Moon Pictures by NASA astronauts

Why in the pictures you can see nothing but Black no stars in the background when there standing on the moon, think about it Earths atmosphere is much more denser, but at night we see stars so how come there are no visiable stars on the moon

because the lunar surface is exposed to a lot more light than the earth, therefore better exposure in the cameras is needed to see the stars in the pictures.
