Howdy All,
My partner and I recently had the pleasure of taking a driving holiday for three weeks from Victoria to Queensland in our Kombi camper. The trip was made a bit more exciting due to the car conking out at Coffs Harbour and also the Gold Coast.
While waiting for the car to be repaired I took this photo of a phone tower disguised as a tree in the Gold Coast.I noticed lots of phone towers up there. That place needs some serious gifting, Cheers Tony :)

Yeh there is one of those up the road from me at a 5star hotel, Belfast N.Ireland.
I always laugh when I see it. Kinda ironic, a cancer cawsing piece of metal dressed as a oxyegen producing life form!!
Bit like disguiseing barb wire as pillows!

You would think they would have gone to greater lengths to disguise it. :D

Yep, a rather poor disguise. No tree hugger would go near that tree. :D

They have also disguised them as telegraph poles in the UK, with fake effect wood and even the little climbing foot rests at the top.

Big frickin deal. They are all over So California. I believe they are trying to keep the landscape clean of "eye sores." Most places around here, they are trying to eliminate "optical pollution" i.e., billboards and oversize signage. Mobile phone antennae are considered ugly. "They" aren't trying to full anybody: you can even see the trunk is square!
BTW: many people don't even notice. Talk about an elephant in the room.

you think they are disguising them as trees to make them look nice?
They are disguising them so people won't notice and won't question why so many are going up.
Do fone masts really do what they say they do? We know that scientifically low sound frequences can give someone visions or appear to see ghosts. so they could be capable of doing anything for all we know.
We are not going to be told the truth by the media or the government. They say one thing, then do another.

They are probably real images. I wonder why they want to try to hide the masts like that. It looks really horrible. lol. Maybe in some cases they use trees because that's a cheap way of putting up a mast.

Yes, they are just the ugliest things -- and the ones around here are square pillars with criss-cross, and very dead-looking palm fronds. Very stupid.
If "they" were trying to pull one over, they could have made it look like a street lamp or telephone pole.
But about people being oblivious: if they had a sign hung "Do not look here," you will still have people saying, "What? Don't look where?"
For instance, recently I have found a small wad of money on the pavement outside of busy paths. Another occasion, a valuable rings, and a diamond watch. People were actually stepping over them. Because because people are blind.
