Me being so interested in symbolism, could you please clarify.. this 'M' hand sign is it exclusively masonic or does it have some other meaning?
Seen it used a few times lately irl. Just caught my interest.

Is there anything to this?

I think it is more likely that the "so called" M sign is just a natural and relaxed way for the hand to sit.

Possibly. Doesn't feel too comfortable with my hands though.
Im not saying the guy behind the link i posted had a good interpretation, or maybe he did. But from the look of those paintings it's not a coincindence from my pow.

That particular gesture is not Masonic, and is not used in Freemasonry.

Out of all those photographs, I only spotted 2 actual Freemasons (Franklin D. Roosevelt and Gerald Ford).

Let me put it this way, it's not something I've come across, been taught or ever heard another Freemason talking about in 15 years as an active member of the Fraternity. In fact I've only come across it in conspiracy theory.

You work it out.

I can't say i find any validity to these photos as being masonic.

They let their fellow members know by handshakes and unusual hand gestures.

Artistic people tend to splay there hands out as they are very extroverted types but when it comes to presidents and the pope...you betcha. You are only chosen for these positions if you have the right connections.
