I just thought it would be useful to list in one place some of the best sources that challenge the science of the IPCC/Gore 'official story'.

Watts Up With That is an excellent blog that cuts through the bullshit - it won the Best Science Blog award in 2008. http://wattsupwiththat.com/

Climate Audit - another top-notch blog (and best science blog 2007) http://www.climateaudit.org/

An Accuweather senior meteorologist maintains a good blog on global warming: http://global-warming.accuweather.com/

Benny Peiser maintains an old-skool mailing list that gives a daily digest of the main climate change stories around the world. http://www.staff.livjm.ac.uk/spsbpeis/CCNet-homepage.htm

Bjorn Lomborg - author of the Skeptical Environmentalist http://www.lomborg.com/

Christopher Monckton (not a scientist, but a well-informed and smart layman) did two excellent articles in the Telegraph a couple of years ago about the scam, well worth a read:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1533312/The-sun-is-warmer-now-than-for-the-past-11400-years.html
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1533912/Wrong-problem-wrong-solution.html
(and here's a link which goes into more depth: http://scienceandpublicpolicy.org/monckton_papers/greenhouse_warming_what_greenhouse_warming_.html)

The other side

I'm a firm believer in "know your enemy". Here's the best of some of their resources.

Real Climate - this blog is maintained by some of the big stars of the climate change orthodoxy, such as Gavin Schmidt, Michael Mann (creator of the infamous 'hockey stick' graph). http://www.realclimate.org/

IPCC 4th Assessment report - read it from the horse's mouth: http://ipcc-wg1.ucar.edu/wg1/wg1-report.html

I've always been rather sceptical of the global warming lobby - and the shriller they became, the more sceptical I became of them. That's the way I am, I don't like being told what to think - I view the evidence either way and decide for myself.

Weather manipulation projects exist, yes. But whether the trails from planes have anything to do with it, I remain unconvinced. There's your answer. But I'd be obliged if you didn't hijack this thread for a debate. It's meant to be a useful resource for people researching the global warming debate. But by all means stick a few links about weather manipulation if you like - but please, keep it to one post. Thanks.

Hijack the thread?

I asked a question about your position on weather mainpulation.

This thread is about climate change.

You can't discuss "climate change" without taking into account all possible factors, man made CO2, sun spot activity and weather manipulation.

You wrote: But whether the trails from planes have anything to do with it, I remain unconvinced.

I didn't make any reference to chemtrails in my question.

I asked you about weather manipulation.

You answered that question in the affirmative.

A couple of months ago you scoffed at the notion of weather manipulation.

As for keeping it to one post....

I'll post what I feel is relevant to the thread.

Richard Lindzen is professor of meteorology at MIT. He was also a lead author on the IPCC's 2001 report but he left the IPCC because he was fiercely critical of the review system, which is led by political appointees rather than scientists. Here is his critique, which people will find useful when discussing the ideological bias of the IPCC: http://www.john-daly.com/TAR2000/lindzen.htm
