Albert Einstein, Charles Hapgood, and other scientists accepted that the Earth's crust "floats" on a turbulent molten lava ocean. It is turbulent because the earth core is spinning faster than the earth crust. Have you noticed that the wind and ocean currents spin faster than the crustal land mass? The faster spinning center is pulling the winds and tides around by its massive gravitational pull. Just beneath our feet lies the source for every future volcano, earth quake, tsunami, and polar shift. Any sense of absolute safety and security we might have about the Earth is false. Anyone who has experienced an earth quake of 7 or above on the Richter Scale will admit this to be an absolutely terrifying experience. In a very brief moment, our true vulnerability and utter dependence upon the earth for stability is revealed. And govt. is powerless to do anything about it.

Science has discovered a relationship between lunar phases (full moons) and the occurance of earth quakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunamis. Although this is not an absolute link, there is evidence to suggest that earth quakes, volcanos, tsunamis, and earth shifts are more likely to occur around the time of extremely high tides. This probably means that there is a "tide" in the lava ocean under the crust that may very well cause these events.

IS NEW ZEALAND THE SAFEST PLACE ON EARTH TO LIVE?
Einstein was "electrified" when he learned of Hapgood's theory in "Path of the Poles", whereby ice build-up at the polar caps could eventually cause the crust to "slide" over the lava ocean until the centrifugal force of the spinning Earth brought those ice caps around to the equator. Geological evidence suggests that something like this has happened repeatedly during the "life" of the planet; the magnetic poles seem to have shifted at least 171 known times. In other words, a "critical mass" of ice, coupled with an extremely high lunar influence, may be all that is necessary to trigger the next polar shift in the Earth's crust; leading to massive earth quakes, volcanos, and tsunamis beyond the scope of our present imaginations. The spinning earth core maintains its usual momentum, the magnetic poles remain in place, but there appears to be a polar/earth shift because the crust has slid over the magnetic poles! Charles Hapgood's theory has never been disproven.

Much as we hear about the ice melt-down at the poles due to climate change and global warming (supposedly caused by the activities of mankind), this is not in fact reducing the ice masses residing on polar land. The ice shelves are breaking away rapidly, but these ice masses floating upon the ocean have never added to any polar imbalance, and cannot cause a polar shift. On the other hand, a rise of one degree in the polar air temperatures will actually increase snowfall in those polar land regions simply because warm air is capable of carrying and depositing more moisture than cold air. In other words, even as the ice shelves are melting away, the land based snow, water, and ice masses are building up even more rapidly in Antartica and in the northern areas of Greenland. This may very well be a natural and reoccurring phenomena.

SCIENCE CAN PREDICT WHEN THE NEXT POLAR SHIFT MAY OCCUR!
Another important factor to consider is the important alignment of the mountainous "ring of fire" around the globe in relation to the lunar tides. If the mountains "float" on a sea of molten lava, then they displace huge amounts of lava beneath them, just as ice bergs sink down into and displace sea water around them. This produces more numerous earth quakes and fault line movements as the lava tides come against these "negative" mountains, just as surface ice cracks and breaks up under the influence of incoming waves. Once in a while this mountainous ring that nearly circles the globe lines up more or less perfectly with the lunar tide and solar tides. Once in a great while this happens when the moon is at "perigee" to the earth. That is, the moon is at its closest point to the earth. And once in a very great while this all happens at a time when there is trillions of tons of ice and snow build-up on the land masses near the poles! This is particularly relevant if those polar land masses are offset from true north and true south as are Greenland and Antartica at present. It is these unusual parameters and occurrances that very well may be the precurser for the next polar shifts. WE CAN THEREFORE DETERMINE THESE MOST DANGEROUS TIMES!

The magnetic poles are several hundred kilometers away from true north and true south. This may mean that the axis of the spinning center has a slight gyroscopic "wobble", as well as spinning faster than the crust. If so, this "wobble" probably dictates the speed of the spinning crust, and may again throw the poles down to the equator at the appointed time? This is yet another possible catalyst in bringing forward the next polar shift and magnifying the effects of centrifugal force; sooner or later occurring at the very time the mountain ring lines up with the lunar tides, and when the ice masses at the poles have reached the critical level! This phenomena can easily be demonstrated with a child's spinning top. Once the top is spinning, its equilibrium is easily distorted so that the top gyroscopically wobbles around at the same time that it spins.

"Earth Changes" catalogues the scientific evidence suggesting that the next "big one" may not be that far away, perhaps by 2012. Like it or not, a polar/earth shift is bound to happen again, heralding in a new ice age for some parts of the world. The importance of restructuring our economic systems so as to hold significant resources in reserve cannot therefore be overstated. In 2012 the next polar reversal will take place on earth. This means that the North Pole will be changed into the South Pole. Scientifically this can only be explained by the fact that the earth will start rotating in the opposite direction, together with a huge disaster of unknown proportions.

