Yes, I'm a somewhat younger member, so excuse me if this thread seems redundant to some. I drove into work today at noon as usual, and couldn't shake this feeling of hopelessness from my psyche.

For a 21 year old male, I'd like to think that I am more aware of true reality than most my age. I do not take things for granted, I am not materialistic, I am aware of the illusions of the matrix control system, and I am aware of the full potential every spiritual being incarnate is capable of. Despite all this, I still get uneasy feelings.

When I'm at work, I feel like it such a waste of life; literally. You hear people bitch about "how I would rather be doing *insert activity here* than working right now", but it's totally true. Think of all the experiences you could be having; all the true knowledge you could be enlightened upon if you weren't "trapped" by the capitalist nazis.

It wasn't until today that I realized I am just about ready to say fuck it all and pursue music full time. I don't want create debt aka go to college to learn less than I already know, nor do I give a care about "making a living" doing a "career" that does nothing but spiritually cripple me. This is not life, this is a charade.

You've all heard me vent before, and I greatly appreciate all and any opinions. What are some ways I could pursue music without having to rely too much on a job to "stay above water"? I don't really need much to get by, but I don't want to be a full on bum lol. Anyone else in a similar situation with their current life/perspectives?

Go for it :)
At 21 I said bye to it all and spent a couple of summers enjoying life round the greek islands. The turning point was a certain tune of the time called Its your life Dr Alban - cheesy but made me realise.

I agree with the above comment. Just drop out man. Do what it is that truly makes you happy in life and don't let money worry you.

I want to get the hell out of here, but how can I afford to travel with no job? If there's a way, please share lol :)

It got to the point where I had to budget to the penny - i mean to the point i use to take the cash out monthly and divide into envelopes for the month.
Save to cover my costs and then enjoy.
Have you sat down and really worked all your debts/set outgoings?
Get a plan and try your hardest to stick by it.
not that i am an expert I am sat here stuck in the system!

Did you just save up a ton of cash to live on and then say "fuck it" and just left? I'll be leaving for a week vacation in late May which will be refreshing, but I know once I'm back the same rut will occur.

Im 27 and feel the exact same way.

Today at work I could have shot myself!

1-2-1 appraisals. what can you do to better yourself and your colleagues and the company?

I can get us all fired! That would be a blessing in disguise.

Its so soul destroying. I am into music as well, but my band are fucking lazy fucks who need me to wipe their own arses for them. You would think living in London would mean it was easier to make new friends and find a new band. Its bloody not! People are drones man. at least In glasgow people made conversation and communicated.

God now i am ranting.

If you find a way out, let me know man, likewise if I come up with something.

Dude I fucking hear you; the guys in my band are so complacent it's enough to make you vomit. They cannot think for themselves, and they do not have the same outlook on music as I do. It's either jamming or being famous for them; no middle man. They enjoy just playing, but they don't understand the actual power of music, let alone the potential or a new style.

My good friend is moving out to CA after the summer; maybe I'll say fuck it and tag along. I'd rather start fresh and try and assemble a whole new band than stick around here wondering. At least I can come back home if it sucks; I'm not gaining any experience sitting around working at the supermarket five days a week.

Fuck complacency.

I know exactly what you mean mate.

Best to start over. I am certainly going to try. Fuck commuting to Glasgow froM London to rehearse.

Follow your heart bro.

I'm going to have a few glasses of absinthe at the weekend and assess my life. The last time I done this it worked wonders!

but I don't want to be a full on bum lol

Perhaps the full on bum are those with jobs? Social Conditioning phrase? I think the majority of people would be far happier under alternative pursuits. Until land and resource ownership are rightfully returned and ALL mandatory taxes are deemed unconscionable, I ain't going to bother. I can live in a hedge if left alone. If we all walked away they'd be in serious trouble tomorrow. Bum? Heroic!

There are 1001 jobs that are a complete an utter waste of time and actually hurt society by existing. Work ethic? Slave Mentality more like.

There is no tinkering with the current system and it suddenly becomes 'alright' or 'not to bad'. Change. Forget 'career', forget aims, forget plans, forget your life, forget it all. It doesn't matter.

We've got a job to do and we must do it or it's all over anyway. That's it. But I do believe we are in for huge upheaval whatever happens. It's just which way the upheaval goes.

Hell yeah dude; society is a trap for the weak and easily influenced. Destroy the main stream; it's time to rock \m/.
