God is not an entity

When I hear the word god I think of beings like the Greek or norse gods, that were really just some sort of powerful entities. Anunnaki, reptilians, whatever.

But many use the word God to refer to something else as well, particularly followers of monotheistic religions. The greatest "force" in existence, creator of all and a factor in everything that is. That is the thing I'm talking about, and I see no way that that thing could be an entity, like a father figure sitting on a cloud and directing us.

God is not an entity, it has no form, nor is it energy or anything that could ever be measured. God has no mind, no consideration, no plan. To say whether God is a part of us or not is merely semantics and romanticized theologism. God is not a part of anything. God does not control anything, things simple happen a certain way because God (to be used as a verb and noun in this sentence, why not an adjective as well.)

Even the Hebrew word Yahweh means "to be". God simply is, but does not really exist. God is the nothing that connects everything. God is not omniscient or omnipotent because those are qualities of entities, God has no qualities.

In essence, I would say Lovecraft had some understanding of what God is when he created Azathoth, the idiotic panurgia. Azathoth is like a mockery version of God created for horror stories, but in essence the same as God, excpet reduced to an entity.

Indeed, this is what I was thinking. Something like that 'we' are merely one possibility, hence, its just fortuitous that we 'are', but almost inevitable, since the Absolute contains all possible possibles, thus all qualities, all manifestations, etc.

Still, it's a profound topic to reflect upon, how a source of all possibles actually manifests a series of actuals, like us, and what it means.

Time is our problem. ;) We think too much in an beginning and end. But nothing has an end, it only changes its appearance.

I sympathise with and understand your viewpoint. You would have had me agree with you 100% many years ago, but I take a different viewpoint nowadays. Trying to understand what may be way beyond our mind (I am not saying beyond 'us' - but we are identified with mind, human mind) is not feasible. Only a direct experience might give you some inkling, not that I had one myself (although I had the experience of going beyond the mind), and I am not claiming it is feasible, but it might be, and mystics claim to have come close to something like that.

To feel more peace, and less anger, think of the following:

1) 'God' may be unconscious - you may be a conscious manifestation of it
2) 'God' may be you - as good/bad as you are
3) 'God' may not be reachable to you - because your mind is so noisy

Thats an incredibly complex set of variables and some assertions that maybe arent quite right.
Perhaps the killer thinks it brings him closer to god
perhaps the liar is simply a coward to all truths, or deviant beyond concept.

I dont feel there is a point to understand either if you are neither and can refrain form being around them. Lying for some is an obsessive complulsion.