In my books I reveal the immense cataclysm that is going to torment the earth in the near future. It is presently assumed by most people and the general scientific world at large, that the rotation of the Earth is stable, however, as expounded in my previous works on this subject, this is not the case. The gruesome reports of the previous catastrophes should, hopefully, be clear to all.

The historical exploration of cosmology in previous books is founded on the translation of hieroglyphs, cracking of codes, unveiling of the magnetic reversal of the sun, study of old maps, decoding of astronomical clues, geological research, and the discovery of the most exciting archaeological find in modern times.

Considering these I came to the following conclusions:

1. With clock-like regularity, sudden reversals and pole shifts are natural to the Earth. The result is worldwide destruction, and is supported by paleo-magnetic evidence and early manuscripts.
2. The reversal of the poles is attributed to the harmonic cycle of the magnetic fields of the sun.
3. Polar reversals can be calculated precisely on the basis of the sunspot cycle theory or the magnetic field theory, which the Maya and the Old Egyptians were privy to. These secrets are contained in the Labyrinth of Hawara, a huge complex consisting of three thousand rooms.

I explained abundantly clearly that life after a polar reversal is nothing but horror, pure unimaginable horror. All securities you presently have at hand, like - amongst others - food, transport, and medicines, will have disappeared in one big blow, dissolved into nothingness. As will our complete civilization. It cannot be more horrifying than this; worse than the worst nightmare. The earth will be subjected to total destruction. It will be many times worse than my description. The Riddle of the Magnetic Field Solved

At present scientists still do not know much about the mechanism that generates the magnetic field of the earth, which is more than frightening. Without doubt, our continued existence depends upon this. Thousands of years ago our ancestors knew that when this magnetic field tilts, a worldwide destruction takes place. The present geologists, astronomers and physicists know little about this. For that reason we are running towards our end, without a single acknowledgement from official sources.

So, what do our professors indeed know? Next to nothing. In short, the scenario is as follows: a solid central core rotates in the center of the earth. It is surrounded by a liquid iron-like layer, on top of which the earth's crust is continuously drifting. This whole structure therefore appears to be a huge rotating dynamo. In addition, the liquid layer rotates in the electrostatic field of the sun, recharging itself.

However, this is not at all efficient: more electrical potential is lost than gained. Just like a battery that is almost empty, it is difficult to recharge and it becomes exhausted more easily and quickly. This is the situation with the "battery" of the magnetic field of the earth. For this reason one sees the force of the magnetic field diminishing, almost 60% over the last two thousand years.

At this rate there will not be much left within a couple of decades! And then one can expect a reversal of the poles. But nobody knows in what way this will happen, nor what the consequences will be, in contrast to the Maya and the Old Egyptians who knew the terrible consequences only too well. Their science, their religion and way of life were completely based on them. They encoded their knowledge in Holy Numbers and in their architecture.

I needed days, weeks, months and years to follow their carefully applied clues and decode them. After an exasperatingly long search, I found out that these codes were connected with the catastrophic events on earth that were caused by pole shifts. Some of the codes were terribly complicated, although not incomprehensible. Once you have figured out the cipher, you are able to decipher the different levels of their scientific language. Then you can literally peel away layer after layer until you reach the ultimate result: the naked scientific figures regarding the background of these catastrophes.

Unknown Sunspot Cycle Theory Gives the Answer

The answers to these questions are alarming and devastating. All my deciphering points to a complex and ingenious science. Let me explain. When you, as a scientist, stumble upon results that the present astronomers do not know, you have, without doubt, stumbled upon something terribly important. Everybody will have to admit it, and that is exactly what I have done: I discovered an echo of a long-lost technological terminology; a majestic building with immensely sophisticated keys. Many numbers were based on the sunspot cycle, which they had discovered. A theory that is irrefutably correct and not known by our physicists! It cannot be more alarming!

This theory, in turn, correlates with the periodical polar reversals of the earth. I succeeded in cracking the whole puzzle and a large-scale structure appeared. Its development was such that the mathematical matrix ends on the day of the next polar reversal!

Just like the way we count down to the launching of a rocket, they counted down to the End of Times. On the last day of the calendar the magnetic north of the earth will change into the south. They knew this would not only mean the end of their civilization, but also of the whole civilized world!

Solar Lightning Causes the Polar Reversal

From legends and the sunspot cycle theory of the Maya, we can reconstruct the cause of a polar reversal. It has long been known that when a beam of lightning strikes a magnet, a reversal of the magnetic poles takes place. Let's apply this principle on a broader scale.

Our earth is a huge magnet, with its own North and South Poles. A short-circuit with another external "beam of lightning,” or magnet, can end in a catastrophic polar reversal. This means that the magnetic North Pole changes place with the magnetic South Pole. But what sort of external beam can cause this? What force is powerful enough to stop the rotation of the earth and revert it?

