Let's all talk about football shall we?
who gives a damn who is playing and who is not?

These guys make 50 000 a week how ridiculous is that?

and people pay fortunes to be a bleeding member, making them rich for kicking a stupid ball around.

I hate football, I think it's one of the main sport they used to put millions and millions around the world to sleep.

I used to love it, until I realised it's nothing but money, like any other sport.
it's all big business, no sport spirit.

The thread was put in News, as a breaking news, if the thread states football, I wouldn't even read it.

It used to be a good game and sport, not anymore, now it's all money, what it is going to do to your life?
Are you getting richer everytime your "team" wins? no you are paying them, you are making them rich.

I don't care and that's why we are in this S*** because people think they know what's going on.
The truth is you will always remain the way you are.

I don't need to start the anti football thread, I have better things to do with my life than wasting it in talking S*** all day.

I wanna know why UNICEF are the sponsor of the Barcelona shirts (ITV4 Bayern Munich v Barcelona) ?

NEW YORK, 7 September 2006 – Futbol Club Barcelona and UNICEF today kicked off a global partnership to benefit children in the developing world. The first beneficiaries will be vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS in Swaziland. During the announcement ceremony, the legendary sporting club unveiled its 2006-2007 jersey featuring the UNICEF logo on the front, the first time in the club’s 107 year history that a logo has been featured.

In addition to the UNICEF-branded jersey, Futbol Club Barcelona (FCB) has also agreed to donate at least €1.5 million per year to UNICEF over the next five years to support UNICEF programmes for children all over the world. The first year’s donation will support programmes in Swaziland aimed at preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV, providing treatment of paediatric AIDS, preventing HIV infection among adolescents and protection, and providing care and support for children orphaned and made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS.

"This partnership joining UNICEF and the Barcelona Futbol Club will help push open a door of hope to thousands of children," said Ann M. Veneman, UNICEF Executive Director, during the announcement of the new partnership at the United Nations. “Barcelona shows us that sports can be a powerful, positive force for children.”

The sporting club’s philanthropic history includes its foundation, Fundació Futbol Club Barcelona, which is committed to social, cultural, educational and humanitarian activities in Catalonia, and has expanded internationally during the last few years under its motto “More than a Club.”

“At FC Barcelona, we are aware of the global dimension of soccer. The increasing number of FC Barcelona supporters and fans around the world in the last few years has been spectacular. The club has an obligation to respond to this enormous positive wave. The best way to do so is by using soccer as a tool to bring hope to millions of vulnerable children in need around the world”, said Mr. Joan Laporta, President of Futbol Club Barcelona.

During the first year of the agreement children affected by AIDS in Swaziland will benefit from this partnership. Swaziland is working hard to stop AIDS, but faces enormous obstacles. The country is estimated to have the highest estimated adult HIV prevalence rate in the world. In 2004, 43 per cent of women seen at antenatal clinics tested positive for HIV. But just under 12 per cent of HIV positive pregnant women are receiving the drugs necessary to protect their newborns from contracting the virus.

The first year’s donation will improve children’s lives in Swaziland on a number of fronts. Education and sports programmes will be strengthened to provide better protection, care and support for orphans and vulnerable children. Those same programmes and other outreach efforts will raise public awareness to limit the spread of AIDS. Children and their mothers will have improved access to life-saving drugs to prevent transmission of HIV and dangerous opportunistic infections of the virus, including access to life-prolonging antiretroviral treatment.

UNICEF is spearheading the Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS global campaign which aims to ensure that children affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic are an integral part of the global AIDS response.

FCB is one of the most beloved and accomplished teams in professional soccer. More than 60 million fans follow its exploits, and it has earned 57 major national and international titles. While the value of the signage on the jersey is estimated at $20 million, for UNICEF it is a donation that will remind football fans everywhere of the importance of putting children first.

“For UNICEF this is a priceless donation,” said Veneman.

this thread is NOT NEWS. football is NOT a subject suitable for this or ANY other forum except a 'football' forum of which there are thousands.

these threads will kill aforum dead, all forums suffer it at times and these fools who want to talk thier idiotic rubbish should do it on football forums

threads about football must be nipped in the bud or it will become a tidal wave of irrelevant threads. if these 'no content' threads are allowed then soon the girls will start making threads about which handbag they like in topshop.

Actually, grachten, it was news. :)

So, you now get to decide what is suitable to be in this forum?? Or, as you said, ANY others. You apparently deserve a say, or command, in what subjects are permissible here and elsewhere??

Sounds like somebody wants to impose their will on people and control things, whilst simultaneously being a part of a forum of people who want to topple over people who do the same things! At the same time calling your like-minded brothers and sisters here 'fools who talk idiotic rubbish'. How peculiar... I think a mirror is needed here ;)

I am always very dissappointed whenever I see another football thread on this forum , I always see them as an attempt to divert the thoughts of genuine truth-seekers from their personal waking up experience, and sadly it always works.
Look at the number of replies that this thread gets, the title of it was designed to lure you in by pretending that it contained something important and then you were distracted enough to carry on reading until you got this far, did you come here to learn or chat about football?

If the subject is popular enough that there are sufficient numbers here that want it on the forum then ask the mods for a football section, or be upfront when posting a thread so that I and my more awake brothers and sisters can avoid it!

Just thought I would let you know what the BBC fontpage breaking news is.

I am making a point of not reading all five pages of this thread which have come from your post. I hesitate in adding yet another post, simply to say this :-

I really, really hope that the point of your thread was to illustrate the absolute drivel and garbage, by way of "important" (totally pointless) news which makes it to the front page of the BBC and other so-called news sites, on a daily basis.

There is so much going on in this world which should concern us, life-threatening events and horrible threats to our existence, and this is yet another ingredient in the pot of distraction to the masses who are asleep, another example of getting to those who prefer to stick their heads in the ground and take notice of things which simply do not matter.

Besides all sports today are nothing but "multi-million" businesses.

We are faced with far more serious things in our daily lives now, it's not something in the distant future, it is here and now.

We haven't got time to waste on trivial things, televion soaps or football
as someone mentioned above that maybe girls will start a new thread here and compare their beautiful hand bags.

Just to clear things up, this thread I posted as sarcasm, but obviously sarcasm does not transmit well over the internet.

Someone who kicks a ball of air around, not playing a game is not breaking news but it is a reflection of where humanity's attention is. I was not knocking football anyone is allowed to enjoy what they want there is nothing wrong with football even icke loves football but I am knocking the fact that it should not be thrown down our throats by media and given an importance that is borderline insane.

Come on guys be serious this is a matter of life and death.
If this thread was meant to show how ridiculous the BBC is, or how low their propaganda has sank, it's ok
But I don't think it was meant to hey let talk S*** all day.

The way I see it, the whole NWO agenda is also (last ditch attempt) there to distract us from waking..though it is having the reverse effect! Universal Law of balance working here me thinks ;)
