Osama bin Laden is dead. The news first came from sources in Afghanistan and Pakistan almost six months ago: the fugitive died in December [2001] and was buried in the mountains of southeast Afghanistan. Pakistan's president, Pervez Musharraf, echoed the information. The remnants of Osama's gang, however, have mostly stayed silent, either to keep Osama's ghost alive or because they have no means of communication.
With an ego the size of Mount Everest, Osama bin Laden would not have, could not have, remained silent for so long if he were still alive. He always liked to take credit even for things he had nothing to do with. Would he remain silent for nine months and not trumpet his own survival? [New York Times. July 11, 2002]

Bin Laden has often been reported to be in poor health. Some accounts claim that he is suffering from Hepatitis C, and can expect to live for only two more years. According to Le Figaro, last year [2000] he ordered a mobile dialysis machine to be delivered to his base at Kandahar in Afghanistan. [Guardian]

Pakistan's Musharraf: Bin Laden probably dead

Pakistan's president says he thinks Osama bin Laden is most likely dead because the suspected terrorist has been unable to get treatment for his kidney disease.

[A Bush administration official] said U.S. intelligence is that bin Laden needs dialysis every three days and "it is fairly obvious that that could be an issue when you are running from place to place, and facing the idea of needing to generate electricity in a mountain hideout." [CNN]

Renal dialysis -- talking about hemodialysis -- is something that really is reserved for patients in end-stage renal failure. That means their kidneys have just completely shut down. The most common cause of something like that would be something like diabetes and hypertension. Once that's happened, if you're separated from your dialysis machine -- and incidentally, dialysis machines require electricity, they're going to require clean water, they're going to require a sterile setting -- infection is a huge risk with that. If you don't have all those things and a functioning dialysis machine, it's unlikely that you'd survive beyond several days or a week at the most. [CNN]

The editor-in-chief of a London-based Arab news magazine said a purported will it published Saturday was written late last year [2001] by Osama bin Laden, and shows "he's dying or he's going to die soon." [CNN]

Usama bin Laden has died a peaceful death due to an untreated lung complication, the Pakistan Observer reported, citing a Taliban leader who allegedly attended the funeral of the Al Qaeda leader. "The Coalition troops are engaged in a mad search operation but they would never be able to fulfill their cherished goal of getting Usama alive or dead," the source said. [FOX News]

Osama bin Laden, charismatic founder of al-Qaeda, died of typhoid earlier this month in Pakistan, according to a highly classified intelligence brief given to the King of Saudi Arabia and President Chirac this week, and leaked to the French newspaper L'Est Republicain.

The chief of the terror group was known to have been suffering from acute typhoid and seeking treatment in Pakistan in mid-August. This was picked up and tracked by Saudi intelligence services. The same sources, said by the French to be very reliable, believe he later died.

The powerful Pakistani intelligence agency the ISI - at times virtually a parallel government, instrumental among other things in founding the Taliban -has not confirmed the report. "We have no information on Osama's death," a senior Pakistan Interior Ministry official said on Saturday morning.

Bin Laden last appeared on video in 2004. A few poor-quality audio tapes purporting to be of his voice surfaced earlier this year - but it was impossible to say when the original recordings were made.

The reaction of the bin Laden command cell of al-Qaeda to the fifth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks was surprisingly muted and unfocused. It said al-Qaeda would attack "American targets" again, and that all Americans should "convert to Islam".

It is now clear that most of the talking, and broadcasting, by the old command cell has been done by Dr Ayman al-Zawahiri, spokesman and ideologue for bin Laden and always seen as his Number 2. The highly articulate doctor came to the surface in the security operations following the assassination of Egypt's President Anwar Sadat in October 1981. He can only exist in the shadow of the magnetism of bin Laden and is not seen as a leader or strategist in his own right.

Much the same goes for the al-Qaeda movement as a whole. Like other, admittedly smaller, terrorist groups such as Italy's Red Brigades, it has found it hard to reprise its big spectacular. It has never done anything like 9/11 since. Attacks like the Bali and Mombasa bombs, the train and transport bombings in Madrid in 2004 and London in July last year may have been carried out in the name of Islamic revolution - adopting the al-Qaeda logo as it were - but they were not under bin Laden's direct command.

