I'm a subscriber to Coast to Coast AM as I find mainstream radio so boring and well 'mainstream'::)

They bring on some interesting guests and some far out ones as well but it's never boring. :D

"The vice chairman of Clear Channel is Tom Hicks. ... When Mr. Bush was governor of Texas, Mr. Hicks was chairman of the University of Texas Investment Management Company, called Utimco, and Clear Channel's chairman, Lowry Mays, was on its board. Under Mr. Hicks, Utimco placed much of the university's endowment under the management of companies with strong Republican Party or Bush family ties. In 1998 Mr. Hicks purchased the Texas Rangers in a deal that made Mr. Bush a multimillionaire."

Political contributions

Data released by the Center for Responsive Politics in early 2004 revealed that Clear Channel executives donated $42,200 to Bush compared to $1,750 to Democrat Presidential candidate John Kerry. Clear Channel's political action committee contributed 77% of their $334,501 in federal contributions to Republicans.

In the 2006 election cycle, Clear Channel gave $492,250 to federal candidates through its political action committee - 40% to Democrats and 60% to Republicans.

Lobbyists

According to The Hill, in late 2004 Clear Channel hired Brownstein Hyatt & Farber PC to lobby on "competition in the broadcast industry, media ownership and Federal Communications Commission oversight." Lobbyists working on the account included Thomas Hudson, "who served two years as chief of staff to Sen. John Breaux (D-La.)."

In 2006 Clear Channel spent $2,520,000 for lobbying. $700,000 went to four lobbying firms with the remainder being spent using in-house lobbyists.

Yes. Sometimes I want to slap myself when George Noory keeps going with exoteric explanations for every spiritual phenomena that exists, but for the most part I tend to really like the subjects. The only person who bores the hell out of me is Ian Punnett and I have questioned the topics he covers a few times. He is also a Catholic preacher and clearly has an agenda, but I guess everyone has an agenda and I don't know if his is anymore sinister than any other Catholics'.

BTW, I have heard from various Freemasons that Art Bell is definitely a Mason. That doesn't immediately discredit him, but I have also heard he is much more of a showman than an authentic reporter. He doesn't mind when the truth is stretched as long as it makes for a good story and a good show. I don't know if George Noory is the same way or not, but he was hand-selected by Art Bell because he "gets it" - at least, these are all rumors that I have heard anyway. I can't prove any of it and I enjoy the show regardless because the subject matter is usually very interesting, even if sometimes some of the guests are extremely questionable.

Yep, I don't like Ian Punnett at all. I don't like his style or his delivery, sounds really obnoxious thats why I don't tune in when he's on. Somebody fire his sorry arse

I'm also a subscriber, been listening to coast to coast for a few years now. I love George Noory, he's such a great soul.

I've learn't so much from him.

Coast to Coast is like re-learning everything they never taught as school, but in an open minded way...REAL EDUCATION! :cool:

I am also a subscriber. That way I can download shows and don't have to stay up all night and drag around like a half dead cat at work.

I don't know if it is just me, but I started listening to Coast about a year before Clear Channel bought them. I admit to being dubious about Clear Channel's agenda, but it does seem as though C2C is not as edgy now as they were before. It may just be that the topics are not as new and fantastic to me as they were when I first started listening and was gob-smacked just about every night.

I too do not like Ian Punnet so much, simply because he does interject his religious views into the topics too often. I listen to him anyway because of his cryptonews segment.
