hey guys,
havent been in the rooms for ages coz for the past 3 months i've been wishing for death to come and take me (as dramatic as it sound it is the simple truth). am pregnant and i'm in incredible pain in my stomach (i have always particularly not coped well with stomach acke, when i was much younger i attempted to take my own life with an overdose, i half complited the job until i was 'found' anyway i remember the most unberable stomach pain ever from the overdose... i think since then maybe my stomach is a no go area for me?) anyway am bearing all my business and my soul in exposing my self like this, but i dont care anymore.
All the docs say 'ur just one of the most unlucky ones' or its just 'women go through'... if i had the strengh i would have punched them in the face, but am a stick insect now as i cant eat...fortunately one doc took me seriously and gave me strong anti sickness meds, and put me on a drip as i was seriously dehydrated...people around me and docs often mention if i would agree that part of this is 'phycological' and yes i do agree however am feeling the physical pain every moment of everyday...what can i do? i feel 'dragged down to earth, almost suffocated'
am not alone, i have a husband, he tries to ease my pain but often i just resent him for his health, i know how that statement must sound but its what i think so i'm going to be honest. he is ok with my feelings and i can see it in his face how sorry he feels for me.
am getting over the 1st trimester and hopefully things are going to settle, but the thruth is i hate the though of another person in my body, i find it alien and disturbing. i recently left the london to be with my husband in another country, here i have no friends apart from my cat and my husband to talk to, so i came to the only other place i could think of to just 'talk'
Thank you so much for listening:(

Hello.
I take it that this is your first pregnancy? Usually the first trimester are a bit rough and sadly in your case more then rough . I have had 3 pregnancys and I did not suffer much during the pregnancy but whilst giving birth was a pure hell actually. I have had 2 emergency cesearian and 1 not so good birth whilst my child lost oxygene and are now handikapped mentally and autistic.
I hope you get trough the rest of the pregnancy without pain . Being pregnant is supposed to be the most amazing part of a womans life but sometimes its the opposite .
Try to avoid to eat a lot of hot spices etc that could make it worse. Drink a lot of water and avoid milk as well . Its advice . Avoid stress and unnecessary things . Just take it easy and try to relax you have 2 more trimesters to go .
Please if you want to ask me anything I´m sure you will be fine in the rest of your pregnancy .
Take Care

I don't have a detailed account of your illness.
However, from the treatment you have recieved from doctors, it is likely you have a condition known as 'hyperemesis gravidarum' - I'm not a doctor so don't take my word for it! Do some internet searches and find out for yourself.
If you have this condition you will need to be very strong. There is no immediate remedy, but it will certainly end when you give birth.
As I say - find out for yourself. If you know you have it, there is considerable advice available. Sometimes the condition wears off in a matter of months. For some unlucky women it can last for the whole pregnancy.
If you have it, you will need to do everything in your power not to let it get the better of you - it won't last forever.

hello angel,
i totally feel for you... i can't say i know what you're going through because i've never been pregnant- but it sounds to me like you're going through severe depression. i don't know if it's normal for some would-be mothers to feel this way, but i have heard accounts of women going through inexplainable lows during their trimester, just like mariag stated.
don't beat yourself up for experiencing bitterness and hatred if you do; i'm sure we have patches like that as well, your husband is there by your side to support and love you, he just wants to help. i hope his condition will improve as well, but as of now- your main priority should be getting yourself back together, because do remember, there is another life being nurtured inside you. i don't mean to intrude but did you want a baby in the first place?
are you getting enough nutrition? please do nourish and replenish yourself- eat a lot of natural, wholesome foods because your baby needs the nutrition too. you wouldn't want something terribly wrong to happen to him/her after giving birth... that would only add to your emotional and mental trauma. please go for a long walk after sunrise, do some deep breathing exercises (morning sun does have some truly uplifting 'properties').
are you on medication of some sort? i hope not, because it is not advisable for pregnant women to pop pills (from what i've read). try visiting a naturopath/homeopath and seeking some remedies for your condition.
i googled some info for you, and it seems that specific exercises for pregnant women can help curb or even ward off depression. try and find out which would be the best suited exercises for you. just get out into the open, spend some time with your husband and let your burden off your chest.
but most of all, remember that your condition can indirectly affect your foetus too. it's imperative you seek immediate help and consult a good doctor as to why you are in so much pain... my guess is that it's psychosomatic.
i sincerely hope you get better, and i send you all my love and good wishes.

...i found some information on 'light therapy' which has been known to help women going through antepartum depression angel, here are some links if you want to read more:
http://www.bio-medicine.org/medicine-news/Light-therapy-decreases-depression-during-pregnancy-1241-1/
http://depression.about.com/od/pregnancy/a/lighttherapy.htm
http://wellpostpartum.com/2008/11/16/light-therapy-useful-for-depression-during-pregnancy/
you will find a whole lot more while googling 'light therapy for antepartum depression'.
it seems to be a good solution as you would not be put on any anti-depressant medication, it's natural and uses light (specifically 'morning' light) by way of a 'light box' to help you overcome your emotional and mental state.
if you are living in the u.s. it would be great, as light therapy seems to be helping many women there.
however, do consult a naturopath or any doctor you are comfortable with before you give this a go.
i've been feeling low after reading your post- perhaps i'm feeling too much of your pain. i truly hope you get better- we're here to help you.
much love,
pf.

