View Full Version : Thinking about changing my lifestyle...

So I've had this idea for ages. The only thing, as a human being, that I need to do as I exist in this universe, is to eat and expand my awareness, everything else is illusion (even though food is and illusion, at the moment we have to eat or we'll have a severe case of deadness). Even though I could do what everyone else shoves down my throat, y'know, the get a good job with more pay (and you're OOooOOookkkkk, god-damn catchy Pink Floyd!), get a mortgage, 9-5, don't question anything eat shit food and force the same "reality" on my children. I have the ability to see through this shit like an x-ray, and I denounce it, much to the dismay of my family.
So I'm taking action, instead of sitting around thinking about it, I'm going to take action. At the moment there's a back garden ripe for sowing, so starting tomorrow I'm going to draw up a plan (with a friend's help) to turn it into a vegetable patch and have certain seasonal vegetables growing at certain time slots, hopefully sustaining my appetite and keeping me naturally healthy.
I came across these videos (check out the first two, scroll down for first). This woman talks about organic and super foods, and what plants you can actually eat that grow all around us and that are extremely healthy and (as she says) are tasty!
Anyone any similar ideas or experiences? Or even some good gardening tips??
Thanks,
Soglad

I think your idea of doing some gardening is terrific!! There are lots of gardening sites on line for you to get some ideas from, that will be specific to your part of the world.
I have had a food (and flower) garden for many years. I love it!! and especially eating all the fresh veges. Just be careful, gardening can be very addictive! :D

Do what you inner self tell you. People have to shut their noise down and listen... What are you doing (planning) is excellent. Don't stop... Although there will be some barriers coming trying to stop you, but don't give up! You can achieve more then you think!

Good on you SG, thats an awesome idea :D We must do what we feel is the right thing to do......
I am wanting to sell up, buy a bus/camper and travel around Australia.
Ditch all the Crap.......And let the beautiful countryside be my back yard. I have two kids which I saw as a bit of an obstacle to doing this....but my son is happy to live with his dad for a while and my 3 year old can come with me :) I shall homeschool her on the road, and travel around to amazing places....
Well its all a bit of a dream at the moment, but it WILL happen:D
Good luck with the gardening:p

Good on ya dude, nothing like the feeling of getting ya hands in the dirt, cool stuff. If you want to supercharge your vege's check this out
www.sonicbloom.com
Dan Carlson, the man who grew the largest indoor plant in the world and invented Sonic Bloom, guide you to remarkable success with your plants and crops. Sonic Bloom is a system that uses specially designed sound and organic nutrients to create amazing organic food and plants. It works on everything.
On every leaf there are thousands of such small openings. Each stoma--less that 1/1000 of inch across--allows oxygen and water to pass out of the leaf, or transpire, while other gases, notably carbon dioxide, move in to be transformed by photosynthesis into sugars. During dry conditions, the stomata close to prevent a wilting plant from drying out completely.
It works well and increases the nutrient content of all vege;s and fruit, PM me for more info ;)