The attacks appear to be loosely linked homegrown efforts whose ideological and operational roots are in Pakistan and Bangladesh as much as in the bin Laden training camps in Waziristan and Kashmir.

The death of bin Laden, if it is confirmed, will be cloaked in the propaganda of martyrdom, mourning and revenge. It could also trigger a major rethink of such notions as "Global War on Terror", which is long overdue. It will be a blow to the sloganising of the neo-conservatives - and their notion of the "clash of civilisations" - and to the high-flown rhetoric of President Bush and Prime Minister Blair.

It is likely to mean not so much "back to basics" in tackling terrorism, but back to the practicalities of how to deal with terrorists in the real world.

A videotape that was heralded as "new" footage of Osama bin Laden by many quarters of the press has been conclusively proven to be more than 5 year old re-released footage, leading to questions about why the government and the media continue to act as willing propagandists for the terrorists while striking fear into Americans by claiming an attack is inevitable.

Though some reports included the proviso that the tape could contain old footage, the importance and ceremony attached to the re-release of the Bin Laden tape over the weekend left the distinct impression that the footage was new and that it correlated with the alleged increase of "chatter" amongst terrorist organizations indicating that a new attack is imminent, a message that was again pushed by the U.S. government following the release of the National Intelligence Estimate yesterday.

In reality, the tape was being released for the third consecutive time, having first popped up in 2002 before re-airing again in 2003. The footage of Bin Laden was filmed six years ago in October 2001.

The Associated Press ran the tape as a top story on Saturday under the headline "Bin Laden Appears in New al-Qaida Video".

Euro News, the propaganda arm of the European Union broadcast in dozens of countries around Europe, described the footage as "apparently new".

"Possible New Message From Osama Bin Laden," reported ABC News, noting that "a brief clip of an older-looking Osama bin Laden is contained in a new al Qaeda videotape," when in reality the graying in Bin Laden's beard was exactly the same as when he appeared in a 2001 videotape, while also wearing the exact same jacket.

The footage was not new and any small amount of cursory research would have verified that fact, and yet the media went full board with the story, creating the illusion that it was new, while rabid Neo-Cons lauded the tape as another reason for keeping U.S. troops in Iraq while fearmongering about upcoming terror attacks at home.

The footage first appeared in May 2002, having been released by a Pakistani security official to the Al-Ansaar Islamic news agency, based in Birmingham, England. This CBS video clip clearly shows the same footage as the apparent "new" tape.

Here is a screenshot from the 2002 tape (right) compared to the new tape (left). Notice the sloping mountain in the left background.

Sources indicate that the footage was shot in either October 2001 or March 2002, with the earlier date being the favorite as Bin Laden's appearance matches with the footage from a different tape that was released in October 2001.

Al-Jazeera said they had the footage as far back as October 2001, but chose not to air it as they saw it as "not newsworthy" and "nothing more than a PR stunt." Six years later, and with the footage having been released on two separate occasions already, the western media insinuated that the tape was new and splashed it everywhere as a top headline.

In our previous groundbreaking investigation, we exposed IntelCenter, the middleman between "Al-Qaeda's media arm" and the press, and the organization that routinely obtains the tapes, as little more than a Pentagon front group staffed by individuals with close connections to the military-industrial complex.

IntelCenter were also behind the release of the "new" Osama tape - having previously released the same footage (the second time it had appeared) in October 2003!

IntelCenter issued a tacit warning that the footage may be re-hashed when they released the "new" tape to the media, but they failed to mention the fact that they released portions of the exact same clips in October 2003. The screenshots of Bin Laden which clearly correlate with the "new" tape were on their website all along, and yet they still labeled the footage as "significant". IntelCenter knew the tape was definitely old, yet their meandering uncertainty left doubts that the media exploited to the full in claiming the footage may be new.

Even a senior Bush administration official admitted to Newsbuster, "Intelligence agencies have determined the video was previously aired as a portion of a longer show first on MBC TV (Middle East broadcast station) on April 17, 2002," and yet retractions to the supposition that the footage was new are nowhere to be seen in the media.

"What's the result of the MSM's sloppy "air-first-verify-later" approach? The world’s most evil and despicable terrorists are given tons of free air time and print exposure," adds Newsbuster.