Is it the morning sickness? I have found that sucking a lemon helps a bit. Plus there are these wrist bands, known as Sea Bands, that go around the wrist and press on a nerve...they help some.
I was nauseous 24/7 for weeks while carrying my son, though I only threw up a few times. Stress aggravated it, as did certain smells.
Answer from Craig Oxley
Pregnancy
Definition:
The process of growth and development within a woman's body of a new person.
Herbal Aids:
Nausea, Vomiting (especially during pregnancy): See formula using turkey rhubarb, spearmint, cinnamon and cloves. [SNH p.187]
Strong Decoction of Wild Yam for Nausea of Pregnancy: See formula using wild yam, distilled water and glycerine. [SNH p.403]
Homemade Ginger Ale for Morning Sickness: We have discovered a wonderful recipe for Ginger Ale which is not only delicious, but it helps the nausea of pregnancy as well. Fortunately, it is a very pleasant remedy. Bring 2 gallons of water to a boil with 1 tablespoon ground Ginger. Allow to cool to lukewarm and strain. Add two cups of honey to the water-Ginger mixture and stir well. Add the juice of four lemons and just 1/4 teaspoon of dry baking yeast (wine yeast would work even better but is less available). Put into absolutely clean gallon jars and cover lightly. Allow to stand for two days. It should be nice and sparkly by now. If it gets too sparkly, refrigerate. This drink is popular with the whole family as well as a lady with morning sickness, and it is surely more wholesome than the sugared varieties purchased at stores. [NL 7-3]
Cramps from Pregnancy, Uterine Pains, or any Nervous Troubles During Pregnancy: See formula using cramp bark, squaw vine, wild yam and blue cohosh. [SNH p.333] Wild yam relaxes the muscular fibers, soothes the nerves, and gives positive relief from pains, especially those associated with bilious colic, gall stones, and uterus. It is of great value in nervousness, restlessness, nausea, and pains that are common to pregnancy. Wild yam has a potent tonic effect on the uterus when taken throughout the period of pregnancy. It is excellent for helping to promote the relief of cramps during pregnancy (especially during the latter stages), and will help greatly assist in preventing a miscarriage. Wild yam helps relieve flatulence of the stomach and bowels, and soothes any abdominal and intestinal irritations and spasms. [SNH p.402]
False Unicorn & Lobelia: Dr. Christopher's Anti-Miscarriage Formula: False Unicorn, 3 parts, and Lobelia, one part, constitute this combination. Unless otherwise specified, teas are always made with one teaspoon of herbs to a cup of distilled water (if obtainable). If hemorrhaging starts during pregnancy, stay in bed, use a bed pan when needed, and use 1/2 cup of this tea each 1/2 hour until bleeding stops, then each waking hour for one day, while in bed as much as possible and then three times in a day for three weeks. If bleeding continues instead of decreasing, see a doctor. [SNH p.532]
Pre-Natal Tea: Dr. Christopher's Pre-Natal Tea: Using this tea (or two or three capsules or tablets) morning and evening is an aid in giving elasticity to pelvic and vaginal area and strengthening the reproductive organs for easier delivery. Should be used only in the last six weeks before time of birth. These are the herbs used: Squaw Vine, Holy Thistle, Black Cohosh, Pennyroyal, False Unicorn, Raspberry Leaves, Lobelia. [SNH p.532]
Red Raspberry is a great agent for cleansing a canker condition of the mucous membranes in the alimentary tract, leaving the tissue toned. In pregnancy the infusion, when taken regularly, will quiet premature pains, and will produce a safe, speedy and easy delivery. Raspberry leaves stimulate, tone and regulate (both the leaves and fruit are high in citrate of iron which is the active alterative, blood-making, astringent and contractive agent for the reproductive area) before and during childbearing, assisting contractions and checking hemorrhage during labor, relieving after-pains, then strengthening, cleansing, and enriching the milk of the mother in the post-delivery period. [HHH p.4] Dr. Christopher recommended taking at least a daily cup of Red Raspberry tea throughout pregnancy. He said that in addition to its good effects on the uterus it is also anti-nausea. A woman who was expecting her ninth child often experienced nausea during pregnancy. When she suspected that she might be pregnant again she began taking the tea even before she began to feel morning sickness. She never experienced any discomfort so she wondered if it might just be an unusual or unhealthy pregnancy, so she discontinued the tea. Not long after she began to feel nausea! She quickly began to take the tea again and felt no discomfort since then. [UW-Red Raspberry]
Pregnancy Green Drink: Interestingly the [Red Raspberry] berries are said to provide many of the medicinal factors of the leaves. We have been encouraged by midwives to eat freely of the berries, if possible, for the same good effect during pregnancy--a lovely medicine! Since some people never get used to the taste of the tea a good way to use the leaves (aside from capsules or tablets) is to make a green drink. Our "pregnancy green drink", to which we have grown so accustomed that we can hardly imagine pregnancy without it, is made thus: To a cup or more of pineapple juice in a blender container, add a handful of Red Raspberry leaves, a handful of comfrey leaves and a few alfalfa leaves. Blend until the fibers of the leaves are broken down and drink immediately. You can add a couple of ice cubes or a little cold water if you want an icy or thinner drink. [UW-Red Raspberry]
Female Reproductive: Dr. Christopher's Herbal Aid for Female Reproductive Organs and Hormonal Changease: Dr. Christopher's Herbal Hormone Formula: If the female organs are in a questionable condition, it is well before and during pregnancy (also in the post-delivery period) to use our female corrective formula [Female Reproductive] (an herbal food to strengthen and rebuild the entire reproductive area) and the estrogen hormone combination [Hormonal Changease] (herbal aid) to assist in supplying needed hormones and estrogens in the correct amount. The human body is computerized to a point that it will take from an herbal formula such as this one the different types of estrogens and hormones it needs, and easily discard the ones not used. These herbs can be not only accepted into the body, but assimilated when needed and eliminated when not required. [HHH p.5]
Female Reproductive: Dr. Christopher's Herbal Aid for Female Reproductive Organs: This is an amazing combination of herbs to aid in rebuilding a malfunctioning reproductive system (uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, etc.). Over the years herbalists and patients have seen painful menstruations, heavy flowing, cramps, irregularity, etc., that have been helped and the patient now has a painless menstrual period, good menstrual timing, and a new outlook on life by using these aids to readjust the malfunctioning areas. The female corrective formula consists of three parts of golden seal root and one part of each of the following: blessed thistle, cayenne, cramp bark, false unicorn root, ginger, red raspberry leaves, squaw vine, and uva ursi.
Recommended dosage is one cup or 2 capsules or tablets morning and evening or three times a day if desired, six days a week for as long as required to get results desired. We have seen many severe cases who have had many years of suffering cleared up in 90 to 120 days. Some get relief sooner, some take longer--no two cases are alike. This is a food to rebuild the malfunctioning organs.
Hormonal Changease: Dr. Christopher's Herbal Hormone Formula: Here are herbs that are an aid to assist the function of developing the hormone and estrogen balance in both female and male. This combination consists of the following herbs: black cohosh, sarsaparilla, ginseng, blessed thistle herb, licorice root, false unicorn root and squaw vine. Adult suggested amount is one to three number 0 capsules morning and evening, as desired. As an aid to youth going into puberty, for expecting mothers, as well as at menopause times.
These two combinations, the female corrective [Female Reproductive] and the hormone-estrogen combinations [Hormonal Changease] can be used during the entire time of pregnancy (and also before and following), as it is an herbal food like any other food and "is there to be used, if needed," but can do no harm in any way.
If there is yeast infection and or Herpes Simplex before or during pregnancy, add also, the V.B.: Dr. Christopher's Vaginal and Rectal Herbal Bolus and the slant board routine [Yellow Dock Combination] included herein. These are very beneficial and yet are harmless to the mother and child-to-be. [HHH p.7]
Herbal Calcium Formula: Dr. Christopher's Calcium Formula: Another way to have a healthy child (one that is not a worry because of repeated sicknesses), a mother-to-be should use a good calcium formula during the entire pregnancy and also during the lactation period. There is a good herbal formula that we use which is strictly an assimilable vegetable (herbal) type combination. It consists of six parts horsetail grass, four parts comfrey root, three parts oat straw and one part lobelia. The horsetail grass is almost pure silica but by biological transmutation, so says renowned scientist Professor Louis C. Kervran, the human body is able to make the molecular change to transform the silica into assimilated calcium. To aid this we have a number of trace minerals in the comfrey that speeds up the transformation.
It is a known fact that there is a lack of adequate calcium in the diet of the average adult today. One reason, of course, is the use of processed "foods" which have been robbed of much of the calcium they originally had. The next cause of calcium deficiency is the use is the use of so much inorganic sugars and starches (the starches turn to sugars). This sugar leaches out the calcium from the body of the mother. The fetus is drawing on the calcium for self preservation, as well as leaching out by sugars of more and more calcium. The young mother-to-be then wonders why the varicose veins (breaking and darkening of veins), the loss of teeth during pregnancy, and the "Charlie horses" (cramps) and muscle weakness, etc. etc.! [HHH p.11]
Alfalfa: Many people consider Alfalfa an important herb to take throughout pregnancy. If an expectant mother is suffering from morning sickness, she can eat Alfalfa sprouts in her diet and can take from eight to sixteen tablets of Alfalfa until the condition is under control, then she can reduce the dosage (Mal:252). Many people consider that a daily green drink consisting of Alfalfa, comfrey and fresh red-raspberry leaves is an excellent pregnancy drink; it is preferred to a tea made of the same substances. After the birth, Alfalfa is sometimes taken to prevent hemorrhages. Some women have eaten Alfalfa tablets after their births like candy in order to shorten the postpartum bleeding time. Alfalfa is also thought to dramatically help bring the milk in for the nursing mother. It certainly enriches the quality of the milk and is much preferable to other hot beverages, such as regular tea, which can pollute the breast milk. It can be flavored with mint, orange peel, and honey. [UW-Alfalfa]
Irritable Bladder of Pregnancy: When the mother-to-be needs to urinate every few hours due to irritation and pressure; often when a mother sneezes or coughs or even walks, urine is expelled. Gravel Root will help alleviate this condition, as long as it does not result from actual fetal pressure on the bladder itself. [UW-Gravel Root]
Toxemia and Kelp: Kelp, as might be expected, is also of use in the female organs. It will tone up a weak uterus and help produce a more healthy baby, as the balanced minerals will be supplied fully with the use of Kelp. Some women who had lost babies in childbirth and others who had not been able to carry babies were helped by the use of Kelp by Dr. Powell's prescription of Kelp to carry healthy babies full term. Especially when toxemia threatens during the last stages of the pregnancy, Kelp, being a carrier of important minerals and a toner and an antiseptic, can help clear up an otherwise dangerous condition. [UW-Kelp]
Onions: To help build the blood or to help prevent obesity, to help provide strength during pregnancy or to help prevent toxemia, take Onions three times a week cooked, two times a week raw. [UW-Onions]
Heartburn during Pregnancy: Many women experience indigestion and heartburn, and sometimes gas, during pregnancy. This may be caused by the stomach having less room to do its work, nervous tension which inhibits good digestion, too many stomach acids, or a relaxed stomach, which allows foods to back up. Be sure that you do not take antacids during pregnancy. They further inhibit digestion, and they may cross over the placenta into the baby. To deal with these symptoms, Dr. Christopher first emphasized that we must chew our food. Many of us just gulp it down, and the large particles cause gas, fermentation, and pain. Chew well; even juices should be swished in the mouth to mix them with saliva and begin digestion. Don't drink with your meals; water or other liquids dilute the digestive fluids; you may, however, want to take broth or juices with the meal, but you should "chew" these, too. Increase your B-vitamin foods, including whole grains, brewer's yeast, wheat germ, yogurt, perhaps acidophilus. Don't smoke or drink tea or coffee; these irritate the stomach and increase heartburn. Eat small meals frequently; if you must be away from home, take juice, fruit and nuts with you to prevent your blood sugar going down and stomach acids overproducing. Papaya can aid digestion--fresh, dried or in tablets. Some women take tablets of activated charcoal to absorb gases in the system. Slippery elm gruel will alleviate heartburn and absorb gases and toxins. [EWH p.41]
Testimonials:
1. Scars from Caesarean Section Almost Prevent From Having More Children: A lady who had had three children by Caesarean section came to Dr. Christopher because she was "baby hungry." Medical doctors had told her that her scars were so bad that if she dared become pregnant again, the strain on her system would kill both her and her baby. Another section, they insisted, was totally impossible; one doctor crudely said that they couldn't even crochet her back together again if she attempted another pregnancy.
But she wanted another child. Dr. Christopher advised her to begin the usual program with Dr. John R. Christophers "Three Day Cleansing Program" once monthly, Dr. John R. Christophers "Mucusless Diet", the hormone-balancing [Hormonal Changease] and female corrective formulas [Female Reproductive]. In addition, he told her to do the Three Oil Massage, which is detailed in our section on Hair Loss, [EWH p.136]. The lady was to sunbathe as well, and to exercise.
Time passed, and Dr. Christopher had pretty much forgotten about this case. But the lady came to him with a baby in her arms. The scar tissue had begun to soften, and eventually became healthy tissue. She had an easy home birth vaginally, with no complications. This lady went on to have other children, grateful to Dr. Christopher for her healing with herbs. [EWH p.114]
2. Pre-Natal Tea: Dr. Christopher's Pre-Natal Tea: Amateur herbalists, after reading that Pennyroyal must not be taken during pregnancy because it is an abortive, criticized Dr. Christopher for including it in his five-week formula which is taken by expectant mothers during the last five weeks of their pregnancy to facilitate an easy labor and delivery. Dr. Christopher explained that the Pennyroyal is included there to help prepare the uterus for easy delivery and that the quantity is quite small compared to the rest of the formula. Also during the last five weeks his small amount acts as a tonic and regulator rather than a strong abortive. He told many stories of how women received great relief during their labors because of the use of the five-week formula. One woman who had had two very difficult and long labors before was questioning whether she wanted to have another baby. The ordeal seemed to her too difficult. She began to take the five-week formula for the third pregnancy and to her delight her labor was just a few short hours and the delivery extremely easy.
Another woman took the formula routinely with each of her pregnancies preceding the last five weeks with daily doses of red raspberry, comfrey, and alfalfa. Her labors were extremely short and easy. The first baby came within two hours, the second within an hour, the third within a half hour, and so on!
Pennyroyal is not a particularly trustworthy herb. It only works a quarter of the time anyway, and could cause problems with a fetus if it were taken during the first part of a pregnancy. Recently a woman took a large dose of Pennyroyal in order to induce an abortion and died, although it was found later that she intended to commit suicide. Instead of taking the herb, she took the essential oil, which contains the very concentrated medicinal factors. Three women were involved in this case. Two ingested a quarter ounce each and lived, while the third consumed a full ounce of the herb oil and died painfully. It was thought that all three women were trying to induce abortion although a subsequent investigation revealed that the woman had been despondent and had talked of suicide and that she probably knew from her former experience with herbs that the ounce of the oil would be lethal. However, the story was widely published and prompted the director of the Rocky Mountain Poison Control Center to label the health food industry "murderers". Many people take herbs without knowing the full risk. In all cases they should follow the advice of Dr. Christopher who recommended that we do not generally take herbs in extracted or concentrated forms but that we take the herb in its natural form or at the most, in a tincture, so that we have the balanced elements needed for proper use. 3. Red Raspberry: Dr. George Zofchak reported that almost forty years ago he and his wife had their first son and after a few years they decided they wanted more children. But his wife Irene had trouble carrying the babies and there were several miscarriages. Finally Dr. Zofchak learned that Red Raspberry leaves helped a woman in many ways throughout her pregnancy, strengthening the attachment of the fetus and easing delivery at the time of the birth. Although he had been selling herbs for some years he had overlooked the use of the Raspberry leaf tea. When his wife became pregnant again she began drinking a few cups of the tea during the pregnancy, which proceeded normally even though ten years had passed since the birth of their first son. They had two other children through the use of the Red Raspberry leaf tea (Bri:233). [UW-Red Raspberry]
4. Sickly Girl Gets Well and is Able to Get Pregnant: The Female Corrective Formula [Female Reproductive]will strengthen the reproductive system of the female, while the Prostate Formula [Male Urinary Tract] will help the prospective father. Both parents will benefit by the Hormone and Estrogen Formula [Hormonal Changease]. Both parents should begin these detoxification procedures before conception. During pregnancy, the mother should drink plenty of red raspberry leaf tea; approximately one quart a day. One may find a more detailed discussion on preparation for pregnancy in the volume Childhood Diseases, by John R. Christopher. People could do much to correct high risk pregnancies with the Creator's available remedies if only they would take the time to learn about how to care for the body.
I well remember an incident a number of years ago, of spending some time counseling with a young lady and her boy friend. They had brought the girl's parents with them. They were deeply in love and wanted to get married. However, the girl, as much as she loved this young man, had begged him not to pressure her to marry him because of her present physical condition. Her whole system was in such a deplorable condition that there was no menstrual cycle to be detected in any accuracy at all. The menstrual period would start; then shortly she would stop flowing and in several days might start again and continue for several weeks of heavy flow. Other times she would go six or eight weeks, or more, without another menstrual period. When her mother had come to see me a few days earlier, the girl had menstruated for so many weeks, she was anemic. Her period had been so long and frequent that she was so weak and run down, she spent much of her time in bed. This weak condition was so bad, she had been told by her doctor that she could never have children if she did get married or planned to; but she would be better off to remain single.
Her fiance insisted that they should get married and he would take care of her throughout her life, not worrying whether or not she could bear him children. But, she did not want to spend the rest of her life a sickly woman.
I advised them to follow a blood rebuilding program and both assist and encourage each other. The program started with three-day cleansing cycles and then included a mostly vegetarian (and mucusless) diet with lots of fresh fruits and vegetable salads, pure fruit and vegetable juices (especially carrot) and the use of Dr. Christopher's Female Corrective herbs [Female Reproductive] as well as our special formula for the glands. (Read his book "The Incurables" as well as "Three Day Cleanse" pamphlets, etc.) We promised that if they would cooperate and follow instructions, her bloodstream could be rebuilt and her system strengthened before the year was over.
They got married and he nursed her at home, watching her diet carefully, and helped her step by step to follow the mucusless diet and to use various herbs to assist in the rebuilding of her reproductive organs. They watched her blossom out over the next few months. In a little over a year of married life, the young lady became the proud mother of a healthy baby boy. How much nicer it is to be a healthy happy mother instead of an invalid! This couple proved that an "ounce of prevention" is better than a "pound of cure." [NL 2-5]
5. Rh Factor: Up in the Brigham City, Utah area I had an extremely interesting case come to our study group to see if we had a program that could be of some assistance. The lady wanting help had had three children and all three had Rh negative factor problems. (Each of the three children had to have their blood drained out and different blood filled in). All had a difficult time pulling through the ordeal and staying alive.
Any mother having this condition Rh factor, and having three children, one right after the other with the same problem, if she is an average woman, would say "no more"! But the good Lord made brave women from the beginning for a lot of us to have as valiant mothers who love holding and caring for another new baby so much that they will still take the chance! Anyway, to add insult to injury, this lady did not only have the Rh factor problem, but had just had open heart surgery. The obstetrician warned her that if she became pregnant again, she and/or the baby could die. But she wanted a large family.
The first thing we had her do was go on the "basics"; for instance, to use the lower bowel formula [Lower Bowel] and clean out the bowels, and drink a gallon of steam distilled water each day to keep flushing the system. She drank no less than a quart of red raspberry leaf tea, using two capsules of Blood Stream Formula: Dr. Christopher's Blood Purifying Formula and followed Dr. John R. Christophers "Three Day Cleansing Program" and Dr. John R. Christophers "Mucusless Diet".
This woman's program was watched carefully during the entire nine months and the progress was excellent. When the next baby came it was with no Rh factor problem (no blood pumped out and replaced).
This woman and her husband became parents of two more babies born a few years later, and both of them were free of this Rh negative factor.
It has been very satisfying to the parents, as well as to us who helped guide them, to know that this serious condition can be cured if we will but do something about it "naturally" as explained herein.
Good common sense, knowledge of right foods, and the Lord's good herbs can make life better for all of us if we will just use these methods. [NL 2-5]

