Knowing what we know about the coming economic and societal collapse in the U.S. has led my partner and I to seek more favorable climes, and so we have settled in Costa Rica. Here there is an abundance of arable land and water, beautiful warm weather year round, and a slow, agriculturally-based economy. We now have 60 beautiful acres we would like to develop into a sustainable community. To trigger the next step, we need at least $250,000 dollars to begin with surveying and permits, building roads, etc. Anyone who puts in $50,000.00 will receive an acre of land to build on and help with residency. This is something to act on quickly as soon they will be restricting the flow of money across borders. If you have been thinking about a better life outside the ensuing insanity, please let me know and I will send more details. We are calling our little venture "Agralife" and you can find a temporary site at http://www.agralife.com.

Peace to All,
SuZen

One acre won't support a family. I'd also like to know something about gun laws in Costa Rica. Finally, there are restrictions now on how much money can be moved from the US. I think I'll stay here in Texas with well-armed friends and neighbors, but y'all have fun down there, y'hear... bless your little hearts!

I'm beginning to hate that word--sustainable. It's another trendy word that people use to make what they're attempting to express sound meaningful. But in actual fact, WTF does it mean in this context. How would you know what is sustainable or not. Do you have a crystal ball or something? The truth is communities such as the OP is proposing are notoriously short lived.

Oh, God. Is there no end to my intolerance:rolleyes:
