Interesting Address for my birth certificate req.

I made a request for a "copy" of my birth certificate. I now have a copy. The interesting part of it is the cover sheet.

According to the GRO, my address is in the following format.

Road
Town
County
Post Code
UNITED STATES.

I live in the UK! No Idea what this really means, but how do you get a US address for a government registration service for the UK population. I might just call them and ask how this is possible!

I emailed the GRO asking what would happen if the parents of a new born baby refused to register the child for a birth certificate..............................they didn't even respond.

So I guess that nothing would happen apart from a £200 "fine"?

The staff in these so-called governement departments and agencies must be wondering what is happening with apparent random individuals asking lots of seemingly obscure questions.

If we all keep probing and discovering that it really is an illusion then the house of cards will come crashing down, I'm sure of it.
