Sorry if I'm being thick, but how do you do a search for companies on their site? Do you need to register or something?

Here is the link
http://www.dnb.com/us/
Type in what name you want to search on the right side of screen under ''company'' then select the country from the dropdown box underneath! Simple! No need to register... but it will cost you about $300 to buy a copy of the credit report.

Hi Cookie
This is a very difficult question to answer or get answered! If you go to www.tpuc.org and read the article on my investigation into my local authority you will see what I mean!
Your local council (borough council) will have been established by the Local Goverment Act 1972. In that act it clearly states that all Local Authorities are corporate bodies!
Hope this is of some help.
Best wishes
Mike

Different criteria for registration on D&B -v- Companies House.
It's to do with company articles of incorporation and memorandum
and share holding etc.
Companies House is .gov.uk = government owned and controlled.
D&B is a commercial operation, selling information.
That is why you can see some corporations on D&B and not
on Companies House. Also you will find a difference when
looking at D&B UK -v- D&B.com in the USA.
The USA are more open, and foreigners can use and access their
freedom of information legislation, whereas the UK are more secretive,
in spite of saying they having nothing to fear. Of course!

I don't know what the UK dole office is called, but in Australia it's called Centrelink. Dunn & Bradstreet sent me a letter asking for money they are collecting for the 'Commonwealth Of Australia'.
Centrelink = Commonwealth Of Australia who hired a debt collection agency by the name of Dunn & Bradstreet.
