I would love to hear your stories, especially if you have regressed back to ancient civilisations, other planets etc. Though any interesting titbit, I love hearing about past lives in general.
I haven't had this myself, but I would like to when the time is right.

Well i came across this by Google the key words.
QUOTE
11) The best explanation we can offer is this: In the continuum, what you think of as past, this moment and the future actually is a series of events that you are creating with your every thought, feeling and action; and what is termed “reincarnation” is a soul’s multiple lifetimes that are occurring simultaneously. That is why some people can “remember” another lifetime, why experiences in other lifetimes can affect this one, and why your present choices can and do influence other lifetimes.
----------------------
Does that help some? Reading through it lots resonate. But it's the same old, same old - what are the intentions (rhetorically) - but like a book, or words, you can take the good/light (whatever you want to call it) like selecting what resonates, but even then, we are using filtering and understanding with our pre-conceived ideas and experiences. No matter how great you think you are, we all do it. So i try to look at all value of all information, to form better balance and ask, 'how does this better me'?

Don't shoot me, i just posting for the O.P and i am fully aware of New Age programming, but to my understanding of regression,
how about this? >

Might help you find other sources of research? We have to read the great and the mundane to find the pin head of truths i guess.

It's near the top of my list for when I'm eighteen, though.

I did it a few years ago after reading a book on how to do it. I meditated for a while then did the steps that was written in the book and after a while I started to see vivid images of an african woman with a large head dress, one of the steps was to ask your self what your name is in your current location so I asked and a clear voice said benjamin in a south african voice so I figured I must be white then I asked how I died and a very clear image of a lion appeared infront of my face scared the living shit out of me and opened my eyes and I was in my room.I would like to find that book and try it again and see what else I could dig up......... I highly recomend trying it if u can find a book or something on the net detailed enough to help u self regress. Good luck

I haven't had this myself, but I would like to when the time is right.
i have had past life regression as a means to dealing with the underlying causes depression etc in this lifetime. I found it an invaluable process to see how what happened in my pasts has carried through with me into this lifetime.
a few of the ones that came up include ...
A life as knight - i 'relived' my own death which was an amazing experience. i was knifed in the back while standing on a beach. i was able to look down on my body and feel absolutely no pain.
A life where i was pregnant and the baby was too big to pass and died inside me. I died from the infection. I always felt it was in medieval times but after researching it recently it may have been more recent. It explains why i have an extreme fear of becoming pregnant and even dry wretch if i feel a pregnant tummy!
A life as a nun - dont have too much more info on this only that i saw my whole body change into her form.
A life as a soldier where i killed many native american indians, pillaged villages etc. Letting go off that guilt in this lifetime was a big shift. I believe in this life i carry the scar of a bullet wound through my third eye area out the back of my head via a birth mark- something my grandmother in this lifetime also had - from this life. I have been shown that i was shot by someone else in military uniform but am unsure why this happened.
A lifetime as a submarine captain. I was a big portly man. The sub came into some trouble as starting filling with water. I managed to save people but i drowned. I still havent been game to research this to see if i can find the actual incident!
A life where i was crippled and believed that bathing myself in this river would heal me. It's funny because when this life came up i started retaining fluid in my legs which led to a discovering of a tumor in my pituitary gland (around four and half years ago).
That's all i can remember but i'd def recommend the process as a way of shifting negative energy and helping you deal with and understand why you do the things you do in this life.

I am curious about it, but I'm not sure if I can trust the person who puts you in that state, neither do I understand why they charge so much money for such a thing.
If anyone has some good tips how to get into it (if possible) by yourself I'd love to know.;)

Thanks, very interesting perspectives there, as i believe we live many lives and the experiencing we retain in an unconscious sense that still exudes from us during each life.
Would love to hear this stuff, even in a fictional sense, it is damn interesting!!

I haven't had past life regression done, maybe I should try it as I keep having this dream at least 1 - 2 times a week.
In the dream I am seated in the cockpit of a Japanese imperial navy Zero fighter plane, somewhere in what I assume would be the pacific in WW2. I always start the dream with the plane taking off from the aircraft carrier to carry out a patrol to protect ships from possible allied attack. It seems within moments I and others in the patrol group come under attack from allied aircraft from a nearby carrier. I look out to the right trying to see the allied ships when I see a plane coming straight at me towards my flank. I can clearly see the muzzle flashes from it's machine guns and suddenly glass is breaking and rounds thud into the plane. I feel a wet sensation on my side and know that I have also been shot. I start to pass out from loss of blood as my zero makes it's dive towards the unforgiving sea.
I always get that horrible falling sensation and then wake up, that dream is so real and I'm convinced that in a previous life I was a fighter pilot for the Japanese navy.

