my daughter was banned today from going to a school disco so i thought fuck this i aint having this from the nazi camp .

Communicating the behaviour policy: What the head teacher is legally required to do

http://www.teachernet.gov.uk/wholeschool/behaviour/schooldisciplinepupilbehaviourpolicies/nonstatguidanceforheadsandstaff/communicatingbehaviourpolicy/headslegalrequirements/

3.2.1 The headteacher is under a legal duty to publicise the behaviour policy that he or she has determined in the form of a written document (see section 3.1 for an explanation of the process involved in determining the policy). The headteacher must take steps, at least once a year, to bring the policy to the attention of all pupils, parents and school staff (including anyone working in the school on an unpaid or voluntary basis).

Apart from this annual notification, the head teacher has a broad legal-duty to make the policy generally known to pupils and parents. This would imply, for example, ensuring that the policy is brought to the attention of any new pupils and their parents, if necessary outside, and in addition to, the annual notification.

3.2.2 These duties on the headteacher, as regards communicating the behaviour policy, complement the duty on governing bodies to consult with the school community as the behaviour policy is being formulated. The overall effect should be to help secure understanding and, insofar as possible, assent to the policy throughout the school community.

3.2.3 The headteacher's duty to publicise the policy is particularly important as regards detentions (which are an unlawful sanction if not made generally known within the school and to the parents of registered pupils), and in relation to confiscation (which necessarily entails an interference with a pupil's property rights).

While the headteacher might seek help from other school staff in publicising the measures, for example, asking an IT specialist to send a system-wide notification to pupils on his behalf, it is preferable, in order to convey the importance attached to the behaviour policy, that it is communicated under the headteacher's name.

also asked what law this came under he didnt know but presumed it was statute law so informed him as i had not seen the policy and if it is statute you have not formed contract with me as statute requires concent.
anyway with that i asked weather my daugter would be going to the disco he said no so i said that case since it is unlawfull i will be making a formal complaint and pressing charges.
suddenly my daughter is no going to the disco.

ok so it is nothing major but see how scared they become when you have a little knowledge
