Armenian President Serzh Sargsian (L) meets with the Leader of the

"Super powers are trying hard to prevent the forging of close bonds
between regional countries by taking different measures," the Leader
told visiting Armenian President Serzh Sargsian on Tuesday.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the involvement of the US and certain European
countries was visible in any regional conflict, citing the Iran-Iraq war
in the 1980s, the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 2006 and the recent
attack on the Gaza Strip as examples.
The Armenian President for his part expressed readiness to develop ties
with Iran in various areas, promising strong ties between the two
countries.
President Sargsian, who arrived in Tehran on Monday at the head of a
high-ranking delegation, has so far met with Iranian President Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani and the Secretary of Supreme
National Security Council Saeed Jalili.
Iran and Armenia have signed eight MoUs during Sargsian's visit to Tehran.
