well we've been warned about dirty bombs plenty of times before and nothings happened yet, so I wouldn't worry too much. the fear comes from the warnings alone.

You don't actually have to have a physical attack to cause fear.

News reports are coming in that medical staff in Central London are treating a number of people for what is thought to be a form of Smallpox, it is believed to be a highly virulent and possibly weaponised version with an extremely high mortality rate. People within the M25 are being told to stay inside, keep their windows and doors shut, avoid contact with tap water and await instructions from the authorities. Keep your radios tuned to local radio to keep informed of any developments.
Anyone outside the M25 area must not travel inside the area, emergency services have been positioned to stop travel both inside and outside the main M25 area.


So what would happen is everyone would be inside, they would only have the news which was fed to them, the authorities would be visiting properties, there would be no telephone or internet communication, people would be taken away. The troublemakers would be the first to be rounded up, police and ambulance staff would swoop on your house, subdue you and take you away, your neighbours would see someone being carried out moaning strapped to a stretcher, poor blighter etc.
That is how it would happen, no one would know that there was no chemical or biological attack, no one would be out, any one who was out would be taken away and become another "victim of terrorism." The new normality would then commence. Those in other cities and towns would then get similar treatment, there would then be no great hurry to collect those in more outlying areas.