Herbs in Pregnancy and Childbirth - Part I
The growing interest in home births has led people to search for drugless, non-toxic methods of maintaining the health of the mother and the baby during the months of pregnancy, through the process of delivery, and afterward, including the nursing period. Naturally, many have turned back to the old reliable herbs which have been used for centuries. In this newsletter we will summarize the herbs most commonly used by midwives during pre-natal care and childbirth. In these days we hear of so many complicated deliveries, unnecessary Cesarian sections and other situations where the well-being of the mother and baby are threatened. When we use the aids placed on the earth by the Good Lord, we are following the divine plan to bring children into the world who will be a blessing to those around them from the very beginning.
We have always maintained that pre-natal care begins at the time before conception. The quality of life can only be the sum total of the quality of its creators. Before marriage is the time to set the stage for healthy generations to follow. If all prospective parents would follow the mucusless diet, the new generation would appear and the thousand years of millennial peace would be heralded in by a new race of disease-free people.
If one has been living on the mucusless diet and is now expecting a new healthy child, remember, "faith without works" is not the proper way to go. To carry on the good works of proper diet and preparation for the new mother-to-be, one should include additional aids to purify her body, in order to pass on good health to the expected child.
Besides keeping away from mucus-forming and toxic "food stuffs," she should also be using "special" foods and wholistic procedures to assist the new one coming, and to also give her an easier time of pregnancy and delivery.
One of the herbal foods is red raspberry leaf tea. This is made by using a heaping teaspoon of red raspberry leaves to each cup of hot steam-distilled water, or one ounce of the herbs, (two heaping teaspoons, approximately) to each pint of distilled water. Never let the tea boil, but put the boiling water over the herbs and then steep fifteen or twenty minutes in a warm place, strain and drink. It is best to drink three or more cups a day of this tea during the entire pregnancy. It is a pleasant-tasting tea and is also anti-nausea.
To learn a little more about this wonderful red raspberry leaf tea, let's go to a good source for seeing what values it carries. We quote from TABER'S CYCLOPEDIC MEDICAL DICTIONARY (Clarence Wilbur Taber, F.A. David Co., Philadelphia):

