I'm not an affilate from any sites or anything, I just clicked a banner on the Jeff Rense website, and then I found this:

I wonder if it's possible to get enough food from that, not being a vegetarian before. (But I guess I would have to be a vegetarian to work with this.)

You'd need a lot of land, and the ability to protect your crop from "midnight harvesters". A garden is a great idea to add to your storage foods but won't replace a stash of wheat, oats, beans, rice, TVP, and other "survival foods".
FWIW, I clicked on an heirloom seed site this morning looking for "rattlesnake pole beans" and got a message that the company is sold out until fall. If you're going to get seeds, you better hurry!
