Yes this is correct, but some started this started back in the early 80s. Bands like MegaDeth and TestAment are good examples.
MegaDeth - Holy wars the punishment due, Peace sells, and Symphony of destruction are what I'm thinking of. Symphony of destruction is a direct call out of the Illuminati and NWO. Their newer productions are even more focused on this sort of theme.