Red raspberry is a great agent for cleansing a canker condition of the mucous membranes in the alimentary tract, leaving the tissue toned. In pregnancy the infusion, when taken regularly, will quiet premature pains, and will produce a safe, speedy and easy delivery. Raspberry leaves stimulate, tone and regulate (both the leaves and fruit are high in citrate of iron which is the active alterative, blood-making, astringent and contractive agent for the reproductive area) before and during childbearing, assisting contractions and checking hemorrhage during labor, relieving afterpains, then strengthening, cleansing, and enriching the milk of the mother in the post-delivery period. The tea is a valuable and effective agent for female menstrual problems, decreasing the menstrual flow without stopping it abruptly. Raspberry leaves are soothing and toning to the stomach and bowels, with healing action to sore mouths, sore throats, nausea, aphtha, stomatitis, diabetes, diarrhea and dysentery. They are especially valuable in stomach and bowel complaints of children.
Medicinal uses
Constipation, nausea, diarrhea, dysentery, diabetes, pregnancy, uterine hemorrhage, parturition, uterine cramps, labor pains, cholera infantum, leucorrhea, prolapsus uteri, prolapsus ani, hemorrhoids, dyspepsia, vomiting, colds, fevers, intestinal flu, bowel complaint, thrush, relaxed sore throat, ophthalmia, sore mouth, sore throat, spongy gums, ulcers, wounds, gonorrhea.
Preparation
Decoction, fluid extract, infusion, powder, tincture.
Before and during the pregnancy it is extremely important to see that the reproductive organs are functioning properly, and as well as being healthy and producing the correct amounts of hormones and estrogens.
If the female organs are in a questionable condition, it is well before and during pregnancy (also in the post-delivery period) to use our female corrective formula (an herbal food to strengthen and rebuild the entire reproductive area) and the estrogen-hormone combination (herbal aid) to assist in supplying needed hormones and estrogens in the correct amount. The human body is computerized to a point that it will take from an herbal formula such as this one the different types of estrogens and hormones it needs, and easily discard the ones not used. These herbs can be not only accepted into the body, but assimilated when needed and eliminated when not required. Many of the inorganic drugs can be accepted into the body and only a small amount assimilated. The rest of the prescription, being inorganic and of a low vibration, cannot be eliminated with ease and lies in weakened areas, accumulative, to cause side-effects and aftereffects as time progresses.
Herbal aid for female reproductive organs
This is an amazing combination of herbs to aid in rebuilding a malfunctioning reproductive system (uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, etc.) Over the years herbalists and patients have seen painful menstruations, heavy flowing, cramps, irregularity, etc., that have been helped and the patient now has a painless menstrual period, good menstrual timing, and a new outlook on life by using these aids to readjust the malfunctioning areas.
Herbal aids to equalize hormones and estrogen
Here are herbs that are an aid to assist the function of developing the hormone and estrogen balance in both female and male. This combination consists of the following herbs: black cohosh, sarsaparilla, ginseng, blessed thistle herb, licorice root, false unicorn root and squaw vine. Adult suggested amount is one to three number "0" capsules morning and evening, as desired. Used as an aid for youth going into puberty, for expecting mothers, as well as at menopause times.
These two combinations, the female corrective and the hormone-estrogen combinations can be used during the entire time of pregnancy (and also before and following) as it is an herbal food like any other food and "is there to be used, if needed," but can do NO harm in any way.
If there is yeast infection and/or Herpes Simplex before or during pregnancy, add also the vaginal-rectal Bolus Combination and the slant board routine included herein. These are very beneficial and yet are harmless to the mother and child-to-be.
Slant board combination
As an aid in prolapsed uterus, bowel or other organs, to assist in giving relief, make concentrated tea (simmer down to half its amount) of six parts oak bark, three parts mullein herb, four parts yellow dock root, three parts walnut bark or leaves, six parts comfrey root, one part lobelia, three parts marshmallow root. Inject with a syringe (while head down on slant board) into vagina, 1/4 to ½ cup or more; or rectum, one cup or more; for prolapsus or hemorrhoid problems, leave in as long as is possible before voiding. Dose suggested is one-fourth to one cup, one or more times in a day. When the tea is injected into the abdominal area and while on the slant board, knead and massage the pelvic and abdominal area to exercise the muscles, so the herbal tea (food) will be assimilated into the organs.
THE FATHER TO BE
We are also giving here an herbal formula for the father-to-be. If his reproductive organs are in good clean healthy condition the seed for conception will be an improvement over seed of questionable quality. The slant board routine following the rectal bolus at night will also, along with the prostate combination, proper mucusless diet and reproductive organ rebuilding, be an asset to the future family and another aid in preventing childhood diseases.
An aid for the prostate area
In case of malfunction we suggest this combination to assist the male; one part of each of cayenne, ginger, golden seal root, gravel root or queen of the meadow root, juniper berries, marshmallow root, parsley root or herb, uva ursi leaves. This will dissolve the stones that are in the kidneys, as well as clean out other sedimentation and infection in the prostate. Mix the powders and place in No."0" capsules and take two or more morning and night, with parsley tea when possible.
ANTI-MISCARRIAGE FORMULA
A mother-to-be looks forward to the arrival of the new little one, then one day she panics at the discovery of early spotting and then hemorrhaging. This generally is indicative of miscarriage-aborting from weakened conditions of the reproductive organs.
Over the years we have seen many of these cases, because parents-to-be have turned away from good nutrition and healthful living practices so the over-all picture of the human culture is a sad one, more and more heartaches from miscarriage.
We offer you a formula for those who have indication of aborting. This combination should always be on hand because this emergency can appear so quickly that it is shocking and frightening.
Anti-miscarriage formula
The anti-miscarriage formula consists of these two herbs: false unicorn and lobelia. Unless otherwise specified, teas are always made with one teaspoon of herbs to a cup of distilled water if obtainable. If hemorrhaging starts during pregnancy, stay in bed, use a bed pan when needed, and use ½ cup of this tea each ½ hour until bleeding stops, then each waking hour for one day, while in bed as much as possible, and then three times in a day for three weeks. If bleeding continues instead of decreasing, see a doctor.
This combination of false unicorn and lobelia will stop the bleeding as explained in the instructions--if the fetus is in a good healthy condition. If the fetus is dead, in many cases the dead fetus is aborted with ease. Without this help, the fetus, when dead, will rarely abort, lying in the womb and causing infection.
PRE-NATAL
We wish to give you another wonderful formula that is used five or six weeks before delivery time. This formula has both black cohosh and pennyroyal herbs in it, which, according to many, are not to be used during times of pregnancy because they could, it is said, cause miscarriage.
This is not so at this late stage (five or six weeks before delivery). If it were so, how could thousands have used this formula so successfully for many years? No, you need have no fear because the amateur herbalist reads that someone had used pennyroyal or black cohosh alone and miscarriage had occurred. We have never had one case of this verified to us. On the other hand we have received angry calls from groups of promiscuous young people who, after reading the warning we gave in our textbook that people have said "these herbs could cause abortion," has used them for this purpose. These young people had given their unmarried pregnant girl-friends quantities of these herbs but no abortion occurred, so they and the girls were angry because of the failure of these herbs (to abort).
We have had, just recently, a report come to us about a young mother-to-be for the second time who had never heard of the "pre-natal combination" and her previous labor was very severe (lasted around 30 hours). After she became pregnant the second time she heard about this pre-natal combination, so got some, used it the last week before delivery, and cut the labor time down to about four hours. She just recently had her third baby with a very short labor and more ease than she had dreamed possible, after using the pre-natal formula for the last six weeks. Many people believe the change from difficult to easy delivery results from using red raspberry leaf tea (and squaw vine tea) throughout the nine months of pregnancy and using the pre-natal combination during the last six weeks. Of course, one of the main reasons one can have a healthy baby is when the mother is faithful with the mucusless diet and the three-day cleanse. This cleanse should be used at least once each month during pregnancy as well as later (during the time of lactation).
Pre-natal formula
Using this tea (or two or three capsules or tablets) morning and evening is an aid in giving elasticity to the pelvic and vaginal area and strengthening the reproductive organs for easier delivery. It should be used only in the last six weeks before time of birth. The herbs used in our number 27 combination are: squaw vine, holy thistle, black cohosh, pennyroyal, false unicorn, raspberry leaves, and lobelia.
CALCIUM
Another way to have a healthy child (one that is not a worry because of repeated sicknesses), is for a mother-to-be to use a good calcium formula during the entire pregnancy and also during the lactation period.
The most important thing to remember (even if you do not follow any other of the wonderful advice given during pregnancy) is to KEEP THE BOWELS CLEAN. A clogged plumbing and sewage system can only result in auto-intoxication. The retained morbid waste in the colon has the uncanny ability to seep through to the other organs causing irritation and inflammation. This is especially undesirable in the case where the uterus is providing a temporary home for a new little life. If you keep the bowels open (this means at least three bowel movements a day if you eat three meals a day) that baby will say 'Thank you, Mom!' The way we can do this, of course, is by using the Lower Bowel Formula consisting of one part barberry, one part cayenne, two parts cascara sagrada, one part ginger, one part golden seal, one part lobelia, one part raspberry leaves, one part turkey rhubarb, and one part fennel. The functions of the above herbs are described in the booklets The Three Day Cleanse and Rejuvenation Through Elimination.
One of the finest chapters on pre-natal advice appears in Jethro Kloss's book Back To Eden. In addition to a good diet, cleanliness, loose, comfortable dress, fresh air, sunshine, and positive mental attitude and surroundings, Kloss suggests the use of some herbs. There is the red raspberry tea for relief of nausea and vomiting, to promote uterine contractions and prevent hemorrhaging during labor. Spikenard is suggested for easy and painless childbirth. Many of the midwives we know tell their women not to wait until labor to take spikenard. It may be used throughout the pregnancy as a tea. Spikenard (Aralia racemosa) is an old Indian remedy for the facilitation of childbirth.
Kloss also recommends hot water douche made of white oak bark or wild alum root to arrest hemorrhage if necessary after delivery. Lobelia, as a relaxant during labor, can be used. We generally use it in a tincture form. The tincture is made with apple cider vinegar. One of the old pillars of our church, Priddy Meeks, used lobelia extensively in childbirth cases. He ascribed "supernatural" powers to the herb, and brought many mothers through labor the way Nature intended: without the original curse placed upon Adam and Eve to "bear children in pain and suffering."
Here is an anti-nausea formula we have used throughout the years for morning sickness:
½ oz. Turkey Rhubarb (powdered)
½ oz. powdered cinnamon
½ oz. powdered cloves
Simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes. Pour over 1 oz. spearmint leaves. Let it steep. Strain and drink by the teaspoonful or by the cupful. This formula can also be used for nausea other than morning sickness; in motion sickness, for example. A small thermos bottle will hold enough for an automobile trip.
TESTIMONIALS
My main reason for my letter is: My neighbor's little son of 3 ½ had a fever of 104 F. for three days. I brought him one cup of honey-cider vinegar and water and the antispasmodic tincture. He drank ½ cup of the mixture (1 tsp. of each) took ½ dropper of the tincture and in three hours the fever was broken--his mother thought it was a miracle. So do I.
--West Hartford, CT
I wish to thank you for the marvelous material you provide--l have experienced many beautiful results by using herbs and foods. There are many testimonials that I could write, but I will give just one--my first healing, as a result of following your guidelines. An open and draining abdomen, caused by extensive/ massive surgery, totally healed within 7 days time by using comfrey poultices and by taking BF&C. A special thanks to you. The abdomen was draining for three years!
--Huntington Beach, CA
I have been using the lower bowel tonic (Naturalax #2) according to the method described in "talks on Rejuvenation Through Elimination" with very satisfactory results.
--Boulder, CO.
I have tried your comfrey herb combination for dissolving calcified bone spurs (caused by arthritis when a teenager). My metatarsal arch in left foot was in such bad shape, it had become very painful to walk. The herb began bringing results immediately.
I would like to relate the experience that I had with Dr. Christopher's Bone, Flesh & Cartilage formula. I was working in a kitchen when I dropped a #10 can on my large toe. The bone was crushed and even after proper care, it didn't set straight. Even though this was an old injury, I believed that Dr. Christopher's formula would help, even if it was only to relieve the discomfort. I made an ointment of the formula using olive oil as the base. I applied this ointment liberally on my toe, but after several weeks, to my surprise, my toe lost all structural support. I was naturally quite concerned, so I called Dr. Christopher, who wasn't very surprised, but told me to keep applying the ointment. I did and to my amazement, the cartilage formed, hardened into bone and now you can't even tell that it had been deformed.

