CIA Director Leon Panetta: Hollywood's Got the CIA Wrong
March 24, 2009 03:26 PM ET | Paul Bedard | Permanent Link | Print
By Paul Bedard, Washington Whispers
He's been on the job only a month, but new CIA Director Leon Panetta is fast becoming familiar with life as the nation's top spy. Returning home from his first trip to countries that included India and Pakistan, he issued a note to his troops that captured both the odd nature of the job and his pride in the CIA's workforce. "For all of you who have ever been on a [foreign assignment] and called home to say, 'Honey, I can't tell you where I am, who I'm with, or what I'm doing, but I'm fine,' I now have a better sense of what you go through," Panetta said in the memo dispatched while flying home. "I came away incredibly impressed by the professionalism and dedication of our Agency personnel, many serving in dangerous locations away from their families," he added.
What's more, he noted, the job of a CIA agent is a lot different from the Hollywood version. He knows because he watched movies like the Bourne Supremacy on the flight back to Washington. "Yes, I admit I've watched a Bourne movie and three other spy flicks on the flight home and smiled when I thought about how Hollywood has no idea about what we can really do. The great skill and contribution of our work would make a better movie . . . but no one would believe it!"

Good Question!
I always wondered how they find it so hard to rid of people like Castro and Chavez makes you think they are all part of the plan

such as a plethora of fake terrorism or maybe training terrorists and creating new movements..
..I think he underestimates the power of the video camera, when it comes to belief, I mean a movie about the new world order with mystery babylon history, and the covert take over of powerful governments, the control of money and its supply, along with contrived terrorist events and the manipulation of the owned media.. would make for essential viewing and would in fact wake up the masses compared to site like ours, which is targeted constantly by shills, trolls and all kinds of character assassinators!
the sheeple look to the TV screen for answers as well as idea's...the greatest mind control device in history!
Operation Gladio.
I posted the movie on DI a short time ago. If you've seen it, good.
If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. Get out the popcorn, it's about 2 hours long.
I'll get the link in a sec.
Here it is:

If you want to have an idea of what 'they' are capable of today, 'Operation Gladio' will enlighten you to what 'they' were capable of in recent history.

No, merely click on the link and watch. Since the movie is always getting removed and thus reappearing elsewhere (in whole or broken into parts), I clicked the link just minutes ago to make sure it still works. It does contain English subtitles where necessary.

What Panetta is doing is two things.
1: He is trying to give his "officers" a positive image in the eys of the media. showing that they are good and wholesome. but then again thats what the Nazi SS command done to keep their officers motivated.
2: Panetta is quite right in saying Hollweird doesnt know what the CIA could do. Because if they did show all the things the CIA could do then it would be like a horror movie like Saw. Panetta was being sarcastic and sending out a warning to the world at the same time.
You need to remember that the american media portrayed George Bush senior has a lovable old man who wouldnt hurt a fly in the 1980's. but this was the guy who got the CIA dealing and smuggling drugs , and had the CIA involved with peadophiles and child murders. And Bush Snr himself was quite partial to taking drugs and being in the company of small children alone.
Dont let Panetta's media savy approach catch you unguard. The devil comes with a smile....

I'm really sorry. I haven't been computer savvy since the Reagan administration, personally. I've been scouting around for the movie elsewhere for you but all I've found is alot of writings about it and some documentaries commenting about it. I found on youtube a 5 part series entitled 'Gladio'. I'm not sure if it's the same movie. The one I recommended is the original 1992 BBC documentary. If nothing else check out the youtube one. I haven't watched it so I am not familiar with its content. I'll be perfectly honest with you, I would download the movie on CD and send to you gladly but I'm on a Vista but Vista isn't compatible with anything. Grrr!
Can anyone offer advice as to how to get him to be able to view the movie?

O sorry. You have to change the extension at the end. So say. you download the video, rename it whatever you want. Say you rename it 'Video1' At the end just put this.
Video1.mp4
Mp4 is a certain video format
Or you could do: Video1.avi
Avi is another one.
If you wanted the audio just from the video then use this: Video.mp3
Did you get that? Its that simple. Just save it to your desktop
I download tons of videos from youtube and sites with movies, videos, music and put them on my itouch to listen or watch on my way to work. If you have any problems let me know ;)
By the way, do you use Mac or PC?
Just throwing it out there: The movie contains French and Italian languages at least. As a person who only knows English I found the English subtitles invaluable. :)

'Hollywood' has no idea, lol thats funny.
What/who is he referring to exactly?
Charlie sheen, bruce willis, woddy harris, and on and on and on...they all know the score. they KNOW 911 is an inside job, and they know that the rabbit hole goes very very deep, right to and thru the CIA.
He is just showing his ignorance if he thinks that the big movie lot owners like 20th century fox and Columbia Pictures and others dont know what the CIA/NSA/NASA is really into, and really upto.
Nothing but disinformation from this guy. Well that shouldnt surprise anyone.
Why else would be be appointed in the first place?
He has to be an exceptional liar, with no scruples other than the ones given to him by his Masters.

To me this is implying with a big question mark? What the CIA can really do, plus a lot of links to two and three hour movies? Can some body please just post a few bullet points about what they can really do. I'm interested but I don't have a lot of time to download movies, let alone watch them. Cheers.
Honestly Im not trying to be arguementative or whatever, I just dont see anything particularly sinister in this article. To me he comes across as a family man who watches a few spy movies on the plane on the way home and is proud of the fact that Hollywood dont know "everything" thats going on (which would be a good thing for a secret agency) and that they can do a whole lot more unbleiveable stuff, which is good isnt it? That a countries secret service can do good stuff?
Now having said that, we know not to believe anything we read in the media, but this article isn't in and of its self sinsiter unless you know something we dont, and if so, then spill the beans.

If thats what you choose to believe, then....thats what you choose to believe.
If you dont have time to watch movies, i suppose you wont have time to read a few books?
