i first read 'the davinci code', i liked it so i started reading 'angels and demons' however i hated it and didn't even finish it which is unusual for me (usually i stick it out until the end even if i dislike it). i found it was full of misinformation and was generally crap. but to each his own of course.

A really good page turner I thought, better than the DaVinci code.....
Remember tho its just a novel so dont expect any real information or insights...

Yes, it's worth reading. Not the best novel I've ever read, but there are a few lovely gems to savor along the way.

Deception Point is also pretty good.

I liked angels and demons better than the da vinci code myself. Not sure how the movie will turn out since the books are always better. Thats probably why i didn't like the da vinci code that much because I'd just read the book a couple of weeks before i went and saw the movie.

I've read it. I didn't think much of it to be honest. It was OK if you don't take it too seriously, but not as good as DVC, the book or movie. The enemy is "The Illuminati", but Brown obviously has no idea who the real Illuminati are. He sees them as an disgruntled group of scientists waging a secret war with the Vatican. In fact the real Illuminati created the Vatican and runs it to this day (along with any secret group which might resemble the Illuminati in the book)! There is little refeence to symbolism except the "ambigram" a writeface that reads the same when it's upside down. These were invesnted quite recently and were not used as ancient symbolism at all.

I think both books are poor.... for someone who knows so much about these people he sure misses out an awful lot of information and facts...

so i either see that as a sell out story just aimed at making lots of money and not informing anyone of any real research..... or an attempt to reveal that there are many secret societies with some heavy stuff.... but not what the "conspiracy theorists" think....

you only need to look at the Vast amount of publicity pushed into this guys work.... why? ...that stuff has been going around for years why all of a sudden do companies decide to pump millions and millions into its advertising... there have been books that have sold loads but there movies have not been on every single wall you look at.

its also a push to move Christianity out of the way.... they are done with it now and know its far less effective as it used to be...so they are moving on to new lies.

It's actually a trivialization of so much serious research, like the work of Lincoln, Baigent and Leigh. I don't blame them for being pissed off about it, although they can't really claim plagiarism because DVC is fiction.

I preferred it to Da Vinci Code. Didn't much like Digital Fortress. Deception Point was wonderful, especially if you like alien conspiracy. They are just entertainment.

I read all of Dan Brown's books. While entertaining, they are being used to mislead people. He always says in the foreword that everything referenced within the novel is fact.

What I really think is going on with The Da Vinci Code is manipulating people into accepting the antichrist when he makes his formal appearance. If people think Jesus (who may or may not have ever existed) carried on the line of David (to which the Royal Family can supposedly trace their ancestory) as the book suggests, people would love it if Prince William became the "messiah"...people would think, "oh it lines up so perfectly because he's related to jeezy-chreezy! chip me, pleezy!"

I think people need to question everything and believe nothing (without proper research). It surprised me that people were believing the stuff in the books as I never read the forewords lolololol

saw on a documentary that the painting the characters hide behind in 'Code is actually too small in real life to hide anything bigger than a cat!

:) Yes, I think it was pretty hard-going. I found them all quite disjointed, tbh, and Da Vinci Code didn't live up to the hype. The chef's son at the gym where I worked introduced me to DB books (she thought he was just an emo who needed to get out more, lol, but he was a sharp kid who's fine as he is). And for some reason it went huge later that year. I don't know whether it was down to product placement or what, because there have been other books on the subject written in the same style...but hot diggity...I remember all the newspaper supplements - "Plan your holiday around the Da Vinci Code!" Hmmmm.

Deception Point had me going:

Hi everyone, first time poster here but have been reading since the new forum started and would like to say what a fantastic place this is. My point is i found the Da vinci code and Angels and Demons to be something of a catalyst in my waking up to what is going on in the world aswell as having doubts about 911 etc. I found it all started me looking for information although im unsure whether Dan Brown is knowingly providing misinformation or not. I found alot of synchronicity going on at this point of my life and ultimately i found my way to Mr Icke through these things so i guess some knowledge is better than none if you like?
