yup.
- fruits rich in vitamin c like limes, lemons, oranges, guava, grapefruit and tangerines have fat burning properties; vit c dilutes the fat and makes it less effective and helps in releasing the fat from the body.
- asparagus, beetroot, broccoli, cabbage, carrot, chillies*, soyabean, sweet potatoes, apple, blueberries and watermelon.
*red chillies + foods containing chillies are considered to be foods that burn fat, because chillies contain capsaicin that helps in increasing the body's metabolism.
- beans (kidney, lima, white beans, etc.)

good point; mustard oil is also very healthy- though it's aroma can be very overpowering and takes some getting used to.

Good tips, good tips.
There are extreme communities out there with some extreme techniques.
High intensity running early in the morning before breakfast... sprinting on an empty stomach even once will change your body's attitude.
Eating small meals more often throughout the day instead of larger meals... ( I break this rule all the time).
I honestly don't know of any 'best ways'. In my opinion people fail at losing weight because they don't have the nerves to exercise to their full potential. People are lazy and look for shortcuts :p But if you are not lazy and you implement 'shortcuts' you will do very well.
P.S. I have lost about 60 pounds and put on 10+ in muscle. If I had listened to the scrawnier know-it-alls I never would have gotten anywhere. Don't take advice from people who haven't done the work.

10 reps of 12 sun salutations in 36 degree heat in Southern India (or anywhere really) followed by a nice dip in the lake then copious bowls of fresh fruit salad. Mmmm....

Don't skip meals. Skipping meals only slows down your metabolism. That is why most dieters fail. They completely hose their metabolism to the point that eating one donut puts on 2lbs.
Do not eat food labeled as "diet" food. That stuff is crap. It might be low fat or low calorie, but your liver and pancreas will be begging for the referee to ring the bell.
Make sure the coconut oil is cold pressed virgin, preferably organic. It is expensive but lasts for ages.

I have been doing about 45 mins of anaerobic resistance training in the morning, and I don't mean doing a few reps, I mean the sort of training where you drip wityh sweat and feel totally buzzed up by the end of it.
I have been doing this on an empty stomach, I can't say I have noticed it burn more fat though. Does HIT on an empty stomach burn more fat for you metacomet?
I supose exercise and a diet low in refined carbs such as white pasta, white bread and flour is the best way, and drinking enough water.

The sprinting idea seems to follow some "research" that has been done lately. In West Australia , the Murdoch uni found that a short quick sprint , followed by a small rest, then more of these sprints followed by a short rest, actually lowered the chance of diabetes. They measured all sorts of stuff and came up with this finding. The P.A.C.E program of Dr Al Sears appears to work on a similar basis. He states that (once conditioned to be able to do it), a varying series of short sprints and rest from 10 minutes to a maximum of 20 minutes. He claims great success with this and I am about to start it again.(I originally did not understand his theory or how the exercises were meant to change so I kept at the same exercise for months).
The secret appears to be in variation of the exercises each week. I dont know IF it will work but I will give it a try. It can be done on bikes, skipping, treadmills or any exercise machine. AND the beauty of it is that you dont have to diet in the respect that you can eat normally. Some people have had lost fat by even using this method after normal workouts, for a few minutes (about 6-7 mins) where they had been exercising previously but didnt seem to lose any fat. The programme is aimed actually at strengthening the heart and lungs but fat burning appears to be a bonus.
I know its exercising, but if you are like me, it seems that it doesnt matter how long I work out, the fat stays there. This programme takes the form of really pushing yourself and resting but for only overall a short period and the body keeps burning the fat and not muscle. I used to do the Matrix system when I was doing weights and , to my mind, this in a way is similar in that the body doesnt have the chance to "get used to" the work load and type of exercise so with the matrix system would build muscle ( see articles on he internet about the system) but this one may appear to keep burning fat.
Anyway thats how I THINK it works but check out if you want his e-book on the internet. May work for some , maybe not.
Time for bed.

There is no way around exercise and diet when it comes to fat burning. You can use supps, but no supps in the world are going to do much if your activity level and diet are out of whack.

Obviously, you have to eat less than you can spend in a day. Also you should eat less at a time, but more often as suggested before, 5-6x a day. And most importantly, less carbs and more fats. Carbs make your insulin spike and that makes your body to grow fat cells, getting energy from fats keeps insulin levels stable and your body will get energy from fat cells more easily.
Eat 5g or less of saturated fat per 100g of each food/meal you eat. Lose weight moderately fast and steadily.

Nope, it only primes my body for a 'get in shape' season. I'll do it once or twice but to do it all the time will overtax the body.
I do lift weights nowadays first thing in the morning with empty stomach and it's just fine because I go home and eat after to replenish muscle etc.

Actually I've been doing weight training, well, using my own body weight ie sqats, lunges etc first thing before breakfast and I have noticed that I am eating more, but I am not getting any larger, so it must have boosted my metabolism.
I have also started going out for runs again in the evening before dinner, it rocks :)
Got an operation in a couple of weeks, no training for 4 weeks afterwards so I will loose the fitness and muscle I have built up so far :(

Hmm, that sounds too much like Atkins, cutting carbs does work though.

