"and the first port of call is.............Iran" :D (he didn't say this)

Everyone was cheering when he said a world without nukes.
But was he just warming up the crowd with a smokescreen?

:p Which begs the question, who is the Lex Luthor in this case? :)

Aaahaha

So he thinks people are going to listen to him?

As long as there are humans, there will be war. As long as there are wars, there will be nukes (and whatever advance weaponry despots can get their bloodied hands on).

I think he should take off his rose coloured glasses.

In the film, Lex Luthor steals a strand of Superman's hair and attaches it to the last nuclear weapon that Superman hurls into the sun, creating his evil clone and ultimate adversary.

Well this is where I part from some. I think there is far too much of an automatic "NO" and automatic pessmistic reaction on this forum at times about pretty much everything that is put up for consideration. It is true that humanity has played that game up till now, and unless it takes a good look at itself and its motivations (also wishful thinking, I know), it is likely it will continue until it sees how it aint helping anyone. Yes, perhaps it is a wild idealism that made him make such statements, but there is also the truth that if people simply give up and say - "Humanity is what it is. It will never change" then it 'certainly' won't change. That is guaranteed. Whatever Obama is, whatever the motives (personal idealism, or being used by some shadowy 'New World Order' to impliment something) I can't help but admire the positivity of possibility that is his character. It's something most people shun nowadays. With my Iran comment, it was a cynical joke I know :p

Regardless of who said what when, the US military would never comply with that even if it was a Presidential order. National Security an all that.

i think that nukes are the only wepon that non new world order countries have at their disposal that could upset their plans especially the 50 or so russian suitcase atomic bombs that thay have no idea where they are.
if they get rid of the nukes then no-one has any defence against their tessla wepons.

but thats just my opinion :p

If he was being sincere, he was being naive, because it's never going to happen - everybody's pillaged each other too often to ever leave themselves vulnerable, and they all know they couldn't trust each other - as do we.

I believe in all sorts of mystical, magical things, but asking us to believe Beelzebub Obama wants a global riddance of nukes is just waaaaay beyond the bounds of credibility.

Nice try though Barrack - I expect some poor, idealistic suckers will be even more smitten with you now.

Obama extends the hand of friendship to Iran. Netanyahu extends the hand of friendship to the entire Arab world. Obama and co. devise a plan to save the world from economic meltdown. Obama declares he wants to rid the world of nukes.

We're already living in a golden age, don't you see?! Nothing can destroy our -