Hi noesis, very interesting story,
who did the past life regressions for you and how much did they cost? I see you're from australia, where exactly?
I've googled to find regressionists in Adelaide, but how do I know whhom to trust?
One of them actualy, a lot of them seem too new-agey, and when you hear of someone who's won an award like "psychic of the year", it makes you question whether it's safe to go to them.

hi FT
I'm from Melbourne but formally of country Victoria. The guy i saw now works in Geelong, Victoria. Here's his website and info http://www.naturaltherapypages.com.au/therapist/10192
He would probably know of some other reputable therapists in your state.
When i saw him he charged around $70 for about an hour/hour and a half sesson. He also runs weekend, group sessions on past life where you can go deeper into it.
I havent done one of these but I have done aura, chakra and reiki with him and they've all been really worthwhile.
I hope this helps, but i'd def contact him and see if he knows of anyone closer to where you live.

I've had one regression with somebody else, and all the rest through my own resources as a kinesiologist. It's actually not all that hard to experience a past life - and certainly helps to make sense of some things you experience in this life!
I have had many lives together with my daughters - nearly half my lives on this planet have been spent with one or both of them.
My eldest daughter could remember when I and her sister were her children - explained a bit about some of our family dynamics.
She and I have had a number of lives together as husband and wife mainly, but also other relationships. She has tended to have more female lives, which fits with the way she comes across.
I have had more lives as a male - and was very much the tomboy as a kid, and have found it a challenge to connect with my feminine side. I'm also very strong physically for a female, though you wouldn't think it to look at me!
In a previous life my youngest daughter and I were brothers in feudal England - she was a big bear of a man who loved to drink and wrestle, and looked after me as I was a bit weedy. Strange that in this life she is bigger than me (taller and bigger build) and was always wanting to wrestle me and would get really annoyed that she couldn't beat me (and still hasn't!) That life seemed to have a strong influence on her in this life - I have always had to curb her tendency to hit others when she was younger - and as she's gotten older she has always been the one to stand up fearlessly for her friends and look after them when out clubbing. We both feel that there has been a strong 'hangover' of the energy of that life.
I've also had past lives with 2 of my cats - one as a sacred animal when I was a native American shaman - and in this life she has been a guide and assisted me in learning how to recognise and deal with all sorts of negative energies. The other cat was in the same life but he was a bear - he has assisted me also in this life with healing, and took on negative energies for me until I learnt how to deal with them. It may seem bizarre but they have been extremely special animals amongst the many I have had as pets - I can tell the difference between 'just an animal' and one with a higher purpose and consciousness - and that's a whole other story!
My ex and I had a number of lives together which were usually power struggles.
The first one I experienced I was a male leader of a tribe in Mongolia, hiding with what was left of my people and watching the barbarians ride across the desert as we hid amongst rocks. My ex was their leader and I felt so much anger and hatred towards him and his men, as they had killed my wife and child (our 2 daughters now) and most of my tribe. He took my family from me in that life, and I think of karma when he accuses me of doing the same to him in this life (I didn't, but that's the way he sees it)
Most of the 'regressions' related to resolving and defusing issues - it would come up as something to delve into and understand.
Some other lives were -
* as a scientist in Atlantis where I misused power, as a magician involved in the occult and dark energies
* a few lives as a healer/witch/shaman, some of which resulted in a lot of fear this time around due to having been burnt alive, locked up and generally outcast for my abilities
* as a young Islander boy who got taken by a shark
* a life as an Aboriginal, also a Tibetan monk, and a scribe in England
It's very interesting to discover these things about yourself, as they do seem to affect your behaviour in this life if there were unresolved issues - usually related to hanging on to anger, resentment or fear.
In reality though, we need to remember that there is no time - all these lives are occurring simultaneously, which is why experiencing a 'past life' and clearing the issues involved, can affect your current situation and lead to greater understanding of who you are.
One thing I have come to realise is that I have experienced lives in many roles - as victim and perpetrator, oppressor and freedom fighter, working for the dark and for the light, as have we all. As long as we learn from our life experiences and progress towards a higher state of being, the essence of those lives is irrelevant.
I have found with clients that the ones who seem to struggle the most with 'becoming a better person' are those who've had more previous incarnations - having had a lot of 'wasted' lives where they did not learn what they needed to, so had to keep coming back to master the 'lessons' they had chosen.
Everything you are today is the sum total of all of your previous lives and I can see a common theme or 'orientation' running through my lives, which fits with my personality and my interests and talents.
I actually had one 'regression' where I was a reptilian (before I came to this planet) and it was quite freaky to experience the consciousness level - the cold unemotionality of being as well as the lack of any perception of right and wrong - the reptilian was totally justified in whatever he did. It was a relief to step out of that energy I can tell you!
It's quite uncomfortable to confront the 'dark' side of yourself and recognise that it is an aspect of yourself - yet I know that if I hadn't experienced that, I wouldn't have known the opposite either and had the free will to choose my path.
By the way, I also found out that my daughters and I all came originally from the planet of Merope in the Pleiades.