HERBS IN THE NEWS
Herbs are experiencing an "herbal renaissance" according to Mary Jane Dittmar, assistant editor of Health Foods Business, in an article in the April 1982 issue entitled, "Herbal Renaissance." The past decade has seen a renewed interest in herbs for medicinal uses. Sales have continued to rise at a rapid rate of growth and people are becoming more aware of the uses of herbs. The article points out many Americans are still naive and uninformed when it comes to herbs. Government policies and regulations form a big obstacle to the growth of herbalism in America. Herbal formulas and popular single herbs are the biggest selling types of herbal products on the market today, the article adds. Books and other media on herbs are good educational items for promoting a greater awareness in herbs, it said.
It concludes by saying, "will the present 'Herbal Renaissance' be followed by widespread enlightenment as was the great historical Renaissance? That remains to be seen. In the meantime, some industry indicators seem to be pointing in that direction."
The controversial Delaney Clause of the FDA law governing food additives may be best modified, yet not without its risks, according to Mark Blumenthal of Sweethardt Herbs, in his column, "Speaking of Herbs," Health Foods Business, March 1982.
Big food industries want to change or eliminate the clause, which prevents cancer-causing foods to be manufactured and sold. Natural food advocates would not generally want such items to be on the market. However, he points out, there are two sides to the issue--if strictly enforced, even carrots, potatoes, peanuts, etc., should be banned because of very minute amounts of toxic chemical in them, and the same story with some herbs. He notes, "do we develop some type of risk/benefit assessment policy in which it is acknowledged that there are really no safe foods, only the safe use of foods?"
The Wall Street Journal reports anti-arthritis drugs may have definite side affects and that they have already caused deaths of a few users. Benoxaprofen, including the trademarked drug Oraflex, an Eli Lilly & Co. anti-arthritis drug, was only recently approved by the FDA, but was brought under attack by Ralph Nader's Health Research Group citing reports of 12 users of the drug in England dying after using it. Side affects including abnormal liver function have also been pointed out about these types of drugs.
An FDA spokesman claims the FDA has insufficient data on liver problem side effects of the drug and that disease, or other use of drugs, may have contributed to the deaths caused by the drug.
In England, where this drug has been used for two years, a number of articles and comments on the side effects of Benoxaprofen, such as jaundice and photosensitivity, have appeared in British medical journals since the drug was approved for sale in the U.S. where some 64,000 prescriptions have already been filled since mid-May 1982.