Only one object can cause this: our sun. You know from my book, The OrionProphecy that the magnetic field of the sun undergoes a drastic change every 11,500 to 12,000 years. Once a crucial point has been reached, it reverses instantaneously. Chaotic outbursts accompany this phenomenon and an immense cloud of plasma is catapulted into space. Then a shock wave of particles reaches our planet and the polar reversal of our earth commences.

With unknown power this solar lightning strikes our planet and causes a gigantic short circuit. That is the catastrophic truth behind a polar reversal of the earth. But how can we scientifically describe this fact? What is the precise physical cause that produces this polar reversal?

Solar Storms Cause the Pole Shift

In the book Earth under Fire I came upon the correct theory. More precisely, in the chapter entitled "Solar Storms and Geomagnetic Flips." The astronomer Paul La Violette writes “Field flips have been accomplished experimentally, by shooting large quantities of loaded particles on a strong bipolar magnet. These particles are then caught in the magnetic fields and cause a "ring-stream" in them. At a certain moment this stream speeds up to such an extent that the field of the magnet reverses completely.”

In an equivalent scenario the field of the earth can reverse in just the same way. Astronomers know that the particles of a solar storm can compress the earth's magnetic field and temporarily speed up the power of the earth's field.

When the solar particles reach our planet, the electromagnetically-loaded particles will move in a spiral along the magnetic lines: from the magnetic north pole to the magnetic south pole and back. While passing this north-south axis, they will move into the direction of the equator. When they arrive there, they will join into a super powerful "ring current."

This "ring current" generates an intense magnetic field that is opposite to the earth's magnetic field. In order to overpower the earth's magnetic field you need a solar flame a hundred times more forceful than the biggest one we have ever seen. At the reversal of the magnetic field of the sun this degree will certainly be reached.

From here on, my point of view deviates from that expressed by Paul La Violette. Not only will the poles reverse, but also the earth will begin to rotate in the opposite direction! This can only occur when the "ring current" pushes the inner core of the earth in the opposite direction.

Everybody knows that when you change the poles of an electric motor, it will start turning the other way. The same holds for the interior of the earth. When an external short circuit takes place, the core cannot do otherwise but start turning in the opposite direction!

Destruction & Renewed Life

This catastrophe will not only result in the massive destruction of life on earth, but also its continued existence, however incomprehensible this may sound. Let me explain this.
The magnetic field of the earth is not an accident of natural science. Its primary task is to protect us against cosmic and solar radiation. Without this field, life is practically impossible and in a short time, life on our planet would be extinguished. An all-burning, deadly radioactive radiation would torment the earth's surface.

So here we are talking about an incompatible duality: despite the fact that a huge amount of people, animals and plants will die, life will continue to exist, because the exhausted battery of the earth will be reloaded by the enormous solar storm. During thousands of years the magnetic field of the earth can therefore remain stable, protecting the flora and fauna against the damaging radiation. While doing this job, the inner battery of the earth will run out again and another cycle of destruction followed by creation and mutation will start anew.

I don't believe we are going anywhere. I also have a hard time accepting predictions for the day of doom. Heck, we don't even know for sure what will happen if a pole shift occurs. Its all theory. But I do see what is happening now with the lack of help after disasters and the financial collapse is already causing serious harm. The most vulnerable will always be the poor and working people of the earth. If anything this horrendous ever does come to pass, the rulers of this earth will fair better than we will.

Now if there is any justice, they go with us into the soup and the good will survive.


exactly what happens after a polar shift may be up for debate, but they certainly exist, and there 17 geologically recorded polar shifts in the Earth's history.
and it IS happening.  the electro magnetic pulse of the Earth has been slowing down more and more since 1987.  this means the Earth's rotation is slowing down.  the electromagnetic pulse of the Earth, since discovered around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, had remained constant at about 8.3 hertz (or roundabouts-don't feel like looking it up right now).  but in 1987, the pulse starting rising in frequency.  when it reaches 13 hertz, the earth will stop rotating for around a day, at which time the sun will stay in one place in the sky, until the Earth starts rotating the opposite direction as before, so the sun will travel back across the sky from which it came, and from then on will rise in the west and set in the east.

the reason this is known is because there are ancient accounts from many places in the world, including peru and scandinavia, where they recorded either the "long day" about 3500 years ago, in which the sun sat still in the sky for twenty hours, and then went back the way it came.  on the other side of the globe, at the exact same moment in history, there are many accounts from europe of the "long night" when crops died of cold, and all sorts of calamities happened...

How exactly does a pole shift or flip occur?

