This thread isn't about me, but rather my cousin (who coincidentally doesn't really believe in any of what David Icke talks about) who is feeling concerned about what's happening to him.

He keeps having violent, graphic dreams of horrible things happening to people (i.e. murder). He has said that before he has seen people getting murdered in his dreams and then seen the news report about it shortly afterwards on the TV.

My thought is that they're premonitions, but if that's true then that's an awful thing to have to "watch" every time you sleep.

What do you guys think? And any ideas on how he could get rid of them whatever they are?

Well, for starters, what are his religious / spiritual beliefs?

Doing a prayer before sleep can be beneficial, or bore yourself to death by repeating a good mantra.

Before sleeping, he should either do (one of) those, or talk to himself that he wants to have good dreams, or dreams where he is in control.
If you are in control of your dream (your aware during the dream) you are the master and any kind of bad thing you can let it disappear by simply focusing on something else, or removing it etc. Kinda hard to explain, but the main things is, your friend needs to learn how to be aware of having a dream and be in control of it.

Write them down in the morning (even bad ones), so you can easier delve in your subconscious. This way it's easier to become more aware during dreams. And as said before, repeat before sleep that you are in control and aware of the dream, and have no fear. Repeat it for a while, so it becomes a part of you.

What you do during the day (watch, see, talk about) may also affect what you dream about, so care may be needed there as well.

Be in control.

It's pretty common in my experience knowing people who have had violent childhoods to have violent dreams. Perhaps that is the case? I'm not sure how to fix it but Element is probably right.

His father was somewhat violent towards him - but mostly towards his older brother. He stood on his brother's head once in an act of rage. Could this be the key?

He is also non-religious.

Yeah, that sounds like a bit of imprinting going on. I've also read cases about people having abilities who had them triggered by traumatic times in their life. Those events can rapidly awaken people much earlier than they're intended to, as an act of survival. That survival can be physical trauma or mental trauma. Maybe this is his case?

I would recommend that he not watch television before sleeping for starters, as what we see there can have unforeseeable effects on the mind before REM sleep occurs. Instead, I would suggest he read a book, something thought provoking, and or uplifting. Soft music or nature sounds can be good too. Crickets, waterfalls, wind blowing through a forest, birds singing, rain, and sounds of the ocean might help with improving his time during REM sleep.

I hope he can figure this all out in a way that works out for the better. This sounds like one of his personal milestones in life that we all go through. If he can figure it out and get through it, he'll emerge wiser and stronger. :)

ive been getting violent dreams as well and ive noticed a generally higher level of anger in individuals

some kind of control ELF operating right now perhaps?

Maybe its the collective effects of mankinds fear, the group mind and stuff like that.

You should prepare him for the events ahead, make him feel more confident in the situations he might face.

If you don't think they're premonitions then listen to this guy:
