www.humansfuture.org (http://www.humansfuture.org)

A recently lunched website covers many topics regarding to human future and emerging technologies as genetic engineering, artificial intelligence and transhumanism...etc

My favourite section of that site is The Future Central (http://www.humansfuture.org/future_the_future_central.php.htm)

Cheers ;)

There is an argument that Human evolution has reached its end because civilization has removed natural selection.

I've been in debates where that came up. I agree, there is something very significant to the position that artificial selection (by the works of man, thru "civilization") has cancelled out or nullified natural selection, making evol a thing of the past effectively. Interesting subject, inclusive of transhumanism and A.I.

You can say evolution of DNA has run its course.
Now knowledge is the new DNA. And as it is passed down and expanded upon, technological advancement is the new form of species selection.

Seems like humans might just become genetically engineered "robots" for sex war and science. That is, if a revolution doesn't take place..

Natural selection among humans isnt over, it has just reached another state. For the last few centuries, maybe even millenia we havent been evolving physically, but mentally. Hopefully morally as well since that is obviously needed.

AI might already exist fully fledged, and I am guessing it will become public within the next few years. There have already been made several different kinds of AI, but they want it to be self improving, which is claimed it would make it surpass humans. I tend to disagree since I doubt AI will be able to be as advanced as our minds. We have much more than our 5 senses which also seems in the process of being something the public knows about.

Its amazing how many still claim telepathy and telekinesis just doesnt exist and is impossible. Well it is for those who refuse to believe in it and ignores it blatantly.

That's a pretty weak argument. Mutations cause the changes in organisms. Civilizations did not cause the end to mutations, as they occur all the time and they are supposed to be random. The only thing lack of natural selection would do is slow the process because the mating pool is so large now.