The magnetism behind he poles is generated by the movement of liquid iron (magma) that sorround the iron core in the earth's center. The Earth solid core spins in one direction and the molten core around it spins
in another generating the magnetic lines of force or North and South poles. Whirlpools of force much like giant "hurricanes" are powered by the Coriolis effect of the Earth's rotation deep within the planet. Much like a
spinning gyroscope. The lithosphere is what all the continents sit on and float (like rafts) on the core. The weight distribution varies across this "dorito" thin crust and it is believed that the very weight of the ice on the
polar caps have a direct bearing on the spin. Essentially if the Earth is top heavy, the ice caps spins the Earth toward the sun resulting in the shift. Take note that our Ice caps are melting and the weight distribution is
shifting again. It's like filling a balloon full of water and you simply spinning it with your hands. The outside (or surface) of the balloon would rotate obviously, but not the water inside. That's essentially the relationship
between the outer crust we live on to the intense molten interior of the Earth.

Now imagine if you will over time, with all the crazyiness going on under our feet, and our crust doing its own thing, magnetic lines are cut, and new ones are formed. This is the assistance we are referring to. The changes within can become so severe that the poles will actually flip completely. This is like watching a spinning motor destabelize and boom out flies a gear into the audience wearing 3D glasses. In Earth terms, it will result in a polar flip.

What else can cause the lithosphere to move causing advanced polar alignment?

PREMISE 1
Imagine if a huge comet with a massive amount of force were to skip off the top of the lithosphere, it could potentially rotate the "shell" of the planet along it's liquid iron core (just like us turning the balloon with our hands), resulting in a quick and extremely violent magnetic shift. Picture someone surfing on a sea of magma using California as a boogy board - same thing except that the person is this comet.

PREMISE 2**
A large stellar body passes by the Earth and drags the lithosphere towards it. The drag would result in the immediate and presumed violent change in magnetic fields. When the stellar body passes, the sun will take
over and assume re-orientating the planet to a safe orbit. ** this is the theory behind Planet X and exactly what it will do Earth. This will have major effects on magnetic alignment.

PREMISE 3
Direct impact from a huge comet or metorite at the correct angle repolarizes the Earths magnetic field. Also quick, and violent. To try this at home, simply take an iron rod, secure it tightly so that it doesn't move. With a hammer in hand, take a good swing strike one end of the rod as hard as you can. The poles within the rod are now re-aligned and is now magnetized.

James Ross located the pole for the first time in 1831 after an exhausting arctic journey during which his ship got stuck in the ice for four years. No one returned until the next century. In 1904, Roald Amundsen found the pole again and discovered that it had moved--at least 50 km since the days of Ross.

The pole kept going during the 20th century, north at an average speed of 10 km per year, lately accelerating "to 40 km per year," says Newitt. At this rate it will exit North America and reach Siberia in a few decades.

Keeping track of the north magnetic pole is Newitt's job. "We usually go out and check its location once every few years," he says. "We'll have to make more trips now that it is moving so quickly."

Earth's magnetic field is changing in other ways, too: Compass needles in Africa, for instance, are drifting about 1 degree per decade. And globally the magnetic field has weakened 10% since the 19th century. When this was mentioned by researchers at a recent meeting of the American Geophysical Union, many newspapers carried the story. A typical headline: "Is Earth's magnetic field collapsing?"

Probably not. As remarkable as these changes sound, "they're mild compared to what Earth's magnetic field has done in the past," says University of California professor Gary Glatzmaier.

Sometimes the field completely flips. The north and the south poles swap places. Such reversals, recorded in the magnetism of ancient rocks, are unpredictable. They come at irregular intervals averaging about 300,000 years; the last one was 780,000 years ago. Are we overdue for another? No one knows.

According to Glatzmaier, the ongoing 10% decline doesn't mean that a reversal is imminent. "The field is increasing or decreasing all the time," he says. "We know this from studies of the paleomagnetic record." Earth's present-day magnetic field is, in fact, much stronger than normal. The dipole moment, a measure of the intensity of the magnetic field, is now 8 × 1022 amps × m2. That's twice the million-year average of 4× 1022 amps × m2.

To understand what's happening, says Glatzmaier, we have to take a trip ... to the center of the Earth where the magnetic field is produced.

At the heart of our planet lies a solid iron ball, about as hot as the surface of the sun. Researchers call it "the inner core." It's really a world within a world. The inner core is 70% as wide as the moon. It spins at its own rate, as much as 0.2° of longitude per year faster than the Earth above it, and it has its own ocean: a very deep layer of liquid iron known as "the outer core."

Earth's magnetic field comes from this ocean of iron, which is an electrically conducting fluid in constant motion. Sitting atop the hot inner core, the liquid outer core seethes and roils like water in a pan on a hot stove. The outer core also has "hurricanes"--whirlpools powered by the Coriolis forces of Earth's rotation. These complex motions generate our planet's magnetism through a process called the dynamo effect.

Using the equations of magnetohydrodynamics, a branch of physics dealing with conducting fluids and magnetic fields, Glatzmaier and colleague Paul Roberts have created a supercomputer model of Earth's interior. Their software heats the inner core, stirs the metallic ocean above it, then calculates the resulting magnetic field. They run their code for hundreds of thousands of simulated years and watch what happens.

