Anyone else having trouble downloading videos from google?.

I use the firefox plugin VideoDownloader and recently haven't been able to get it to work. I get an error along the lines of "[video.google.com] Error: Not a valid URL".
I'm wondering if its just me or have they done something to disable the downloader.

Cheers.

Hey thanks for that auron. Works a treat.

I'm back in business archiving these alternative videos before google shuts them down completely. I can see it happening in the near future. Too many people are awakening and the powers that be will be getting worried.

I would recommend others do the same too if you have the hard drive space to spare. In fact if you can afford it then buy a 2nd hard drive just for these videos. A 160gb hard drive is pretty cheap these days. You can pick one up for about $100-$120 last time i looked. Great way to keep all your videos, ebooks, pictures, podcasts, etc safe.
Its very easy to hook it up as a slave drive internally in side your computer or even better buy a usb hard drive enclosure and hook it up through a spare usb port. Great way to keep all your data safe in case your main operating system suffers a crash/virus infection etc. Also if you use an external usb enclosure hard drive then you can take it over to your mates place and connect it up so that they can view your archived videos on there computer as well.
Since i do video editing as a part time job/ hobbie i all ready have a second 160gb hd installed as a slave drive but that is nearly full so i will be purchasing an external hdd soon. Probably a 320gb at the least and i will be getting one that uses firewire as the transfer method. Firewire is recommended if moving large DV video files from your camera straight to your external hd device like i do for video editing. For just archiving files that have been downloaded from google, youtube etc the usb external hd drive will be all you need.

If you want any help in connecting up a second hard drive as a slave then just ask and i'd be happy to help you out.
Just tell me witch way you came in :D

Nah, just jokin. I'd be happy to help.

Cheers,

Thats the way. The only problem i have is with dvd's getting scratched and crapping out all the time even though i try and do a good job of keeping them in their cases. Thats why i try and keep as many on my hard drive as poss. Do you have problems like that?.
Its probably the cheap dvd media i've been using :o

I have all my stuff on a separate hard drive too. Then i burn the DVD's and keep them in cases and i don't touch them again! If the hard drive ever fails, I'll just get a new one and copy everything back from the discs. :)

For downloading google video click on ((Download)) button and then right click on ((Manually download the video)) if it doesn't show click on the ((Download)) button again, then click on ((Save Target As)).Save the file as a .rtf file then open that text file and you will see the url is in that file.Copy that url then paste it in the address bar.there you go.:)

Hi tickles,

Not had a prob with google myself, only that they help the chinese imprison and kill our brothers and sisters!

Since i do video editing as a part time job/ hobbie

I'm very interested in this stuff mate! You use Avid, Premiere etc.? Same here. I like to make and edit my own fiction stories, but have to stick to music vids and documentary for now, less budget I'm afraid.:o Documentaries can be interesting if you're not shy.

Do you make your own movies? Be great if there were more film-makers here.

BTY, I have a couple of terrabites HDD space! Na na na na na:rolleyes:

Best

Lucky bugger :D Wish i had that much disc space.

I use Premiere pro and sometimes Ulead mediastudio Pro for editing and Encore for authoring my dvds. Also use Photoshop for any images, graphics that are needed. I have Adobe after effects but still haven't had the time to master it yet.

I mainly do events & runs for the local motorcycle club but I've also done a few weddings and children's birthday parties as well.

I'm working on a short film at the mo. It's a great story that i'm trying to write & film about a child that was born in the millinium year and goes on to play a big part in society in the year 2012 ;)
It's a hell of a lot of work though trying to do it on my own.
Video editing is just my hobby which means i don't have the good gear to use.

Cheers
