On "Bill Moyers Journal" last week, they had on a fellow, E.O.Wilson, twice Pulitzer prize winner, who had some rather startling things to say...
That there are those who believe that "the total obliteration of nature would be a good thing". That it would be best to live in a "totally synthetic ecosystem". He never actually identifies who "those" are.