What they see mimics the real Earth: The magnetic field waxes and wanes, poles drift and, occasionally, flip. Change is normal, they've learned. And no wonder. The source of the field, the outer core, is itself seething, swirling, turbulent. "It's chaotic down there," notes Glatzmaier. The changes we detect on our planet's surface are a sign of that inner chaos.

They've also learned what happens during a magnetic flip. Reversals take a few thousand years to complete, and during that time--contrary to popular belief--the magnetic field does not vanish. "It just gets more complicated," says Glatzmaier. Magnetic lines of force near Earth's surface become twisted and tangled, and magnetic poles pop up in unaccustomed places. A south magnetic pole might emerge over Africa, for instance, or a north pole over Tahiti. Weird. But it's still a planetary magnetic field, and it still protects us from space radiation and solar storms.

And, as a bonus, Tahiti could be a great place to see the Northern Lights. In such a time, Larry Newitt's job would be different. Instead of shivering in Resolute Bay, he could enjoy the warm South Pacific, hopping from island to island, hunting for magnetic poles while auroras danced overhead.

The melted magma rock swells and churning flows that were effectively supporting as continental foundations and stilts for an earlier configuration and lay of the land may be eventually be completely settled in some areas by enough elevation difference to put large sections of normally dry land in the middle of continents, countries, and states unexpectedly fully underwater. I have no idea if something bad will happen in 2012 or not. Nobody really knows. Most home owners have fire insurance, even though they do not expect their house to ever burn. They have it because losing their home and contents would be devestating, and insurance is quite cheap.

haha, no, when the earth stops rotating, we won't float away. gravity on earth is not based on the rotation or the electromagnetic field.  gravity comes from the massive size of the planet, not from the rotation... I know we were all taught that in school, complete with artists' renderings of people floating off the globe, but that's because people were retarded back then... hahaha no, I think they only just proved it within the last twenty or thirty years...

The image of a high-temperature superconductor levitating above a magnet in fog of liquid nitrogen can hardly surprise anyone these days � it has become common knowledge that superconductors are ideal diamagnetics and magnetic field must expel them. On the other hand, the enclosed photographs of water and a frog hovering inside a magnet (not on board a spacecraft) are somewhat counterintuitive and will probably take many people (even physicists) by surprise. This is the first observation of magnetic levitation of living organisms as well as the first images of diamagnetics levitated in a normal, room-temperature environment (if we disregard the tale about Flying Coffin of Mohammed as such evidence, of course). In fact, it is possible to levitate magnetically every material and every living creature on the earth due to the always present molecular magnetism. The molecular magnetism is very weak (millions times weaker than ferromagnetism) and usually remains unnoticed in everyday life, thereby producing the wrong impression that materials around us are mainly nonmagnetic. But they are all magnetic. It is just that magnetic fields required to levitate all these "nonmagnetic" materials have to be approximately 100 times larger than for the case of, say, superconductors.

Whether an object will or will not levitate in a magnetic field B is defined by the balance between the magnetic force F = MB and gravity mg = V g where  is the material density, V is the volume and g = 9.8m/s2. The magnetic moment M = (/ �0)VB so that F = (/�0)BVB = (/2�0)VB2. Therefore, the vertical field gradient B2 required for levitation has to be larger than 2�0 g/. Molecular susceptibilities  are typically 10-5 for diamagnetics and 10-3 for paramagnetic materials and, since  is most often a few g/cm3, their magnetic levitation requires field gradients ~1000 and 10 T2/m, respectively. Taking l = 10cm as a typical size of high-field magnets and B2 ~ B2/l as an estimate, we find that fields of the order of 1 and 10T are sufficient to cause levitation of para- and diamagnetics. This result should not come as a surprise because, as we know, magnetic fields of less than 0.1T can levitate a superconductor (= -1) and, from the formulas above, the magnetic force increases as B2.

The water and the frog are but two examples of magnetic levitation. We have observed plenty of other materials floating in magnetic field - from simple metals (Bi and Sb), liquids (propanol, acetone and liquid nitrogen) and various polymers to everyday things such as various plants and living creatures (frogs, fish and a mouse). We hope that our photographs will help many � particularly, non-physicists � to appreciate the importance of magnetism in the world around us. For instance, it is not always necessary to organize a space mission to study the effects of microgravity� some experiments, e.g. plants or crystal growth, can be performed inside a magnet instead. Importantly, the ability to levitate does not depend on the amount of material involved, V, and high-field magnets can be made to accommodate large objects, animals or even man. In the case of living organisms, no adverse effects of strong static magnetic fields are known � after all, our frog levitated in fields comparable to those used in commercial in-vivo imaging systems (currently up to 10T). The small frog looked comfortable inside the magnet and, afterwards, happily joined its fellow frogs in a biology department.

