I've noticed a lot of times that power switches in wall sockets have been turned on. At first I believed that I was just forgetting that they were on or that someone was coming into my home. Things like the wall socket for my computers and routers power lead would be on when I got in from the shops. Often enough I had thought about the computer when out and that I needed to switch it on as soon as I got back so I could check emails. This was not done with me thinking in sounds or words but with images of my computer popping into my mind.
When I went to open the curtains today I saw that the Ironing board was in the way. So I pushed it out of the way. When I went back into the room after about an hour I noticed that the Iron was now switched on. In the meantime I had sung a verse from the song I've got the power. Sometimes if I just think about a small appliance the switch for the wall socket will be on when I later look at it. Even though I know that they have been switched off for days. However if I consciously think to myself I am going to try turning a switch on by thinking about it, then it don't happen.
I'm trying to figure out a way to determine if it si me ( I really don't think it is this) forgetting. Or someone coming into my home or is indeed my mind turning things on. However I am stumped when it comes to me devising a method to see what is the real reason behind it all. I don't think that I would be able to do this in laboratory conditions. As my conscious mind would be aware of the tests.