Even if you believe that Al-Qaeda itself is deciding to re-package old footage and constantly re-release it, and that this isn't a crude propaganda ploy on behalf of IntelCenter in collusion with the Neo-Cons, why are the government and the media consistently affording lavish attention and giving prominence to such activity, aiding the terrorists to spread their propaganda ad infinitum?

It would be foolishly naive to think that the re-release of this tape - for the third time running - has little to do with the fact that the Bush administration has been ramping up the fearmongering and hinting at the inevitability of another attack over the past two weeks - ostensibly for political purposes to mute dissent.

Six months after the failed "surge" in Iraq and with Bush's approval ratings sliding to all time lows while calls for impeachment reach a crescendo, a slew of information threatening a new Al-Qaeda attack gets released and up pops Osama - in a tape that is re-hashed for a third time - to validate the Neo-Cons insistence that to leave Iraq is to hand the terrorists a victory. That tape is released by an organization with clear links to the military-industrial complex who had knowingly released the same footage years earlier.

Is all this a coincidence, or does such chicanery and crass manipulation of the electorate and the political process demand an immediate Congressional investigation as to why the U.S. government and its lapdog media fronts are working with the terrorists to artificially boost their profile while scaring the holy crap out of the American people at the most politically opportune moments?

Osama bin Laden is Either Dead or He is Not Cooperating Anymore

Osama bin Laden: “I was not involved in the September 11 attacks in the United States nor did I have knowledge of the attacks. There exists a government within a government within the United States. The United States should try to trace the perpetrators of these attacks within itself; to the people who want to make the present century a century of conflict between Islam and Christianity. That secret government must be asked as to who carried out the attacks. … The American system is totally in control of the Jews, whose first priority is Israel, not the United States.” Reference Link.

That comment was made during the first interview of Osama bin Laden after 9/11. Yes, I know, there are videos showing Osama discussing the 9/11 events that appear to confirm his involvement. “Appear” is the key word there. Let me tell you something…I was sitting with someone fully fluent in Arabic when they originally aired one of those videos (not the fake fat Osama) and the translation given to us on TV did not match his comments. What a surprise.

According to my translator, Osama was discussing the events as if he saw them on TV, not as if he ordered them. When he spoke about the fact that he did not think the towers would fall he was speaking as we all did that day. When we were watching the event or when we heard about the event at first we did not think the planes would take the towers down. Then again, neither Osama nor we knew at the time that the buildings were rigged to come down, as was WTC 7, a 47 story building that came down in seconds in a perfect controlled collapse even though it had not been hit.

When Osama mentioned on that first video that “the Atta group” was involved he was saying things like “they say” or “they are saying” as if he was commenting on what was being said by the media. The key phrases “they say” and “they are saying” were conveniently - and let me add intentionally - left out of the translation presented to the public.

On 9/11/2001, Osama bin Laden opted out. He was not about to be the latest Lee Harvey Oswald. We have not heard from or seen him since. In my opinion he has either been killed for the purpose of silencing him (just like Saddam) or he has died of other causes (bad health, running from his handlers who wanted to silence him.) Bush surely is not looking for him.

Remember, it was the Bush administration that halted the FBI bin Laden investigation prior to 9/11 (as a matter of fact it was one of the first things the Bush administration did when they entered office…and now we know why…not to allow him to conduct the events of 9/11 but to prevent the intelligence agencies from absolving him from the soon-to-be committed crimes), and since 9/11 they have shut down all operations designed to find him. They know he is dead…or maybe they are protecting their guy. Maybe they cut a deal with him. Maybe they gave him his life for a promise of silence. Whatever the reality, we know one thing for sure…the Bush administration has no interest in looking for him for ANY reason. It is part of the public record folks…they stopped looking both before and after 9/11. Really folks, what does that say to you? Wake up already.

