the media are the fucking biggest terrorists ever! they do all the ground work.
if they know an attack is imminent, im sure it is likely that their sources have even more knowledge....why not just stop it happening, maybe??? ....or maybe im just insane! :)

Precisely! (not that you are insane) :p
but if they had information, would it not be within the best interests of the public to shut up and give the information to the relevant authorities to deal with. Not bloody well warn the 'bad guys' that you are onto them, duh!!
That is if the real reason was to catch terrorists, and not to scare the livin' begeezus out of joe public, thus making it easier to control and bring in draconian measures of control.
Aaaaghhh! It frustrates me so much that people can't see this.

They are losing the planet (control over us) therefore they must create fear (terrorist attacks, diseases, wars, subliminal messages, etc.) and likely WW3 to take 100% control of the situation...

Not when there's an election coming up, I reckon this could be a danger period for us down under. The Jakarta hotel bombings happened just before the last elections which gave Howard a fortuitous nudge over the line and I don't believe he's ready to hand over the reigns of power yet for a long shot. We can only wonder what kind of 'children overboard' ace will he have up his sleeve this time?

Yeah and when the indigenous issue didn't really have the desired effect one can only wonder what they are scheming. And of course the media is doing their bit to show how the government is 'looking out for us'.
Game on!
From the SMH article
I find these fear campaigns personally offensive," said Mr Hill, a member of the Australian Green Party "Where are we supposed to go with our Go Bags? With our current public transport problems, the roads would be clogged in minutes."
He said it smacked of a fear campaign run by the government in the run-up to the general election, due in a few months.
A government spokesman denied the claim, saying the campaign, backed up by posters and the distribution of 200,000 leaflets, had been in planning for the last two years, well before the announcement of an election.
Yep! We had a back up plan just in case we were in trouble
