I was recently watching something, cant remember exactly what it was but no doubt it was some conspiracy gumf....there was a guy saying about how when sailors sail west to east or vice versa they feel "wrong" or stressed, but when sailing up down in line with the earths poles they felt much better and their behaviour changed.
I am currently sleeping with my bed facing east west, and am going to swivel it round to north south. Its like that fenchewy stuff isnt it... that practice the old chinese used to be into.
Anyone here into that stuff? Anyone noticed any difference depending what direction you sleep in?

Don't sleep with your head in north direction.
All other directions are fine.
The worst fighting scene ever. Indeed!

That video is aweessoommmee... I love how the monster can throw a giant boulder with ease, but fails to injure Kirk with punches :p
About the sleeping direction question: I imagine it matters more to sailors because they are out on the water and electromagnetic energy is different out there, like a compass (needle floating on water).
Sleeping direction shouldn't affect humans whatsoever. I have noticed however that birds face the east predominantly. Birds, unlike humans, follow electromagnetic currents and have a certain sense for it that we probably don't.
Similarly, when the magnetic poles flip fully, the birds and animals will be the first to feel it. The bees probably already have (hence their near extinction).
The magnetic poles are currently bleeding into one another - the shift is on the way.

LOL you beat me to it. I was about to write the same thing. :D
1960s. Karate and Judo were popular. Hence kneck chops & rolls, etc.
And, did you notice how the Reptile type thing has a smoker's cough?
Perhaps it should have been David fighting it in this video?

Here's the Vastu sleeping directions advice (vedic tradition):
Vastu sleeping direction is recommended in any of the seven Vastu Directions except North. Each direction has its own effect on the person sleeping. Since Vastu is based on the very principles relating to the cosmic energy from the planetary movements, the energy flow from each direction differs and so does its direct impact.
North:
The Vastu sleeping position with head in the North direction is strongly opposed. It might cause major illnesses and sleepless nights for the person sleeping in such a position.
South:
Vastu Shastra highly recommends this direction as your usual sleeping position with head towards the South. This is believed to provide sound sleep and increase the wealth and prosperity in the household.
East:
Sleeping with head resting in the East enhances memory, health and spiritual inclination. It is usually advised by Vastu Shastra Consultants to plan the children's room in such a way that their Vastu sleeping direction comes out to be east. This leads to higher concentration and retention power.
West:
This is not a very advisable sleeping position. Vaastu Shastra says sleeping with head resting in West might cause disturbed sleep due to nightmares, some major illness and tendency towards violence.

this is a complicated subject...i just found this feng shui site where you can get some details of what are your good bad directions based on your birthdate.
http://www.fengshuiweb.co.uk/advice/8mansions.htm
according to that site I am a "male gua 1"..and my favorable directions are south east, east, south and north...my bad directions are supposedly west, north west, north east, and south west.
The different directions affect different aspects, such as health, prosperity, relationships etc. So for success in work you might have your office desk facing north east, and for good health the bed maybe facing south.
Its all very confusing but where i live people swear by this practise. I am not sure what to make of it really.

As for the ST video. I remember this episode from when I was around 10 years old. Me and my 7-or-so y/o friend watched this over and over and over again on our "new" video player. For some reason, this was as funny for us as it was when I saw this clip again a couple of years ago. Now I don't find that as funny anymore...
The name of the episode is "The Arena" and the reptile is called "Gorn" if I remember correctly.

Alot of people can imitate Capt. Kirk verbally but I have never seen a written imitation. And it was a good one at that!
One thing I never understood: Why Tiberius? A great general but after becoming emperor I understand he became a nasty character. Perhaps the intent was to focus on Tiberius' great military mind and triumphs.

I also wondered whether it would be different on the southern hemisphere.
In this article -point 4- is the explanation for not sleeping with your head due north.
SEVEN VASTU TIPS FOR THE BEDROOM
1. The door you enter to your bedroom is considered a symbol of the possibilities your life has to offer you and should open at least
ninety degrees to fully allow positive opportunities to flow to you. A door that cannot open fully will limit this support that makes your
life more interesting.
2. Upon entering, your bedroom, the first thing you see is something that gives you the feeling of peace and serenity. This could
be a photograph, a favorite quote, a painting or sculpture, even flowers will enhance these positive, life supporting feelings.
3. Removing clutter in your bedroom creates serenity and will help you feel more efficient and function optimally. Clutter,
especially under your bed, weighs you down and keeps your mind subtly connected to the past, which does not allow for forward
progress. Clutter represents all that has not been completed in your life. Wherever it exists, your life force energy (prana) becomes
stagnant. To tackle clutter, first take on small projects to help you avoid the feelings of being overwhelmed be the task at hand.
Clear areas of accumulated papers, magazines, and newspapers to help you create a sense of organization and space. Begin with
drawers and, as you feel inspired, focus on sections of your closet or storage areas. Remove everything from under your bed, as
storing clutter here will also affect your subconscious mind and cause disruption during sleep.
4. Sleep with your head to the south. Positive magnetic energy comes from the north. The blood in your body contains iron,
making your body magnetic with the positive polarity in your head. When you sleep with your head to the north, these two
positive polarities repel each other, disrupting the flow of blood and affecting your sleep and health.
5. Having a mirror on the wall opposite the foot of your bed can disturb your sleep. You throw off stress during the time you
sleep and a mirror will hold the stress and reflect it back to you when you wake up once you sit up in bed. Move the mirror or
cover it at night for more restful and replenishing sleep.
6. Try not to sleep in direct alignment with sharp corners. Sharp corners act as energy spears and create stress in the nervous
system. There is not serenity in a room that has sharp corners except by softening them by placing plants in front of them. You can
also try moving your bed away from direct alignment with them.
7. Exposed beams or slanted ceilings are symbols of oppression as they create a cutting effect. If your bed is directly
underneath an exposed beam or in a slanted room, it will be difficult to have peaceful rest with this energy looming above
you. One remedy for “lifting” this effect energetically is to hang bells from beams or slanted ceilings.
Dunno. Maybe Gene Roddenberry had a cat called Tiberius or something?

Its interesting that 4th point concerning not sleeping with the head facing north. It kind of makes sense even to a layman like myself.
But in general there are way too many varying factors..how can one follow all of them??..mirrors, beams, slanting roofs, corners, flowers..and to make it even more confusing the chinese version has a load more suggestions, some in contradiction to the vedic ones psted here.
I'll keep it simple and just sleep south I think. Will try it a while and see if it makes any difference.
