View Full Version : Mooncups
Anyone tried using a mooncup for their periods or partner has? Just wondered if they were any good, whether they were comfortable or if anyone had any problems of any kind with them. I'd like to get one but not 100% sure. Do they last as long as they say?
For anyone who doesn't know they are little plastic cups, you use one like a tampon when you menstruate and it can be reused again and again. Just google mooncup.

Oohh I've never heard of them before but just checked em out. The concept seems a bit weird at first but I probably would try them out, just not really willing to spend £20 for the experience atm!

I use one. They're made of latex, so they're bendy. It takes a while to get used to using them, but it's safe (and recommended) to give it a "dry run" before your next period.
The only problem I find with using a Mooncup is that most public toilets don't have a sink in the cubicle, so I have to carry a bottle of water around to rinse the cup out.
No reported cases of TSS, good for the environment, no nasty fibres, in the long run you save money.
Yes, they DO last as long as they say!
This is a good place to check out other peoples experiences with menstrual cups:

Cheers:) I'll take the plunge then when I can afford it.
Tried them..........
*warning, graphic information ahead*
If you have heavy periods......man, they are a nightmare. Totally impractical.
Flooding ahoy!

Well that's my decision made for me.
Thanks for that - I was going to give it a try but not now!