My past life regression was quite extraordinary, my therapist named Susan got me into a deep catatonic level of trance, I can only describe it as a coma state where I couldn't feel my body, I was only awareness/consciousness and I couldn't feel my body. I noticed a light bulb appear around my chest area during when my eyes were closed. I read somewhere the heart chakra opens up when this happens, after this my body started to vibrate. Then my therapist started asking me questions such as where I was, what's my name etc...the answerers all of sudden popped into my mind and I was a guy called John trapped on an Island like that movie Cast Away starring Tom Hanks, she then asked me who i was with, the name Melissa popped into my head (I dont know if I was imagining this, but the answers came instantly), she then asked me how I died and I saw an image of a rock crushing me.
During the session, I heard something fall around the area where Susan was sitting, when the session ended, my therapist got me out of the trance and the lights in the room started flickering, she said that never happened before. I asked Susan did you hear something fall on the floor and said that she had a bottle of water on the table and it fell by itself. (I reckon the energy affected matter and the lights in the room).
Overall, it was an incredible experience, but I don't intuitively feel I need to do it again, I want to start using hypnotherapy/self hypnosis to develop myself and work on my own issues. :)

hey father ted . . . . glad you found it interesting :)
It's hard to describe exactly what Atlantis was like - it's not like going on a tour!
You tap into what is relevant to resolve your issue, which is generally of an emotional or spiritual nature, so that's what your focus is on.
I had a general sense of my life then and Atlantis seemed like descriptions you've probably already heard - an advanced society which worked with much more natural products than we do today, with technology based on crystals and recognising the power in the energy grid of the earth and use of sound and colour as well as sacred geometry.
People in general seemed calmer, more rational and community-minded - respectful, but as in any society there will be those who seek power for the sake of power.
In one life I appeared to be a scientist working with crystals - our power source- and through arrogance and ignoring the wishes of most, was a part of a group that created huge devastation - obviously not one of my greater lives :( - but definitely a life in which I learned a huge lesson - so worth it in the big picture.
Not much more I can add really.
As I said - to me, exploring past lives is a way to gain clarity in understanding yourself - which it certainly has done for me.
One thing I'd like to say here - some people question the 'reality' or 'truth' of past lives. Is it real? true? can you prove it?
I have asked myself many such questions over the years! - and what I say is that even if it's not real, and is all a figment of your over-active imagination, why would you choose to create that exact scenario as relevant, and get some benefit out of it?
I have experienced too many things which defy rational, left-brain logic and reasoning to believe anything other than 'anything is possible'

Cool stuff peps!! Really interesting to hear your accounts - i am very interested in trying this, but when i think of it, it doesn't feel like i have the resolve to do so. Maybe if i find the greater need?
I think, some of your accounts hold weight to the balancing of life through experiences, to attain higher awareness through each particular step, and we can obviously go both ways, it's our choice, will. Something i strongly, but not absolutely believe in.
I always suspected we come from soul families, to term it loosely, and we share lives in relation to each other, like we know each other in each life and we play a different role, and that contributes to the overall learning of the group, by playing our roles that allow both us, and the next person an opportunity to learn any particular lesson.
And the strongest of us carry heavy experiences.
Well intriguing nonetheless.
Cheers

I have emotional issues about not knowing the finer details of everything!:D
I have regressed in to my past life through a dream, which is one way of regressing. In my case though, it was "accidental."
Even though I don't like talking about it in too many details, all I can say is that it was in medieval times and in france.
Normally when people regress in to their past lives through dreams or even past-life regression therapy,
they see a traumatic event, which is causing them trouble in this lifetime. This is so that they can acknowledge it and then let go.
In my case I believe my past life was shown to me so that I could continue from where I left the last time,
but also so that I wouldn't repeat the same mistakes.
Right now Im trying to bring the talents I had then in to this lifetime,
but haven't found the right meditation/technique that would trigger this.