There is one important aspect in which the diamagnetic levitation differs from any other known way of levitating or floating things. In the case of diamagnetic levitation, the gravitational force is compensated on the level of individual atoms and molecules. This is, in fact, as close as we can - probably ever - approach the science-fiction antigravity machine.

That's alright, we are each entitled to our own opinion and theory on all things discussed. I can see the destruction based on the fact that if anything dies here on Earth, the original form is destroyed, and sometimes reduced to dust. As for the Enlightenment, here is the way I see it, based on Jim McCanny's science, and a lot of reading. Of course Earth rotates around the Sun, in an orbit that has lasted for a very long time. Lesser known is that the Sun, and all the planets also are in an orbit, and that is a way longer one than we are used to, in fact, it has been so long ago that no body remembers that last time we passed by the Central sun. In Mayan mythology each Long Count cycle is a world age in which the gods attempt to create pious and subservient creatures.

The First Age began with the creation of the Earth, and it had upon it vegetation and living beings. Unfortunately, because they lacked speech, the birds and animals were unable to pay homage to the gods and were destroyed. In the Second and Third Ages the gods created humans of mud and then wood, but these also failed to please and were wiped out. We are currently in the Fourth and Final Age, the age of the modern, fully functional human. Is it possible that these Ages referred to evolutionary change? Just north of a truck stop along Interstate 80 in Battle Mountain, Nev., lies evidence that the Earth’s magnetic field once went haywire.

Magnetic minerals in 15-million-year-old rocks appear to preserve a moment when the magnetic north pole was rapidly on its way to becoming the south pole, and vice versa. Such “geomagnetic field reversals” occur every couple hundred thousand years, normally taking about 4,000 years to make the change. The Nevada rocks suggest that this particular switch happened at a remarkably fast clip.

Strong winds, rain and snow have battered the Middle East leaving at least 19 people dead and causing massive damage to buildings, particularly in Egypt.

Bad weather hit the region for 48 hours leaving destruction as buildings collapsed, ports were closed and roads became death traps.

Egypt suffered the most fatalities due to extreme weather conditions and several people died in Alexandria, Egypt, after strong winds and heavy rain caused 28 buildings to collapse.

Indonesia is a disaster-prone place. Given its history of inadequate preparation, the country needs a comprehensive evaluation of how it plans for and responds to the natural disasters that so frequently afflict it.

In Indonesia, twenty volcanoes are now on alert status across the country, forcing residents to take a hard look at what it means to live in the Pacific “Ring of Fire”. The media has reinforced the idea that Indonesia’s location on that ring is to blame for the magnitude of the disasters, and Indonesian politicians often emphasize the “natural” in natural disasters to excuse any lack of disaster management and deny the incompetency of the government. But the magnitudes of the earthquakes that occur in Indonesia are similar to those that occur in Japan and New Zealand. Neighboring countries such as Singapore have found ways to deal with climate-related disasters through natural resource management and urban planning.

The National Disaster Mitigation Agency reports that since its first eruption on October 17, the Mt. Merapi eruptions have killed 242 people in Indonesia and forced almost 400,000 to take refuge at 639 sheltering points created by the central government, in neighboring regencies. Fearful of their safety, Indonesians regularly discuss the disasters that have befallen their country, one after the other, beginning with the earthquake and tsunami in Aceh, the worst hit among several areas in different countries in December 2004.

Bitter cold, snow paralyse region

ANKARA, Turkey -- Heavy snow and strong winds paralysed much of Southeast Europe on Sunday (December 12th). In Turkey, the extreme weather conditions crippled transport in the Bosporus, the Sea of Marmara and the Dardanelles. Ferries between Istanbul and Bandirma, and Bursa and Yalova were cancelled because of the strong wind. The storm also blocked water connections between the separate districts and islands of Istanbul. Strong winds hampered traffic across the Sea of Marmara. Nearly 43 Turkish and foreign tankers and cargo ships remained blocked in ports in the Tekirdag province. Air traffic has also been affected.

In northern Albania, snow combined with low temperatures has blocked national roads. Police are monitoring the situation closely, warning of particularly dangerous conditions along roads connecting Puka and Kukes and Puka and Shkodra. Media in Tirana reported that some villages in the Puka municipality are blanketed in snow 1m deep, totally blocking communication. Greece has also been hit by the cold and snow, forcing some roads to close. In Macedonia snowfall, though heavy, is not creating any serious problems for the time being. It’s already looking like a white Christmas is assured.

After a week of the heaviest snow in Scotland for nearly 50 years, forecasters are warning that it could persist into the New Year. Although they are predicting less snow, there is no prospect of the mounds of white stuff melting away.

