I was on here earlier and noticed someone had posted a link to www.essene.com and went exploring the site. I found it very interesting and especially the Essene Gospels of Peace that were apparently translated by Edmond Szekely as he was allowed access to vatican stored documents.
Thanks to whoever posted this originally. I want to keep the info for reading later so have collected it into an ebook so thought I'd share it:

I especially find that this has a more whole view of the spiritual from the new testament. It includes not just the holy father above but Earth as mother which is more rounded and full view. It seems more complete. It has specific ideas on pure living for spirituality and how to eat and to treat and respect the Earth.

instead of teching us that jesus was a man, son of God, and God himself who was all clean, all pure, all kind and all good, who was then crucified, resurrected and went to Heaven, and shall return one day...

The Essene Gospel seem to actually teach us the teachings of Jesus. I'd say that is of greater value. Jesus even speaks of religions being created in His name. Priesthoods, churches, popes and papists, all of the wicked evil...

I'm glad you liked it. It (the Gospel of Peace) had a profound effect on me the first time I read it.

Keep in mind that it is somewhat questionable whether this "Gospel of Peace" ever existed: http://www.answers.com/Edmond%20Szekely
