lincoln was shot and the titanic was struck by the iceberg on the 14th, but he died and it finally slipped beneath the waves on the 15th.

there has just been a massive thunderstorm over the birmingham area. I have never heard such thunder in my life before! rather big hailstones too.

not exactly a disaster but certainly unusual weather. weird.