Hi Ted :D
great thread....
i can not so much get into my past lifes, though as a therapist i'm able to facilitate others' journey into past life realms. There are a few methods i work with, with crystals and with meditation - often in one-to-one sessions i'm able to see others' journey, as guided through vision: i see what the client is describing, often before they have fully described such. It is in this way a very similar aspect to soul retrieval, guiding a client through a mindscape without guiding them, going with what they see and allowing them to explore that realm - i guess that i act like a buffer in a sense.
For my own part i have been taken in vision while meditating to see 2 past life's in the crucades, which i can really associate with as i have in this life time always had a strong emotional association with wanting to visit Asia, Israel and Bethlehem, i almost moved to Tel Aviv many years ago! I have also seen myself in what i believed to be Judea and Tibet and a as a Native American indian, though for the most part i have only had glimpses of the later, whereas a great focus has been found from the times of the Crucades.
I also recognise my partner Karen in this life time as being with me in many past lifes, and likewise she feels the same, although none of our own recollections marry, bar one when she was my best friends sister. We lived in Nottingham, and i was based at the castle with her brother, we marched to the Holly land, i think this was the 3rd or 4th Crucade and my best friend never came back. He was posioned, and was feared fro dead. A holly woman gave him healing and weeks later he recovered. He decided that he didn't want to fight any longer and sneaked away to walk acroos the Asian continent, and i returned without him.
Some therpaists i have met, including one of my own tutors, believed that we can heal past life issues by changing them. I don't follow that concept, as what is in the past is in the past and happened - i feel that there is absolutely nothing we can do to change that. If we comited atrocities in a past life we can not go back and un-comit them, but we can surely learn from them. What we can also do is appologise for any wrong doing that we may have done and any upset that we may have caused, if we feel the need to: and this can help heal something that we carry with us in the here and now. By saying sorry to someone in a past life, even though it does not remove the catalytic concept for the appology, we can help to make amends for it - it might make that person feel better on a very subtle level and help them to understand that we can see the error we have made, that we are now better judges of what is right / wrong / moral / immoral etc, than we were then, and so any anger their soul may feel can dissipitate. The crux of that is if their soul rebels redemption, our karmic balance (if you want to call it that) is nullified - and vica versa, we can forgive others too, and in doing so we relinquish a none tangible karmic hold over that person, which in the here and now may result in us seeing those people in a different light, once we understand why they acted in a specific way.
And wow, this is turning into a ramble...

I can't remember the exact technique. However, I did a few sessions on confidence prior to the past life regression, which made it easy for me to get into a trance. It took about a good 5-10 mins to reach this level of trance and it felt so relaxing and calm.

This is the first time I heard of apology/forgiveness working such a way regarding past lives. Interesting.
i think that it helps break cycles and heal wounds both physical and none physical.
i regressed a lady one time and she went to the plains in native america, she saw me there as teacher, teaching her the ways of the people, she saw herself as a young boy. Days later, i had gone (perhaps i was a travelling shaman, i don't know, but that felt right at the time) and the village was attacked and the children masacred, she saw her self and the other children being attacked with their own bows and arrows. She was entering a time of a lot of pain, which showed through into the here and now, she began feeling the pain of past death again in the here and now.
i am a big fan of, if you have felt it once, then you do not need to feel that again, (the last thing you need when journeying to past lifes is to find yourself being burnt at the stake!) so i helped her move away from that scene, she was asking me questions, why. And she asked why i had been there showing the children these things only for them to be killed. So i guided her in that life, as an energy form to find the me from that time and ask. Which she did.
When we went back to the village, she described the bodies lying all around and the buildings burning. She found her own form and described what she was seeing. There were arrows in the boys body, So i took those arrows out, one from her shoulder and another from her foot. She said that she wanted to forgive the soldiers: and sinse that time the mobility issues she had had for many years were removed, she can raise her arm up to brush her hair, which she hasn't been able to do since childhood, and the recurring skin condition on her feet has healed completely. Since then this lady has helped set up a councelor service for abused women, the service also helps deal with the problem at cause by addressing the abusers as well as the women who are abused.
Amazing stuff.
But if you don't feel that you can appologise, or you can't accept anothers' wrong doing against you (i have seen those also) i think it is important to make a conscious affirmation to try to :) that then makes the act of forgiving or accepting a little easier when you are in a place to be ready