Temperatures are expected to remain mostly below zero for several weeks, with widespread danger from ice and freezing fog. “There is no sign of any significant thaw,” Alex Hill, a senior Met Office adviser to the Scottish Government, told the Sunday Herald.

“It’s possible that it will stay below freezing until the New Year.”

For many, that’s a daunting prospect, bringing more dangerously slippery streets, transport disruptions, closed schools and a host of other hindrances to routine daily life. For others, though, it means more beautiful winterscapes, camaraderie and family fun.

Despite freezing temperatures and snow lashing many parts of Europe, delegates at this year’s climate change conference say 2010 has been one of the hottest years on record. According to the latest data released by the World Meteorology Organisation (WMO) at the conference in Cancun, Mexico, warmer than usual temperatures have been recorded in Greenland, Canada and East Africa.

Sea and land surface temperatures have been among the highest since 1850 and final analysis early next year will confirm whether 2010 was warmer that the two previous hottest years, 1998 and 2005.

Voyager is approaching the edge of the bubble of charged particles the Sun has thrown out into space

Voyager 1, the most distant spacecraft from Earth, has reached a new milestone in its quest to leave the Solar System.

Now 17.4bn km (10.8bn miles) from home, the veteran probe has detected a distinct change in the flow of particles that surround it.
These particles, which emanate from the Sun, are no longer travelling outwards but are moving sideways.

It means Voyager must be very close to making the jump to interstellar space - the space between the stars.

Edward Stone, the Voyager project scientist, lauded the explorer and the fascinating science it continues to return 33 years after launch.
"When Voyager was launched, the space age itself was only 20 years old, so there was no basis to know that spacecraft could last so long," he told BBC News.

"We had no idea how far we would have to travel to get outside the Solar System. We now know that in roughly five years, we should be outside for the first time."
Dr Stone was speaking here at the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting, the largest gathering of Earth scientists in the world.

Particle bubble
Voyager 1 was launched on 5 September 1977, and its sister spacecraft, Voyager 2, on 20 August 1977.

The Nasa probes' initial goal was to survey the outer planets Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, a task completed in 1989.
They were then despatched towards deep space, in the general direction of the centre of our Milky Way Galaxy.

Sustained by their radioactive power packs, the probes' instruments continue to function well and return data to Earth, although the vast distance between them and Earth means a radio message now has a travel time of about 16 hours.
The newly reported observation comes from Voyager 1's Low-Energy Charged Particle Instrument, which has been monitoring the velocity of the solar wind.

This stream of charged particles forms a bubble around our Solar System known as the heliosphere. The wind travels at "supersonic" speed until it crosses a shockwave called the termination shock.
At this point, the wind then slows dramatically and heats up in a region termed the heliosheath. Voyager has determined the velocity of the wind at its location has now slowed to zero.

Racing onwards
"We have gotten to the point where the wind from the Sun, which until now has always had an outward motion, is no longer moving outward; it is only moving sideways so that it can end up going down the tail of the heliosphere, which is a comet-shaped-like object," said Dr Stone, who is based at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, California.

This phenomenon is a consequence of the wind pushing up against the matter coming from other stars. The boundary between the two is the "official" edge of the Solar System - the heliopause. Once Voyager crosses over, it will be in interstellar space.
First hints that Voyager had encountered something new came in June. Several months of further data were required to confirm the observation.

"When I realized that we were getting solid zeroes, I was amazed," said Rob Decker, a Voyager Low-Energy Charged Particle Instrument co-investigator from the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Maryland.

"Here was Voyager, a spacecraft that has been a workhorse for 33 years, showing us something completely new again."
Voyager 1 is racing on towards the heliopause at 17km/s. Dr Stone expects the cross-over to occur within the next few years.

Although launched first, Voyager 2 was put on a slower path and is currently just over 14bn km from Earth.

What's more, the solar system is going northward of the galactic plane as we speak at the rate of 1.5 astronomical units per year. In about 15 million years, we're expected to be farthest north of the galactic plane, perhaps to reach a peak of 230 light-years. After that, we'll start to plunge southward toward the galactic plane. In short, we won't be crossing the galactic plane in 2012 or anytime soon!
As the solar system revolves around the center of the Milky Way galaxy in a period of roughly 230 million years, it does bob up and down through the galactic plane in periods of roughly 35 million years. But none of this has any bearing on what is to happen on December 21, 2012.

February 15, 2001 -- You can't tell by looking, but scientists say the Sun has just undergone an important change. Our star's magnetic field has flipped.

The Sun's magnetic north pole, which was in the northern hemisphere just a few months ago, now points south. It's a topsy-turvy situation, but not an unexpected one.

"This always happens around the time of solar maximum," says David Hathaway, a solar physicist at the Marshall Space Flight Center. "The magnetic poles exchange places at the peak of the sunspot cycle. In fact, it's a good indication that Solar Max is really here."

