Jacqui Smith, the Home Secretary has ditched plans for a giant Government database tracking all emails, phone calls and internet activity.

Ms Smith said a central store of electronic data was an "extreme" solution and would have undermined privacy.

Records of every electronic communication made by Britons will instead be held by private companies at a cost of around £2 billion.

They have 'no need for a central store' of data yet, just to make everyone think things are ok for longer, until they find some major 'terror threats' online and make everyone feel like there needs to be more security and finally a central database.

i had heard that all telecommunications in this country go through this base anyway i belive its just another smoke and mirrors story.
deniying what they are already doing if the genral public knew of this there would be outrage.

They say terror that is their reason for everything yet we are not under threat there has not been an attack in years and they still push this as their reason to take away our freedom ok the youturn, but ask yourself why... because people found out what they had planned and the fear was there as to what the people would do if they didnt seem to make it look like it was an Idea only.

You are right there... my mate is a copper (a rare awake copper) and he tells me that he can find out all about a person from the Police Data Base already.

He can find out in seconds, what school you went to, who your doctor is, where you work, they can even bring up a list of associates from your phone/e-mail records (not the content but the numbers and or addresses).

I dont understand how this goes ahead we are such a useless country. I think part of it is the new generation of kids have no sense of sovereignty whatsoever even more so than this current generation I dont think they even believe they have any effect at all, they might disagree on thier blog "thier space" which makes them feel they are in control of "their" own lives buts its got nothing to do with reality.

The only time the reality will hit them is when they realise they cannot escape the system they have cheered for and the horror that they are now bound in a tiny set of rules sinks in. I think people also secretly love the elite as really they actually want to believe that there is someone who Knows and is taking care of things.

I say let it all happen infact let it accelerate, put chips in us, execute those who do not conform, encourage everything thats unnatural, encourage paedophilia take poltical correctness to the extreme, make society as wastful as possbile in the attempt to make it unwastful remove or possibility of individual action just let it accelerate so that the teacher of hardknocks can come in and do its work as it seems apparent humanity cannot consciously learn it has to go through the experience of pain many times untill it finally learns somthing its futile to explain that really they dont want all their details stored by a central government they will not understand untill they are personally effected in the most harshes of ways so I say let it all happen and let it happen more.