HERBS IN PREGNANCY AND CHILDBIRTH - Part II
MISCELLANEOUS HERBS
We will now go into some of the individual herbs and their uses during pregnancy and labor.
Alfalfa
Alfalfa grows in abundance all over the globe. It has a tap root which extends as far down into the soil as 70 or more feet in search of water. The minerals picked up by the plant at this great depth are more numerous than those a plant can obtain at the surface of the ground. In fact, alfalfa contains all the known vitamins and minerals. In addition, it contains most of the essential amino acids. It is a perfect food. If the mother-to-be would make use of this God-given herb, she would rarely suffer the malnutrition that so many of our unenlightened women do today. Alfalfa also contains hormones. These hormones are utilized by the pituitary gland. This is the gland which regulates labor. It is essential to have this gland in top condition. Vitamin K, present in alfalfa, is the substance which has been called "the clotting factor." Many unnecessary hemorrhages can be prevented by the daily ingestion of alfalfa tea or tablets during pregnancy. After delivery, the ingestion of alfalfa tablets will facilitate the healing of the uterus.
Women who do not have a lot of money to spend on fancy vitamins and food supplements (and even those who do) would do well to take no less that 15 alfalfa tablets daily. Alfalfa is also a well-known kidney cleanser.
Squaw Vine
(Mitchella Repens) This herb was a favorite of North American Indian women for ages. They made a tea during pregnancy to insure an easy childbirth. We are all familiar with the stories of these extremely healthy ladies who were able to deliver their children and be up and about their normal activities the same day. The herb was usually taken for several weeks before confinement.
St. John's Wort
(Hypericum Perforatum) This valuable herb is a nervine. It is often used by midwives to alleviate the afterpains of the uterus after delivery. It can be taken in tea or capsule form.
Blue Cohosh
(Caulophyllum Thalictroides) Blue cohosh is an excellent emmenagogue. It is preferable to the drugs ergot or pitocin in expediting delivery in cases where the delay results from weakness, tiredness, or lack of nervous energy. The remarkable thing about this herb is that "it will not cause premature labor" and only acts upon the uterus when the baby is due.
Lady's Slipper Root
(Cypripedium pubescens) This is a great anodyne (pain reliever) and nervine herb. It may safely be used during labor to relieve stress and possible pain. It acts most quickly when taken as a tea. For colic and after pains, the following formula may be helpful:
3 parts lady's slipper
2 parts wild yam
1 part ginger
Make an infusion. Let it steep for 20 minutes.
Shepherd's Purse
(Capsella bursa-pastoris) This herb is one of the most important to midwives. It has been used to stop internal hemorrhages in the body. If hemorrhage occurs after delivery, shepherd's purse is a Godsend to have on hand. It is usually given as a hot tea.
Cayenne
Capsicum has also been known to arrest hemorrhage. Our local midwives use it in a drink also made with apple cider vinegar, distilled water and honey to taste. They give it the women who may need extra strength to go through labor. It has helped people out of shock. Cayenne pepper tincture has been employed also in cases where the baby has had difficulty breathing. A few drops of the tincture on the tongue has started (or startled) some babies into taking their first deep breath. Cayenne taken during pregnancy can only do good. It will keep the calcium level high, provide Vitamin A and stimulate circulation.
Olive oil
A bottle of unopened olive oil should be kept with the birth supplies. It aids the delivery of the baby's head when applied to the perineum. The tearing which is often possible during delivery is usually prevented by the use of olive oil and wheat germ oil (massaged into the perennial area) throughout pregnancy to give the skin elasticity. Both these oils should be taken internally as well.
BF&C Ointment
BF & C ointment will heal any soreness after delivery. Use the fomentation of BF&C for actual tears.
Green Drink
Many of the midwives have recommended that their people use a daily green drink. This may be made in a blender using any of the fresh greens such as comfrey, spinach, chard, etc. The addition of pineapple juice, fresh or canned, may enhance the flavor. Alfalfa, mint, or lamb's quarter may also be added for extra nutriments.
IRON SUPPLEMENTS
Iron is essential during pregnancy. If the iron level is low, the following herbs are sure to aid: Yellow Dock, Spirulina, and Grape Juice. Many of the midwives also use a commercial preparation from fruits high in iron and herbs. It is called Floradix.
VITAMIN E
Wheat germ oil is a very good source. In addition, the pre-soaked and low-heated grains will provide additional vitamin E as well as other essential minerals.
HERBS FOR LACTATION
The production of mother's milk can be increased through the use of herbs. The ones with which we have been most successful through our 40 years of practice are Blessed Thistle for increased milk production, red raspberry for the enrichment of milk, and marshmallow root, also for milk production. Years ago, we treated a lady who had adopted a little Indian baby. The lady was a regal-looking Scandinavian woman with blonde hair. She wanted more than anything to nurse that baby. We put her on the mucusless diet, the cleansing program, and copious amounts of blessed thistle tea. She was told to nurse the baby in addition to this formula a little each day. Within a few weeks, milk began to flow from her breasts. Blessed thistle contains hormones which are the scientific reason for lactation. But it seemed like a miracle to her.
Other herbs which can be used to increase milk production are: dill, fennel, carrot, anise, and of course, alfalfa. A tea can be made from the single herbs or a combination.
Mother's milk is like a blood transfusion to the baby. It is a computerized formula made daily to sustain the life outside the womb until the child is able to eat by himself. Let's watch what we put into the precious new life. Only the finest ingredients should go into the production of milk.
The late Dr. Coffin in his 1853 publication Treatise on Midwifery used herbs extensively in his practice. He was able to effortlessly deliver many little ones into the world without the complications encountered by the local doctors of his day who employed the inorganic drugs and disgusting metal implements. Dr. Coffin maintained, as we do, that pregnancy and childbirth are not illnesses, but natural occurrences which can be occasions for great joy. When we keep things simple as the Good Lord intended, we may experience the beauty and sacred responsibility of bringing new lives into the world.

