Not to derail the thread, buuuuuuuuuuut................Jennifer Hudson's family was killed AFTER her rise to fame. After she'd starred in "Dream Girls," after she'd won her Oscar. If winning an Oscar doesn't qualify somebody as having risen to fame, then I don't know what does.
