"Is television losing the trust of its audience?

Former controller of BBC One and now head of ITV, Michael Grade has criticised television companies for sometimes undermining the trust of their audiences.

Mr Grade told Radio 4's Today programme "The people who make programmes just don't understand that the basic ethic of broadcasting in this country is trust."

His comments follow a row over a trailer for a forthcoming BBC documentary series which features the Queen in an exchange with photographer Annie Leibovitz, followed by a clip of her apparently walking off.

The incident comes in the same week the BBC was fined £50,000 after the results of a Blue Peter competition were faked last November.

Do you agree with Michael Grade’s comments? Has the row undermined public trust in the media? Send us your comments and experiences. "

Odds on the Queen did storm off in a huff, some honest editor got it out in the trailer, and then the establishment has been pulling a heavy on the BBC in order to spin it their way?

The myth of the Royal family is one of the most important myths to control of British Society

Oh yes I entirely agree her royalness will have taken a strop against some smelly peasant instructing her what to do.

But I did think the comments,ie the mistrust of the media, quite refreshing.

If the BBC has any integrity at all it will sack Peter Fincham over his appauling mismanagement of the insult to the Queen
The gleeful way he promoted the programme to the detrement of a woman who has served this country with honour and loyalty is totally abhorant.

I got to this comment and could read no more!

As if the BBC are going to fake something against the mighty Q.

We should take advantage of the BBC's faux concern about trust in the media. Every time you spot some biased in innacurate reporting on the BBC's television channels, radio stations or websites let them know. They want to know after all. ;)

The biggest fear for paranoiacs in spontaneity, check her eyeballs popping out of her head over an unscripted request to take off her Garter robe. These fkers can't function without planning and protocol.
