I was wondering, ireland is a common law jurisdiction, if i serve notice to department of motor vehicles, garda(irish police) stating that understand that it is lawful to drive my car under common law, and i do not consent to drive with a license tax or insurance, can i do this without going the whole hog on the freeman route. thanks for the help

Apparently Common Law in Ireland is considered by many to be null and void as the deal which the Irish Earls signed was that the Magna Carta could only remain in effect in Ireland as long as their English Crown did not harm the people of Ireland. If this was violated the Brehon Law was to override Englsih Common law.

I think the English crown have murdered something like 4 million Irish people since then, so the Magna Carta is a scrap of paper in Ireland.

does that mean ireland isn't a common law jurisdiction, is there a provision in Brehon Law to travel freely without permission

Hi Seanie, It depends on who you ask........ I know that sounds strange.
Myself I have brehon Law and I use it. Its good law for me and I have no difficulty with it. That said, the Gardai are in Common Law Jurisdiction and also under UCC or Fleet Law ( Commerce ).
So it depends on you what do you want ?
The term " Driving " is understood to mean earning money when Travelling, along with Passenger ( you could however have a traveling companion )
The situation here in relation to all this is under test ( see Tpuc dot org look up user mcattack ) at the moment. Mcattack has unknowingly made some discoveries about acceptence of jurisdiction.......lol. I have spoken to him I'm sure he won't mind me saying that ( he's a nice guy ).
So anyway I have posted some videos on brehon law and there are many others some fantastic work by Pat Flannery on youtube.

Thanks spoonogsbackn, regarding Brehon Law, can you buy a book where this law is codified, and will this be recognized by a judge.
