that tells you something -- First Amendment to the United States Constitution is no longer.
"prosecutors declined to comment" should be a clue.

what i do not get is why would Masons give you bill of rights then centuries later take it away.

One explanation i heard was that they knew that this would happen, as they knew man's heart, therefore those who were unable to defend their own rights will fully deserve their fate when they are stripped off those rights.

second explanation heard was that all countries that were signers of U.N. charter after WWII have actually given full power to U.N. when they joined U.N., therefore U.N. has full power over signer-nations since that time. this renders constitutions of independent countries
subordinate or even no longer valid.