Let us look at what has happened to Osama since 9/11. We don’t know. We have not seen him or heard from him once since he claimed that he was not involved. It is my guess that his involvement with the CIA ended when 9/11 took place. It is my opinion that he was clearly a patsy here. We all know that his power stemmed from the CIA/Carter administration creation of the Mujahadim during the Russian incursion into Afghanistan. We all know that bin Laden was trained and funded by the CIA. We all know that his little venture known as al Qaeda was created with the full assistance of elements within the government of the United States. These are the same elements that do not answer to our citizens, follow our laws, and operate outside the Constitutional apparatus known as checks and balances. These are the same elements that break international laws by helping to rig elections, train and fund terrorist rebels, provoke, support and carry out coups and assassinations of democratically elected world leaders including our own (JFK), and sell arms to our so called enemies, a la Ronald Reagan & George W. It is my opinion that Osama wanted no part of 9/11, which clearly was going to place a huge target on Islam and Islamic people all over the world. 9/11 was the worst thing that happened to Islam in history. It turned the world against Islam. Do you really think Osama wanted that to happen? Realize the only benefits from the events of 9/11 were that the radicals in the White House, who had control of the skies that day got what they needed. What a coincidence. They got the new Pearl Harbor that they spoke of and wrote about and now they would suddenly be allowed to do everything they ever wanted to do! in Condoleezza Rice’s words, 9/11 was “an opportunity.” Do you think Osama wanted to give them an opportunity to “go medieval” on Islam?

It is high time that the American people realize that the real government, or I should say ruling body of the United States, operates outside the distraction we know as government. We have a so-called elected government to keep us quiet. It is there to keep us believing that we actually have some say in what goes on. But if you take a closer look at what is going on with our world you will realize that you would generally disapprove of every decision that is being made “in your name” by “your representatives” and “elected” officials. This ranges from handing our economic system over to private bankers to altering the genetic structure of your food supply to suppressing clean and free energy to starting and fueling wars to having a medial industry run by the people who make money if you remain sick. Fact is that your representative government does not represent you. Agendas are set, orders are given and laws are passed and you have no say whatsoever.

Osama bin Laden, like the US Government itself, is a prop. He is there to provide a plausible explanation for some of the actions that take place before our eyes. Yet, at closer look all the evidence is there. Reality is clear when you look behind the fog of the myths put forth by the establishment media, which at this point is nothing more than a PR firm for the real rulers of this nation. They rule from behind the scenes and they cloak themselves by creating a false reality using their mass media apparatus. The funny thing is that while their media tells you that you are looking at an apple, it is more than obvious than ever that the orange you are staring at is not the apple that they are telling you it is. All you have to do is look at it and think about it and admit it…then the game will be over. You will join the reality-based world and you won’t fall for the lies put forth by the establishment media.

Osama bin Laden was not the perpetrator of 9/11 and that fact has been made clear by the the elements within our own government that have put forth, in desperation, one fake video or audio tape after another. These tapes are always timed to politically benefit the government officials with the closest and most loyal ties to the non-elected real bosses behind the scenes. Do the math, people. It’s laughably obvious at this point. All you have to do is calm down, take some time…and look for yourself. Don’t listen to the media telling you what you are supposed to see…just look and think for yourself. You don’t need to be told what you are seeing. The problem is that most people believe they are looking at an apple, even though they are looking at an orange. And they believe this because some authority figure told them to do so. Well assume the authority. Think for yourself. Then you will see the lies.

Let me ask you folks a question: Why is it that any time a celebrity sneaks out of the country to have a romantic meeting or secret wedding, the media is all over it? But when the yearly Bilderberg meeting or the strange, sinister and rather disturbing gatherings at Bohemian Grove take place, the media cooperate and ignore the events? How is it that all the people who are accused by the so called crazy conspiracy theorists, get together in a secret and conspiratorial manner, and meet to discuss world agenda or to partake in rituals and activities the likes of which we saw in the movie Rosemary’s Baby, no press coverage is available. I’ll tell you why, because the people involved in these meetings control the media and they control our government.

The international bankers, Henry Kissinger, James Baker, George Schultz, former US presidents, former heads of state from all over the world, all meet to take part in secret meetings and pagan rituals…and you call people like me crazy for daring to point this stuff out? Who is crazy? It’s not me. It’s not a myth…it’s documented. It’s photographed (to some extent) and nobody denies it. So why is it not believed when people like me point it out? I’ll tell you why…because nobody believes anything unless it is on TV…that’s why we need to take the criminals off the air and replace them with a real news media! We don’t need media reform…we need media replacement!

Osama did not deliver 9/11, and if he was involved it was at the behest of people, American people, right here in the good old US. It was at the behest of people who were in a position to stand down NORAD and bring down WTC Building 7 while keeping its destruction and reconstruction out of the public conscience (yes, WTC 7, a 50 plus story building has been rebuilt already…with no fanfare or press conference…even on the anniversary of 9/11…I wonder why?)
