what if the grid goes down or hyper-inflation means we cant pay electric bills?

Then get a couple of these:

I have seen them on sale in some shops for as little as 5 euro. They produce a wonderful moody light, 4 or 5 of them in a room would give you about the same amount of light as a 100 watt bulb and they burn very little fuel. Which is inexpensive as well. They also give off a surprising level of heat which is useful. You can even paint them up and make them look fun and attractive. You can carry them from room to room and even outdoors.

In communist countries people were even able to make a device to cook using them:

What more could you want.

Why would the grid go down? :eek:I often wondered what would happen if that really did happen ...........just imagine ....... pure bliss :)

endlessvista you will frighten the life out of places like Tescos if everyone starts stocking up on ordinary light bulbs......:) I mean theyd be using their own minds and not letting the powers that be dictate that would throw them into disarray! :)

It was a pleasure going into my kitchen tonight and switching the lightbulb on and having instant light and not this thing starting of rather dimly and gradually brightening up.......took ages for my eyes and the rest of me to be come accustomed to it.......

The incandescent lightbulb is one of the greatest pieces of technology ever produced. Simple, cheap, safe, reliable and low energy. I have one that's been working in my house for 20 years.

Apparently they are some kind of enemy of the people now.

I personally think that for many of these so called enviromentalist that there is sexual fetish aspect behind their obsession with these pieces of junk:

There is a very sinister agenda with these things which has nothing to do with "saving the planet" - I mean look at it. It's like a medical device or a dildo something.

Another thing I find intersting that an incadescent light bulb when switched on seems almost alive. CFC bulbs look cold and dead to me.

Eeek!:) I know what you mean .......the ones I had in my ceiling light in the living room gave me the creeps.......they seldom were switched on but Id look at them as if they were some sort of evil device.....should have listened to my intuition! :o:) God they make me shudder!

I bet when you switch back to traditional bulbs you will notice nothing significant in your lecky bills. You night even see a reduction in your monthly bill as you need lots more CFCs to give the same light levels as a traditional bulb.

The CFC bulb this is a complete scam - and a dangerous one. I suspect in decades to come they will be considered as dangerous and short-sighted as using asbestos in homes and schools in the 1950's. There will be then specialised teams to remove the mercury from people homes. Houses having their floorboards and plaster removed because of mercury gas seepage. Meanwhile million of children across the planet will already have high levels of mercury in their bodies cos their trendy green eco-lovin parents wanted to SAVE THE PLANET (BY FUCKING UP THEIR CHILDREN WITH MERCURY).

I am not kidding. This will happen.

Here in Ireland our minster for this bullshit was rapidly doing his best to get the lightbulb ban in this year. He was frantic!

Suddenly out of the blue he stops the legistation and says something like "we'll wait for the EU laws to come into effect". At first I was wondering why the sudden U-turn then it hit me. He does not want to go down in history as the Irish minister for the Environment who caused the epidemic of Mercury poisioning within the Irish population so he fobbed it off on the EU.

The fuckers forcing these CFC bulbs on us do not even trust them.

Scary stuff! :( Im already feeling much more "alive" since I removed the CFCs ......weve had them in for approx 6 mnths and in all that time I have been feeling really ill...........with regards to our lecky bill we got one in last week and I was quite surprised to see their was little or no reduction, didnt realise they consumed more energy than ordinary light bulbs, will be interesting to see what the next bill reads but then again thatll be for the summer months so it will be hard to tell. Something else that came to me is the fact that its usually sensitive people that can sense somethings not right with the energy of these bulbs.......so in effect the very ones who are Spiritworkers etc would be affected by them and put out of action.........just my imagination running wild! :o:) Drug companies would benefit also with people seeking help from their Doctors for the onset of the side effects of these bulbs..........so glad Ive removed them! The house already feels so much lighter :)
