Researchers said the development meant it could be possible to tell whether someone was telling the truth or a lie by observing their thought patterns. However, the technology is thought to be at least 10 years away.

The British scientists were able to tell where an individual had been "standing" inside a virtual reality room from records of their brain activity.

The technology is probably ten years away from commercial use.

I'm convinced that the military already has an advanced and active technology.

I would hope we could use this to test candidates for public office and persons called before Senate hearings. :)

I'm not entirely convinced technology will be required for that in ten years time as the human race is going through quite a period of evoloution in their consciousness at this time.