Place herbs in 2 quarts water and let stand 12 hours. Bring to a boil and simmer 30 minutes. Strain, reduce liquid to 1 pint. Add 4 oz. glycerine. Take 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon in warm water. This formula is greatly recommended by herbalist Dr. Edward Shook for cramps, vomiting in pregnancy, nervous indigestion, delayed menstruation, hysteria, congestion and hardening of the liver, enuresis, cystitis, and to prevent abortion.

BOOK REVIEWS
CAPSICUM
(Springville, Utah; Christopher Publications, 1980, 168 pages, Illustrated)
Dr. John Raymond Christopher has a long established record of testimonials concerning cures with the use of cayenne pepper. Never before in the history of herbology has such a comprehensive volume been available on the subject.
Dr. Christopher draws upon ancient history, archaeological evidence, historical medical testimonies, and modern medical journal articles to diffuse the knowledge of cayenne pepper to the populace. He also relies on his own extensive experience with the herb. There are chapters giving botanical information and gardening techniques on capsicum. It is very entertaining and informative.

Wild yam relaxes the muscular fibers, soothes the nerves, and gives positive relief from pains, especially those associated with bilious colic, gall stones, and uterus. It is of great value in nervousness, restlessness, nausea, and pains that are common to pregnancy. Wild yam has a potent tonic effect on the uterus when taken throughout the period of pregnancy. It is excellent for relieving the trying cramps during pregnancy (especially during the latter stages), and will greatly assist in preventing a miscarriage. Wild yam relieves flatulence of the stomach and bowels, and soothes any abdominal and intestinal irritations and spasms.

hey guys,
havent been in the rooms for ages coz for the past 3 months i've been wishing for death to come and take me (as dramatic as it sound it is the simple truth). am pregnant and i'm in incredible pain in my stomach (i have always particularly not coped well with stomach acke, when i was much younger i attempted to take my own life with an overdose, i half complited the job until i was 'found' anyway i remember the most unberable stomach pain ever from the overdose... i think since then maybe my stomach is a no go area for me?) anyway am bearing all my business and my soul in exposing my self like this, but i dont care anymore.
Thank you so much for listening:(
Hi Hun,
You poor love. I haven't got the time just now to go into a long expressive post, but I certainly feel for you.
I'll send you some healing energy.
All the best . you can get through this. Never give up hope.

Hi Angel, I definately feel for you- i have no idea what you are going through on the physical pain front but i am also pregnant and have experienced difficulties during my pregnancy so far, im now 6mths and into my 3rd trimester. I know that psychologicaly they idea of having a 'person' growing inside you can be challenging and i went through similar thoughts but they did pass and now i wouldnt be without my little man inside me- although i want to meet him, i cant bear the thought of him not being in me and cant remember a time when he wasnt but i think thats just natures way.
I dont know what you are suffering with, but whatever it is i truly wish all the love and healing in the world, preganancy is not only the most wonderful gift in the world but also at times the hardest. Its when we progress from 'woman' to 'mother', its testing to say the least.
If you need anything, advice, a shoulder, just someone to rant at...pm me anytime hun!! Always here for you- all the guys here have been wonderful to me throughout my testing times during my pregnancy!!
God Bless you! :) xxxx

Yes i have that 'hyper gravidum' condition, due to severe vomiting, they put me on a drip to give me water and some anti sickness pills, they are very strong so am not happy using them, but for about a week i used them nearly everyday coz i was throwing up in excess and the other option would have been to be admitted into hospital and have even stronger meds.
thank you for your help

hello angel,
i totally feel for you... i can't say i know what you're going through because i've never been pregnant- but it sounds to me like you're going through severe depression. i don't know if it's normal for some would-be mothers to feel this way, but i have heard accounts of women going through inexplainable lows during their trimester, just like mariag stated.
don't beat yourself up for experiencing bitterness and hatred if you do; i'm sure we have patches like that as well, your husband is there by your side to support and love you, he just wants to help. i hope his condition will improve as well, but as of now- your main priority should be getting yourself back together, because do remember, there is another life being nurtured inside you. i don't mean to intrude but did you want a baby in the first place?
are you getting enough nutrition? please do nourish and replenish yourself- eat a lot of natural, wholesome foods because your baby needs the nutrition too. you wouldn't want something terribly wrong to happen to him/her after giving birth... that would only add to your emotional and mental trauma. please go for a long walk after sunrise, do some deep breathing exercises (morning sun does have some truly uplifting 'properties').
are you on medication of some sort? i hope not, because it is not advisable for pregnant women to pop pills (from what i've read). try visiting a naturopath/homeopath and seeking some remedies for your condition.
i googled some info for you, and it seems that specific exercises for pregnant women can help curb or even ward off depression. try and find out which would be the best suited exercises for you. just get out into the open, spend some time with your husband and let your burden off your chest.
but most of all, remember that your condition can indirectly affect your foetus too. it's imperative you seek immediate help and consult a good doctor as to why you are in so much pain... my guess is that it's psychosomatic.
i sincerely hope you get better, and i send you all my love and good wishes.
am going to make an effort to go out in the early evening now, i have been stuck at home for all these months, i got pregnant right away a few months after we got married, i think it was the excitment of it all... the funny thing is the day before i found out i was pregnant we decided to actually wait but then it was too late, it took a couple of weeks for this intense pain to actually fully kick in, and during the time i was still ok we were happy to have the baby... am not helping myself with my current state of mind as well as the actual symptoms but am feeling better today... i have taken strong meds and i do hope the baby can cope with the situation am in.
please dont feel down due to me, am feeling better coz of u guys xx

