First off let me start by saying that I have NOT seen the movie or read the book. From the trailers that I have seen of it, I would say that MAYBE the movie is about mixing truth with fiction/misinformation/misdirection, in the same way that the Da Vinci Code did it. I quite liked the Da Vinci Code cos AT LEAST it got this subject into the mainstream.

Angels and Demons (from the trailers that I have seen) seems to be trying to put the Illuminati into a good light, and trying to "shift the blame" onto the catholics again (Catholicsm plays a big part in the agenda yes IMO, but they are compartmentalised), but the Illuminati run the Catholic church, just the same as they run all the other religions IMO. It's more divide and conquer, and hatred, but I havent actually seen the film yet so ity is pure speculation on my part.

I would like to see that movie and probably will, mainly cos I wanna see how the PTB are presenting THEMSELVES to the mainstream audiences, and how they are trying to give us misinformation and misdirection (assuming that is what they ARE doing in this movie). But it's good to see this sort of stuff in the mainstream.

this movie should be good, i read the book a couple of years ago, and it was awesome.

without giving too much away, the 'illuminati' in this story is based on the Bavarian Illuminati that was founded by Galileo, if memory serves me right.

I don't want to give any plot points away, but in the book the main things of interest are CERN, the LHC, "dark matter", the vatican city, kidnapped priests, and the Illuminati.

I hope the movie is as good as the book, oh and the book was 10x better than the Da Vinci Code, if you ask me.

I dumped the book after the 1st few pages a few years back, because there were too many parralels for my liking, between this and 'The Davinci Code' - I decided I'd come back to it when the latter wasn't as fresh in my memory.

I read Brown's 'Deception Point', instead, which was a rattling good adventure.

From your recommendation, I'll make a point of seeing 'Angels & Demons'. :)

Vatican 'hampered new Hanks film'

Director Ron Howard has accused the Vatican of trying to hamper the filming of his new movie, Angels & Demons, starring Tom Hanks.

The movie sequel to author Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code features symbolist Robert Langdon helping to rescue four kidnapped cardinals.

But Howard said the Vatican exerted its influence "through back channels" to prevent filming near certain churches.

A Vatican spokesman said the director's claims were purely a publicity stunt.

I've read the book and didn't think it was as good as The DaVinci Code. It alks of an organization called "The Illuminati", but it's nothing like the real Illuminati at all. It's a militant secret order of secularlist and scientists in a war against the Roman Catholic Church... when in fact the REAL Illuminati created both the church and secular science!:eek::cool:

Still I'll go and see the film. The film of DVC was far better than the book; and I thought the book was not bad.

I've read the book and that's a fairly good guess, Steevo:cool:. It is a complete distortion of the real situation. Secular and scientific secret socieites of some kinds might be in a war with religious ones, but at the end of the day the most powerful occult Satanic groups created and rule BOTH sides.

I saw it yesterday at the flicks.

It's... not bad. I thought the pace and excitement was very good; it's well-filmed and very stylishly designed; Excellent SFX!:cool:. Its plot diffdered slightly from the book and some of the characters were different. As I've said elsewhere, the Illuminati portrayed are nothing like the REAL Illuminati. The REAL Illuminati are not a secular scientific group at war with the Catholic Church, they CREATED both the Church and secular science!:eek:

Definitely nowhere near as good as The Da Vinci Code movie though.

Definitely not!
The original church was created by the apostles who were absolutely anti-establishment. It was hijacked by the tyrannical rulers of Rome (illuminati if you will).
As for science, that has been around way longer than the illuminati.
They hijacked that too!

All pretty good movies. Watching them back to back certainly leaves one thinking 2009 is the year of the conspiracy theorist. :)

AD does not portray the Illuminati in the way many here would perceive them. There are some tidbits buried in the dialog. One being the fact that the Vatican City has a border which once crossed their rules apply. Something discussed in threads on here.

No, I just think it is somebody cashing in on commonly held conspiracy theories. Some people make money out of this stuff by claiming it is factual and some make money out of it as fiction.

Hide in the open? I can see absolutely no resaon for such a thing. Its just one of those cliche phrases that people use.

There are distinctive and valid reasons why the Illuminati hide things in plain sight. it's ritualistic and also an expression of contempt for the "Goyim". They love to tease us! "Hey, we're running the show, we telling you, but you can't see it!" It's the childish "I know something you don't know" mentality.