There is tons and tons of material and research on this out there. I can point you in the direction for information in this area, I've done personal training part time in the past, competed in the NPC (bodybuilding) as a light heavyweight, and majored in nutritional science... but the question becomes are you just trying to lose a bit of weight or are you simily looking to fine-tune your diet to drop just a couple more lbs?
Coconut oil... sorry I am going to disagree on that one. If you are looking for something that will assist in fat burning in "pill form" fish oil caps + calcium caps is an effective comination... however you will get far more effective results by:
Eating more viber and green veggies
Removing all processed junk, sugars and trans fats from your diet
Drinking more water
Eating more healthy fats (olive oil, flax oil, nuts etc)
And combining an effective resistance training and aerobic training program into your lifestyle.

Ketosis diets, if done PROPERLY, are extremely effective, but they are not for everyone and I do not recomend attempting one untilyou have read a good deal of information on the subject.
Ketosis diets involve a lot more than just cutting your carbs to 20 grams or less... you fat to protein ratios and the TYPE of carbs you chose for those 20 grams does make a massive difference in how deep your body goes into ketosis.
This type of diet is difficult to follow for most people, requires a good deal of care with what you eat as well... but I can't argue with the effectiveness. I've experimented a lot with varies types of ketosis diets... SKD's (adkins), TKD, the anabolic diet (Dr. Mario DePasqual's concept) etc.

I'm skeptical at best of it. ;)
It is more than possible to achieve very fast levels of fat lose without the use of drugs or suppliments to be honest. It is only difficult because our food has become so horrid, and the average person has been given not only a poor education, but been fed large amounts of disinformation on nutrition through both their schools and popular culture.

No way, you'll be fine!
Muscle doesn't atrophy that quickly unless you are going to be completely bed-ridden or something.
It takes about 3-4 weeks of complete inactivity to diminish a persons cardio abilities (unless they're smoking cigarettes...)
It takes at least a couple months for your body to let go of lean muscle...unless you are extremely thin and not eating anything.
The best excersises for burning fat are plate push aways and bar declines.

That's good to know, also one of the worst things you can do after an operation is to stay in bed, you actually heal quicker if you maintain some level of activity, but you do still have to take it easy.

Coconut oil is in fact a great way to burn fat. I eat 4 tablespoons a day, it gives me great energy, and there are so many ways to use it.
Dr. Julian Whitaker: “LCTs are like heavy wet logs that you put on a small campfire. Keep adding the logs, and soon you have more logs than fire. MCTs are like rolled up newspaper soaked in gasoline. They not only burn brightly, but will burn up the wet logs as well.” (mct/lct: medium/long chain triglyceride. coconut oil is an mct, nearly all other fats are lct)
It increases core temperature, metabolism, energy levels, it easily passes through the intestinal membrane, quickly passes through the liver and then easily enters mitocondria to be made into usable energy very quickly. It is an anti-fungal, bacterial, viral. Before WWII, coconut oil and palm oil(mct oils) were the only oils used in nearly every kitchen and food product. It's reputation was destoryed by propaganda primarily from the American Soybean Association.
I could go on and on about coconut oil...
But don't listen to me, do the research for youself.

That really is the only way I can lose weight, among other body types. Even though I recommend putting on muscle which requires eating alot... if you want to lose fat you have to drop eating and still exercise regularly.
Body type means everything in my opinion. http://www.bodybuildingpro.com/bodytypeinformation.html
I have done the tests and am a Mesomorph, which explains why I have been overweight since childhood while simultaneously athletic... I have to watch my eating more than any other body type and have plenty of fat left to lose thanks to not understanding this until late in life.
I remember putting on 20 pounds in a week without blinking and it taking another two weeks to lose. In fact, this is my regular lifestyle :p It's not healthy but it happens. Burning fat is like trying to take a bite out of a massive debt that has been building on your body. Sometimes the debt just seems to never go away! But you can always make it smaller...
chillies in everything..... does the trick for me

I build and keep muscle without effort really... losing fat is very hard and packing it on is pretty much my genetics. We had to survive to get this far...

I'm a bit of a endo-mesomorph myself. I gain muscle and strength faster than the majority of people I've worked out with. If I eat any refined carbs I gain 10 lbs of fat in about 15 minutes, but can diet it off easily when I have the desire to. :)

I gain fat easily too, as soon as I start eating refined carbs, I gain muscle easlily, but it seems to go quickly too. Luckily I can loose weight fairly easily by avoiding refined carbs and by exercising.
I have a bizzare theory about body types.
The people I know who are ectomorphs (including my boyfriend) always seem to be chowing down on carbs and that seems to really agree with them, they don't gain weight from it and they seem to thrive on a high carb diet.
The mesomorphs and endomorphs I know (myself included) naturally seem to prefer a diet higher in protein and seem to thrive on this. Too many carbs leaves them bloated and sluggish and causes rapid weight gain.
I have no scientific evidence to back this up however, just an observation.
