Mmm, I'll go with Ray on this one.

Mr Grylls tends to eat raw (which is odd, considering his surname)

Mr Mears tend to make quite the banquet out of a few items :)

You have extra luck coming your way now! Universe dealt you a tricky hand :p now you can demand your reward.

Are you gonna tell us what food product it was?

I remember when I was a little kid I poured a huge bowl of cereal and I saw a tiny centipede after taking my first bite. I threw that whole bowl, milk and all, across the room and ran around screaming hahahaha...

Now I know not to eat cereal that has been left open for over a year :p I have also since gotten over fear of bugs and spiders etc. so the next time I see a bug in my food I'm gonna handle it nice and calm.

What food was it? I hope you haven't thrown it away. First either video or take a picture of it than cover it and make it seal tight so the bugs can't escape and arrange a method of transporting the food back to the supplier. You could be up for some serious compensation, especialy if you've ate some.

:D Ahh haha great one :D

I think lime summed it up pretty well

Inverts are best eaten well prepared and not by finding half of one in your food eh?

Forget ''Get milk' , - 'Get Lurgeys' instead ;)

(but yes, insects are viable foodstuffs :) )

lololol...

That happened to my brother some years ago when we were younger. He was craving Raisin Bran one day and walked to the market and bought a box. He pored himself a HUGE bowl and started munching away going 'mmmmmmmmmmm' until he realized there were these maggoty worms and moth thingys in it. :D

He then pulled out the remaining bag and lifted it to the sun and sure nuff there were these moths and worms all in it ALIVE!

The cereal was prolly on the shelf for a long time. It was a funny sight! He began gagging and I thought he might hurl any minute but he has a strong stomach, yikes! He marched down to the market with the cereal and demanded an explanation to the owner and she quickly snatched the box and threw it into the garbage behind her and offered him another box.

Mmm NO THANKS!

And Rixx, I would like my protein in larger amounts, thank you very much dear. :D:o

My boyfriend poured some dried rice into a pan before boiling it and as he looked he saw one of the grains moving - it was a fucking maggot!!

We no longer buy bags of rice larger than we would use in a whole meal. Who knows what's gonna lay its eggs in your food?

*shudder*

Many dirty secrets in the food processing industry.

I remember someone finding a mouse in a tin of backed beans. I guess it happens, but how long can we go on hoping for excellent food manufacture when it's all about cut back costs of processing, labor and wages.

Workers are rushed, most (from my experience) care of little consequence. More companies are producing a more larger range of foodstuffs, maybe more food from the 'back' shelves are being brought out to save costs, and are not being checked after being left for a longtime, thus being at risk to contamination.

In the fall of a society, manufacturing would suffer too, hygiene, less worker skills all amount to a less efficient system i guess.

We all need to be more efficient with food and materials, using our gardens that all have the ability to provide us with a percentage of our required food. I want to buy a generator but the fuel they use may be hard to come buy.

For those of us who live in flats with no gardens, you can still grow fruits and vegetables. We need to take responsibility for all our ends. And work together to become less needy on the system. How many bar codes do you buy?

Little things too. I re-use tea bags, little things count. :)

I am prepared to live completely self sufficient, and it begins with knowledge of horticulture, agriculture and zoology. Used to benefit all nature, you will notice within yourself a connection strengthening.

But as for finding lurgeys in your food. What can you do but complain to the manufacturers and company. Let them know we won't put up with it.

Or........just eat the frakkers :D
