That's one thing I can never understand about the British?

How one of the most advanced nations in the world in terms of
inventions and literature still has a Queen, who in theory still rules over
them?

They still refer themselves are 'subjects' - rather than citizens,
especially the older generations.

When will Britian finally get rid of that 'family' and become a
Republic?

And another thing that makes me laugh is when these monarchists say
there is no-one good enough to take the place of their
Queen.

For God sake, your country produced Dickens, Shakespear etc. it
invented some of the most important 'inventions ever created.

Your grandparents showed extraordinary courage and resilience to
defeat Nazism - and these monarchists still say such a
country cannot produce a head of state good enough to lead
the country!!
