I am extremely familiar with the Christian equation of the word Apollyon to the demon Abaddon, however I don't think this is exactly what was meant in the original texts. It seems to be the only information I can find and I know that it is part of a Catholic disinformation campaign that probably started centuries ago and just happens to have an effect now.
This word must stem from the word Apollo, and I know that it was translated from Greek. What does it mean in Greek, does anyone know? Is anyone familiar with this term? During my meditations I was led to understand that it related to fire/destructive energy that would be used in a good way. Sort of how white blood cells destroy infections. It is a cleansing fire. Also, Apollo is the Sun God, which is a huge ball of fire. I could be completely wrong, but I believe this term has something to do with an Asceplian cult... Asceplius was the son of Apollo, who was the Greek god of healing and medicine. This might relate to cleansing fire, or natural energy healing. I believe that Jesus Christ was modeled after this pagan archetype and many other archetypes, as well as modeled after an actual individual named Y'shua or Emmanuel as the church re-invented him for pagan Rome and distorted the teachings of Y'shua.
Does anyone have any information on Asceplian cults? A lot of this is actually harder to find than you would think, but I know they existed, and that they handled poisonous serpents as part of their ceremonies.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am going to try to continue to research it on my own. I will post more relevant information later!

Abaddon is Saturn, while Apollyon is the Sun, obviously. The Hebrews were Saturn-worshippers, while the Greeks were sun-worshippers. And later in this same book we have 666, the Mark of the Beast, which is both the number of the Sun and the Seal of Saturn (the hexagram).
I believe that Revelation is closely linked to Alexandrian esotericism. This passage actually seems to be a retelling of the Egyptian creation myth: Ancient Egyptian creation myths - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The different creation myths had some elements in common. They all held that the world had arisen out of the lifeless waters of chaos, called Nu. They also included a pyramid-shaped mound, called the benben, which was the first thing to emerge from the waters. These elements were likely inspired by the flooding of the Nile River each year; the receding floodwaters left fertile soil in their wake, and the Egyptians may have equated this with the emergence of life from the primeval chaos. The imagery of the pyramidal mound derived from the highest mounds of earth emerging as the river receded.[1]
The sun was also closely associated with creation, and it was said to have first risen from the mound, as the general sun-god Ra or as the god Khepri, who represented the newly-risen sun.
In the passage from Revelation, we have the Demiurge, Sun/Saturn, emerging from the Abyss (ἀβύσσου), the Egyptian Nun.

It makes sense that the God of the Jews would demonize the God of the Greeks.

So you are saying that Apollyon probably WAS related to Apollo, the Sun God?
That's what I thought, it makes complete sense. I mean, Apollyon is a derivative of Apollo.
The equation of Apollyon to Abaddon is completely accepted and also, completely bullshit.
I knew it.

Hmm...interesting. I wonder if this distinction is, perchance, in any way related to the Saturn theory--that Earth's first 'sun', the dominant object in the sky, was Saturn?

That could make the Hebrews 'old school' and the later solar sun worshippers 'innovators'.

It's about duality, dude. Remember the Masonic checkerboard? The Sun and Saturn, the "black sun," form the Demiurge, the Archon of the Abyss. He gives life with one hand and kills with the other. This is the Theory of Forms - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia; the world of the senses that is, by its ever-changing nature, inherently false and delusive. Plato held that this could be overcome by focusing on the Form of the Good, the Metaphor of the sun - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I suspect that it has Kabbalistic significance, but beyond that, who knows? All I know is that the two were connected from the earliest times.

Thanks for that information 1977, very interesting.
You are always providing me with very thought-provoking knowledge.
