The noble Dog.:)
Mans best friend.
He/she can share you bed and keep you warm.
They have superior hearing and sense of smell so can warn you of intruders.
They can hunt, exceptionally well.
And they are better company than most people;)

A really good alarm system that doesn't need electricity! Also, depending on size, an extremely good deterrent (bad guys don't like fangs)!

DO dogs bark!! Do they know the difference between a deer, boar rat or human. Do they like to chase things or are you going to keep them tied to a tree.
IS a dog a pro or a con ??

You've never had a dog have you.
I can go lamping with my .22LR and my dog, and he's quieter than any human I've hunted with.
We can sit down under a tree in the dark, and he spots the rabbits before me so I only have to flick the lamp on for the shot.
A proper dog will not chase anything you don't tell it to.
They are without doubt an asset, one of the best wilderness/hunting/fishing companions you could wish for.
I wouldn't deer stalk without one. Neither would I rough shoot without one.
And yes the do know the difference between a rat and a boar and a deer. Some can be trained to sniff out munitions and drugs,,can you.

Well I reckon the indigenous people might know a thing or two.
Did you know the origins of the band name for Three Dog Night?
THREE DOG NIGHT - Inspired by an Australian Aboriginal custom of sleeping with a dog for warmth on a cold night - a three dog night would be very cold, plus the band had 3 lead singers.
