This was a couple of years ago when the rings were still visible side-on. I used a webcam inserted into a Meade LX90 (it's an 8" SCT). The webcam captures individual frames, and then I used a program called Registax to stack the best images of the 300 or so that the webcam captured.

Trust me, that image is not what I see thru an eyepiece. Even with my 10mm eyepiece Saturn looks pretty small.

I don't get out with mine every night, but I did manage to watch comet Lulin a couple of nights recently, and I went out to see Jupiter and Venus several weeks ago when they were near each other. There is something calming about looking at the vast expanse of space. My favorite object is the Plaeides cluster.

I'm not really sure, but I can see most of Jupiter's moons on a good night. It's a 2000mm scope, so I guess with a 10mm eyepiece that would be 200x?

LOL! I didn't mean to imply anything. It's just that some people I have shown that picture to go "Holy s**t!", like they think I must have the Keck Observatory in my backyard.

Nice one, mate. ;]

I had some russian mirror scope long time ago...untill it met the ground and
I couldnt find anyone to repair it, shame.
Yes, watching the Moon was great fun and Jupiter and its satelites, too!
But the magnification wasnt staggering - only 100X.
Barely enough.

I am jealous as I have never had a telescope that good.
