Next time you are tempted to snitch on your neighbour cos their garden grass is too long, or whatever, send the opposite gender, ie if your neighbour is male send a female to discuss the effects on your life. Grow a backbone or something. I speak to my neighbours when I have a problem with any of their behaviour. I havent been assaulted yet, I've never had to call the police. Things can be dealt with if you actually speak to people instead of living in your own bubble and running to the authorities with petty nonsense.
It also helps if you are tolerant, I mean people do have parties sometimes - its called fun. It's only kicking the arse out of it if they have them during working week nights. (if you work) If you work anti-social hours then tough titties as I say and I did work nightshift for a while.
Try walking in your community instead of always taking the car to the local shop. Say "hello" to your neighbours - they generally dont bite.
Don't isolate yourself, because not only will you start believing its a bad scarey neighbourhood - you are actually more likely to be targeted for burglary or car crime if you are aloof and unknown to the locals.
Rebuild your community by getting to know people.

Great advice notaslave.
Think you might be preaching to the choir though.
This will have more effect if posted in the "mainstream".
Even so, good to hear from a thinking human for a change.