Because of all the twists and turns, "the impact of the field reversal on the heliosphere is complicated," says Hathaway. Sunspots are sources of intense magnetic knots that spiral outwards even as the dipole field vanishes. The heliosphere doesn't simply wink out of existence when the poles flip -- there are plenty of complex magnetic structures to fill the void.

Or so the theory goes.... Researchers have never seen the magnetic flip happen from the best possible point of view -- that is, from the top down.

When solar maximum arrives and sunspots pepper the face of the Sun, our star's magnetic field begins to change. Sunspots are places where intense magnetic loops -- hundreds of times stronger than the ambient dipole field -- poke through the photosphere.

"Meridional flows on the Sun's surface carry magnetic fields from mid-latitude sunspots to the Sun's poles," explains Hathaway. "The poles end up flipping because these flows transport south-pointing magnetic flux to the north magnetic pole, and north-pointing flux to the south magnetic pole." The dipole field steadily weakens as oppositely-directed flux accumulates at the Sun's poles until, at the height of solar maximum, the magnetic poles change polarity and begin to grow in a new direction.

Sun. This varies due to various factors such as sunspot cycles (short term), changes in the earths orbit (longer term), changes as the sun itself ages (very long term) (see Milankovitch cycles and Solar variation.)

We then experience variation in the amount of energy striking a particular place on Earth due the angle the surface presents to the Sun This naturally leads to temperature differences throughout the day, and of course between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. The former cycle has a 24 hour periodicity, the latter is annual.

You know, letting us know in advance would at least give the human race a chance to be good to each other. To prove our humanitarian empathy for our fellow man. A chance to bring out the good in all of us. what could it hurt.
If it some how wasn't as devastating,we would have had a whole year of learning some new ways of thinking that just might stick. I am single father who was proudly raised by two loving daughters. Once you know the truth you can ignore it or embrace your mission...to help them be all they can be!

Hell if the rich are on the moon we could claim this world for our own.

Signs of an altered earth tilt?
UK plants are flowering for a second time this year because of the unseasonably warm weather.

With temperatures soaring, plants such as foxglove and cowslip, which usually flower in the spring, are in full bloom six to eight months early.

Cold nights experienced across the UK in August are thought to have led to the early onset of autumn colours.

This warmer spell now has plants acting like it is spring.

Gardeners at the National Trust's Wakehurst Place gardens in Sussex said they are working from a "new rule book" to keep up.

"It is a very unsual year...I've been gardening for 30 years and have never seen anything like this," said Wakehurst Place's head Andy Jackson.

I have said this many times to many people over the course of the last 3 years, I have noticed the lag between the finish of winter and spring planting dates move one week every year for the last 4 years.

We are also having a delayed end of summer as is the UK. i personally dont think solar flares cause this, and global warming doesnt add up because we have seen lowering summer temps for years.

What does make sense is a gravitational force acting on the earth wether it be from the accretion disk of the SMBH at the center of our galaxy or the fabled planet x.

When I was in Waterstones bookshop the other day, in the Mind-Body-Spirit section they had one of those display stands with selected books facing outwards. There were 14 different ones and they were all about 2012, the Mayans, etc. I think this is going to become more and more discussed over the next year. However, I think we could say that no-one knows for sure what will happen, how many will survive, and when exactly the big Event will happen. People have visions, dreams, ET communications and whatnot....but who knows, really......?

I hold onto the fact that we are INFINITE CONSCIOUSNESS! :D even if we all lose our physical bodies, we will still continue to exist....somewhere. :D

Poll shift theory

I'm still confident with my conclusion & stick with my Poll shift theory & the contraction and expansion around the equator area. If the pole rotation point changes then the ovality on the equator has to change depending on how much the poles will move from there position.
But the contraction may turns into expansion; because the earth inside would be so much denser then the less denser outer shell & turns into stretching the outer crust in the more thinner newer parts of earth & thinning it in places which could even drop the ocean water levels overall and the pole melting ice will replace the area increase on earth??

Expanding should be easier then contracting earth because nothing is externally to create higher forces then the existing inner density.

By my theory in one location the earth has to expend on another it has to have contraction (but it can not contract because the inner earth is to dense) also centrifugal force will prevent it from contraction so it has to stretch in places logically that's how earth ended up with lesser aged parts below the oceans. Marked red in the image below.

If the data is correct the equator has a 13 miles each side ovality, so if the poles shifted by 100km then the same has to happen around the equator area. This most likely could create the sounds in the ground & are reflecting back down from the Skies.

I'm sure someone could calculate it how much the deflection should be above the original equator & below it. Even if it would only be 100 meters to 1000 meters I'm sure the earth would sound like a growing drunken pregnant mother.

These stretch-marks are not for nothing on the ocean bed & my theory would cover this scenario logically I think?

Anyway I think my gif image gives a better speech then my writing. I had a image about the pole-shift relocation so far over the last years in kilometres but I don't remember in which thread I placed it.