...i'm glad you're feeling better :) and yeah, don't remain cooped up at home, it only adds to your misery and makes you sink further in your shell- i was going through severe depression at one point- it was a time when i truly lacked any will or desire to step out. when i did, at the behest of my friends, i realised how much i'd missed!
morning sun is even better angel, it does heal you because sunlight at the break of day or a little after contains the highest concentration of vitamin d; a lack of which has been known to cause depression or at least speed up its process. try and go for a morning walk if you can- if you can't just step out and smell the fresh air any time of the day. you will find that when you do, being in touch with yourself is so much easier. also make sure to take deep breaths- it's such a normal thing to overlook the way we breathe we forget that a simple thing such as inhaling slow and deep is actually key to your physical and mental well being!
i hope your hubby is fine too, you should defo try some mild exercises specifically suited for pregnancy- i have no clue, you can ask lottie about this.
eat well- there may be times you don't have an appetite buh yeah just eat for two anyway :p most of all, think happy thoughts because negativity can be channelled to your baby as well.
you feeling a tad better is a sign that you have the ability to get back on your feet and kick ass asap :D there are many wonderful people on here you can talk to- so yeah take good care, and keep us updated.

I'm sorry you're having a difficult time. Pregnancy is definitely one of the craziest experiences! It's physically exhausting and it can emotionally rock you to your core.
I too had difficulties with both of my pregnancies. I'm a small person, so I had trouble carrying the extra weight. I had sciatic pain and some days I couldn't walk. I had an emergency c-section with my first. In my second pregnancy, they found out I had too much amniotic fluid so I had another c-section.
Emotionally, it can be difficult too. It's normal to feel disconnected from the baby; especially in the first trimester. Some women don't bond with the baby until after it's born. I had extreme hormonal issues and started having extremely violent thoughts. I went on medication and things were so much better.
Despite all of this, I would do it again in a heartbeat! The love I have for my kids is unlike any other I'll ever feel. It's the most awesome and challenging thing, to have kids.
Good luck to you and I hope you start feeling better!

Looks like a lot of help posted on this thread, hope that you feel all of the good intentions. Try to keep your body comfortable and feel loving toward yourself and possibly speak to the little one. Try to connect with him/her spiritually. Maybe ask for back rubs, foot, hand, scalp massages. Anything that keeps you feeling loved and peaceful. Try to go through the pain and come out on the other side of it. If you can look on net for some support group for chronic pain sufferers, who may share some breathing techniques to cope with constant pain. I would also try to meditate and see if you can come up with a reason that your body may give you. Another thought is someone experienced in homeopathy. The vibration to help you is the key, and you may need a little help to get there. Best of luck and wishes. It is hard to see the big picture when you are overwhelmed by the present.

Hi angel.....you have had some great advise, so I don't feel inclined to give you anymore.
I can sense that what you really need most of all is lots of love, understanding and spiritual energy sent to you to help strengthen your sense of belonging and to help ground you here. You have felt an inner sadness/loneliness of not belonging here for so long and have been struggled to deal with this.. Having another life to be responsible for now has only worsened this struggle for you.
My only advice would be for the other posters on this thread to send you as much love as they can for a while, as I'm sure it will help you so much. We all have love to spare others when they need it the most.
I am sending you love right now. :)

Hope you are feeling better angel. I didn't have your condition when I was pregnant, but for the 1st trimester of my pregnancy I was sick all day everyday, and my sense of smell became very sensitive, even the natural smell of certain people sent my rushing to the loo to be sick. I also felt very emotional and couldn't stop crying. It can be a strange time
As soon as I entered the 2nd trimester it wore off in a matter of 2 days, so I hope this happens to you too :)

hey guys,
havent been in the rooms for ages coz for the past 3 months i've been wishing for death to come and take me (as dramatic as it sound it is the simple truth). am pregnant and i'm in incredible pain in my stomach (i have always particularly not coped well with stomach acke, when i was much younger i attempted to take my own life with an overdose, i half complited the job until i was 'found' anyway i remember the most unberable stomach pain ever from the overdose... i think since then maybe my stomach is a no go area for me?) anyway am bearing all my business and my soul in exposing my self like this, but i dont care anymore.

Hi shadowangel,
I'm glad to see you have happier times now and your scan sounds great!
We all need certain Vitamins Minerals Amino-acids and Trace-elements to achieve optimum health and during pregnancy we need a little more! Not the eat for two wives-tale but the extra nutrients which your baby will benefit from before and after your baby is born.
At particular times like pregnancy you can experience the immune system weakening - various hormones are needed to regulate the numerous metabolic processes you are going through - primarily Vitamin C and the B Vitamins can be lacking and Vitamin E, selenium and soya isoflavonoids need to support and strengthen the immune system functions.
Vitamins and minerals, amino-acids and trace elements work better in synergy and don't work properly alone. Organic Vitamins are 100% better than shop bought chemically manufactured ones.
take care

Dear angel
I was really sad about your thread opening, and it still gives me a lot to think what you ahve to go through.... it's great that you're feeling a bit better now!
During my pregnancy I vomited the whole day for more than half a year and had to sleep from 15 hours upwards daily.... But your situation is just off imagination!
As others have said before me, I'll send you light and an army of angels, I know that you'll be fine one day!!!! Take care of yourself....
All my love, Antiem

hey angel.. i'm glad you've been feeling better, but just in case your mood swings or the lows just persist, please try these home remedies (i've been going through a rather 'obsessive' phase of home-remedy digging because i've found they work wonders):
1. Add some fresh Rose petals to a cup of boiling water. Add sugar and drink whenever feeling depressed.
2. Make a fine mixture of 1/8 teaspoon of nutmeg powder and 1 tablespoon of freshly extracted gooseberry juice. Take this mixture 3 times a day.
3. Licorice tea also works wonders. No more than three cups of tea should be used per day of licorice tea.
4. 5HTP is a substance extracted from the seedpods of a plant called Griffonia simplicifolia. It produces serotonin in the body and is helpful in relieving innate highs and lows.
5. An Apple eaten with milk and honey also helps uplift you.
6. A neutral immersion bath for one hour daily is also helpful in such cases.
7. Root of asparagus- one or two grams of the powder of the dry root of asparagus can be taken once daily.
8. Yoga postures for pregnant women and/or Tai Chi and meditation. Nothing can heal you like these spiritual exercises. Just an hour a day of gentle stretches, deep breathing and movements can make you feel on top of the world.
9. Prepare a tea by adding 1/4-teaspoon tulsi (holy basil) and 1/2 teaspoon of sage per cup of hot water and drink this tea twice a day.
10. Powder the seeds of 2 green cardamoms. Add to 1 cup of boiling water, add sugar and drink this tea twice a day.
11. Use herbs such as aloe, burdock, chrysanthemum, coconut, coriander, cumin, mint, pomegranate, sandalwood, and natural (not refined) sugar in your cooking (except sandalwood- inhaling fresh sandalwood eases your mind and relaxes your nerves) while you can.
12. Take your largest meal at noon; don't skip lunch.
please try any of these at home- since they're natural you wouldn't have to worry about your baby. my mom also suffered from antepartum depression, and she used to have two cups of holy basil + sage tea and practice mild yoga moves- she started feeling much better after just a few days.
take care, much love- and just relax, stay calm and get enough rest.
