I tried searching the forum for this but couldnt find it, i imagine its in this place somwhere, at least i hope so because this a very important 'COINCIDENCE' some might say, only those drowning in denial that is...

"The above cover is the Adventures of Superman #596, published on September 12, 2001. One of the first things I noticed about the cover was that Superman's emblem had a black background, not the traditional yellow. In the sub-title "This is not a job for Superman"

On the first panel of page two, we get this shot.

Lexcorp's twin towers are partially destroyed, with helicopters swirling about. Anyone who knows about comics knows that they are written and drawn months before the publish date, and this one went on sale a day after 911. The plot of the story is that there has been an alien invasion which has left much of the Earth damaged, and Superman hasn't lifted a finger to help with the rebuilding.

Of course J'onn J'onzz, the Martian Manhunter is going to make an appearance. It seems that every time the disaster was foreseen in D.C. Comics, he was there. In this panel he wants to know why Supes isn't helping, and in the background you can see the twin towers. Only in this shot, they are much less damaged. On another monitor to the right you can see the Great Pyramid of Cheops.

Uh-oh! There is a crisis in Antarctica. It seems the ice is melting for no good reason. To the Left of J'onn you can see the towers now appearing undamaged. And of course we must have a shot of the pyramids in this panel as well.

The Weather Wizard is melting the ice in Antarctica, and is putting it on Youtube! While most people would be shocked that a man in bright spandex is standing in the middle of the South Pole, I am more curious as to why a polar bear is 12000 miles away from his home. Everyone knows that polar bears are native to the Arctic, not the Antartic. Everyone except the editors at D.C. Comics it would seem.

Theres not much to tell for the rest of the issue. Superman easily dispatches the weather Wizard, and then saves a construction worker from falling. The construction worker then tells off president Luthor.

So in this comic book that was released on September 12, 2001, we have an alien invasion, 911, global warming, Isis, the pyramids, and weather control. Not to mention my favorite martian. Of course no comic book review would be complete without posting the back cover, as they usually synch well with the rest of the story. I wonder what it will be this time. They could have a bunch of college cheerleaders cheering on bradly tanks and it wouldn't surprise me.

Okay, I lied, It does surprise me. The game is called "Advance Wars". Go beavers! Build that dam!"

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Just remember, this was released 1 day after 9/11, mereley a coincidence i suppose, rotflmfaooOoOoo:p

Heres proof of the release date:

"DC Comics announced today that the Adventures of Superman #596 would be returnable. The issue shipped to stores last Wednesday, the day after the horrific attack on the twin towers of World Trade Center in New York City. Due to an unfortunate coincidence the Superman comic features a scene in which Metropolis's twin LexCorp Towers have sustained damage due to events in the 'Our Worlds at War' storyline."

Wow... this is interesting

I partially think there could be some hints leaked to various media about 911 beforehand (look at the passport date of Neo in the Matrix movie and the cover of the album by the Coup showing two towers with smoke coming out of them.)

I don't know why this would be though.

I also have started thinking that some creative people might be picking up on subtle clues.... like a sort of precognition of [patterns in time. I'm not sure if this is true as I'm not sure I believe in this stuff although I did see one fascinating experiment about precognition.

I wonder this because I'm an artist and on 2001, August 22 I took the photo of a finished painting which was really different for me. Most of my paintings were just normal (abstract) landscapes, still lifes, women.... nothing too outlandish but this one I started back in January I just felt like getting finished in august after it sat around for months. I put it in the gallery before Sept 11. It shows this violent looking character with huge fangs pulling a stopper out of a river and four boats being sucked into the drain. A large figure that looks a bit like the statue of liberty holds up a candle and the other arm tries to keep a large apple from falling down to the teethy violent character.

I called the painting "The Balance of Powers"

------------

The experiment in precognition was quite interesting. It had images shown to test subjects on a screen and they were hooked up to some sensors. With each image shown, a graph of some readings of body reaction was made. The thing was that slightly before each image was shown, a small peak in the graph occured. That's not the interesting thing though .... if an image was horrible, the graph showed a higher peak but also the peak before the image was shown was also higher! So this seems to show somewhat of a precognition that the image will be horrible.

It's all interesting but I'm not aware of many experiments like that.

----------------

The weird thing about my painting is after 911 happened I started thinking about this painting that I had just finished. Looking at a photo of it, I thought the two parts of the tree at the top which look like legs with shoes on them looked like the WTC towers. That part of the painting was just a reference to a tree in my city by a school that I always saw as lookijn g like two legs sticking out of the ground so I put it in this painting. A little while later, I was on the bus and that tree had been cut down! I always thought that was really weird .... the tree that I ut into that painting as two legs with shoes and later thought reminded me of the two WTC buildings was now cut down.

Of course the rational side of me thinks it's all coincidence or me reading things into it but what if our minds are sort of receptive to some "ripples in time".

------------

Of course the Superman comic makes more direct references that are pretty exact so I agree that it is pretty amazing!

Another thing about the Superman cover that struck me first was the tie. It is yellow and black like the colours in nauture of hornets or other dangerous animals and also in human culcture, colours of danger signs. It also just made me think of a rope noose for some reason.

I had just recently heard reference to the left eye being only shown in some images as some symbol and here we see SUperman's left eye only.
